The SpaceParc y Brenin is one of only a few remaining real traditional welsh cottages remaining in Wales. You will be mesmerised by its charm upon entering the cottage. It has been renovated to a very high standard, but has not lost its quaintness. The original inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove and exposed beams are just a few of its rich charms. Logs are provided and you will be welcomed with a Welsh Tea Tray and fresh flowers on your arrival. The cottage has its own enclosed beautiful garden full of cottage garden flowers. There is seating at the front of the cottage to enjoy the garden at you leisure. Set in the heart of an idyllic rural setting of the Towy valley, Parc y Brenin is an ideal place to holiday whatever your interests. The market town of Llandeilo, which is about 5 miles away, is the reputed 'slow food' capital of Wales, a traditional pretty market town with narrow streets and historic buildings, a good selection of individually owned boutiques eateries, crafts and antique shops. 'Y Polyn' is the AA restaurant of the year for Wales 2009-2010, and has two AA Rosettes and an Egon Ronay Star, and only a 15 min drive away. Carmarthen which is about 10 miles away is thought to be the oldest town in Wales and the birthplace of Merlin of Arthurian legend, has a large market specializing in selling fresh local produce and the usual supermarkets. Many of its smaller shops specialize in quality goods. Go to Carmarthen or Llandeilo on market day and hear Welsh spoken in the streets and shops. Visit Aberglasney Gardens (the garden lost in time) and the National Botanic Garden of Wales with its Great Glasshouse or just marvel at the beauty of the scenery. The Towy valley has castles, gardens, wildlife, small towns and beautiful scenery but is also within easy reach of the breath-taking scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the beaches of Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsula. We are located within easy driving distance of the spectacular heritage coastline and beaches of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, which even in summer are little populated. The mountains can be seen from around the house and offer spectacular walking and scenic drives. About 45 minutes away is the Lynn Brianne Dam, with its pine forests and lakes. The Brecon Beacons are about an hour away where you will also find the magnificent Welsh Show Caves. There are three award winning caves including the magnificent Cathedral Cave with its lake and two cascading waterfalls. Within the complex you can enjoy one of the world's largest dinosaur parks and an Iron Age Farm, which also houses shire horses among its other animals. There is also a mountain railway, driven by steam locomotives, which weaves its way across the mountains and valleys. Other railway journeys are also on offer and all give the opportunity to enjoy the dramatic scenery. The Roman Goldmines - These are owned by the National Trust and are well worth a visit. Here you can try your hand at gold panning, enjoy a guided tour of the mines or treat yourself to a piece of beautiful Welsh Gold jewellery. Distance from the house is approximately 15 miles. Parc y Brenin is a self contained cottage. I live in the adjoining cottage, and am available if required for local knowledge, best places, restaurants to visit etc. The perfect romantic and quaint getaway, nestled in the welsh hills. You will require a vehicle. The cottage has it's own secured private garden, with outside table and chairs. The garden is full of cottage garden flowers and is surrounded by a painted picket fence. Parking is on the private driveway in front of the cottage. Guest AccessThere is a private drive way to park your car. Interaction with GuestsI will be available for any information or help you require on your stay. The NeighborhoodThe perfect romantic and quaint getaway, nestled in the welsh hills. Getting AroundYou will require a vehicle. Other Things to NoteIf approval has been made for you to bring a small well-behaved dog then the following guidelines must be followed: Doggy Rules: Your pet is welcome to my cottage, however I would be grateful if you would comply with the following rules: IN COTTAGE The dogs are not to be left alone in the cottage under any circumstances. Please ensure the dogs are kept off the sofas and beds. Any damage/marks or stains will be chargeable. IN THE GARDEN The dogs are not to be left alone in the garden unattended. Please ensure your dog is controlled in the garden and does not walk over the flower beds as any damage to plants/flowers will be chargeable. Where possible try to ensure your dog is taken up the road for its toilets, as spraying on the plants damages them. If your dog does poo in the garden, then owners are to clean it up and dispose of it. Please also note the bedrooms are connected upstairs, so you walk up the stairs to the first bedroom (king size bed) and then there is a door adjoining leading to the bedroom with two single beds.

The SpaceAn elegant, yet cosy room, quiet and tranquil, just the cluck of hens, the singing birds, the occasional owl or barking fox to make you realise you are in the countryside. DAB clock radio, hairdryer, Television ( set up if required but stored in wardrobe) and teas and coffee facilities are in the room, and I cater for people with special dietary requirements, vegetarian, vegan, dairy/gluten free, just let me know and I will be happy to oblige. The guest bathroom is spacious and private with a roll-top bath as well as shower. The garden has a variety of wild birds which come to the feeders. Red Kites and Buzzards regularly fly overhead. As a dog owner, I know how difficult it is to travel with dogs so I am happy to offer a nice wicker basket, warm blanket and food bowls for yours! Guest AccessGuests are welcome to enjoy the large garden. Should the weather be a little inclement, there is a glass covered porch, with seating, at the rear of the house with views of the garden. On fine days, there is a small sunken garden area with seating and a table. Interaction with GuestsAs I work mainly from home, I am around most of the time. Occasionally I do research work but would still be here to cook breakfasts. The NeighborhoodThis house is central for several castles, including Dryslwyn (5 mins walk away), Dynefor (7 minutes drive), Carreg Cennen ( 15 mins) and Carmarthen (9 mins but not much of a castle left!). We are between the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney, both 5 minutes drive, both stunning. The picturesque old market town of Llandeilo is 6 or 7 minutes away by car, and has galleries, clothes shops, pubs and restaurants, plus several good coffee shops. If walking on the beach appeals, Llansteffan is 20 minutes away, and Laugharne, the famous home and burial place of Dylan Thomas can be reached in 30 minutes or so - a must for Dylan Thomas fans. Getting AroundPublic transport is difficult in this area, a 1/2 mile walk to the nearest bus stop. To view the area well, a car is a necessity. There is a safe and spacious drive on which to park at the house. Other Things to NoteAlthough we have some glorious weather, Wales has been known to have a drop or two of rain! A pair of gumboots/walking boots and a waterproof coat are a good idea to pack in the boot of your car! :-)
