A scenic 10 mile drive through Chequamegon National Forest brings you to a private home with 450 feet of lake frontage on Teal Lake. The Hayward area is best known for its quaint shops, fishing and ice fishing, numerous festivals, ATVing, snowmobiling, Birkebeiner cross-country skiing, and fat tire mountain biking. Lakehaven, and the hundreds of miles of wooded trails outside your door give you immediate access to fishing, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, sailing, mountain biking, birding, and looking at the trees. During the winter months, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowshoeing, fat tire and mountain biking are outstanding at Lakehaven. A never ending variety of things to do for all ages and levels of activity. Our favorite activity, during any time of the year, is to sit back and enjoy the view of nature from any room of the house. Close by is a full-service convenience/ liquor / bait and tackle store for those last minute and emergency needs, including boat and auto gas. There are several dining/supper clubs, restaurants, and bars in the area, or choose to stay home and cook in the gourmet kitchen. Golf courses, riding stables, the LCO Casino and boat rental /repair are also conveniently located.
Teal Lake is a 1,049 acre quiet lake with a 10 mph speed limit - no seadoos or water skiing. Instead, enjoy a peaceful pontoon, fishing boat, canoe, kayak, or sailing adventure. The lake is connected by a channel to Lost Land Lake, another quiet lake with 1,304 acres that has a public boat ramp. Both lakes are renown fishing destinations, with local guiding available. On shore, you are within the Chequamegon National Forest, which boasts hundreds of miles of trails for all seasons.
In doors in this 4,200 square foot home you will enjoy lake or woods views from every room and you will find vaulted living and dining rooms, a gourmet kitchen with service for 20, a large screened porch, a sunroom, a bar, 1 king bedroom with connecting office, and 2 queen bedrooms downstairs, each with associated bathroom, and upstairs you will find 1 twin bedroom, 1 two-bunk (twin upper, full lower) bedroom, as well as a fully furnished loft with queen sleeper sofa, with shared bathroom. We also provide a rolling twin bed and a pack 'n play sleeper. There is plenty of indoor garage parking. The entirety of the first floor is set up for wheel-chair accessible living, including roll-in entry way, wide doorways, under counter roll up for two of the bathrooms, and a roll-in shower and sunken jacuzzi tub in one of the bathrooms. The 750 square foot living room boasts a stone fireplace, views of the lake and woods, a game table/extra dining space for 4, and plenty of comfortable seating. The adjacent dining area, also with a fireplace, includes a table for 10 parallel to a two story-window overlooking the lake, which is less than 50 feet away. Two of the bathrooms contain laundry facilities. There is a picnic table and a paved, lighted path to the 40 foot dock and boatlift, with a small shed to conveniently stow your fishing gear.
