The SpaceI enjoy offering this listing for up to three guests. Our home is a spacious farmhouse. If you require only a few beds, but want the whole house to yourselves, this is for you. Also, when I close part of the home for the cold months, these bedrooms, the two baths, as well as the kitchen, laundry area and living room remain heated and open.
In the front corner of the first floor is a large bedroom of 180 sq. ft., furnished with a queen size bed. This bedroom has a tiny interior bathroom. The first floor is a spacious 1000 ft of space with an open concept kitchen/dining area, living room, laundry room and two porches. On the second floor, the 200 sq. ft. den bedroom has a double bed. There is also a queen size folding futon bed in the upstairs southeast corner bedroom, 180 sq ft of space.
All upstairs rooms are down the hall from the small but functional bathroom.
The house is located in the foothills of Mount Monadnock in a great all season recreation and commuter location. We have several acres of open land with no other homes in sight.
Our neighborhood is quiet and rural, but right near all the wonders of the Monadnock region. There is a T-Bird gas station right down the road to the right at Bond's Corner, a CVS and Shaws down the road to the left in Peterborough. Del Rossi's restaurant is in town.
The house is a special place. It has been a welcoming home for families since it was built in 1830. It is my family homestead where my children grew up. I live a few minutes away and my family stays in the house when they are in the area. When we are not at home, we love to share our place with you.
Included in rates is cleaning and NH 9% meals and rentals tax. If you require a price detail please inquire. My NH Meals and Rentals License No. is 059642 Guest AccessHave the use of the whole home with the exception of any locked rooms and buildings. The three bedrooms listed, the kitchen, laundry and living room are heated year round. In the cold months part of the house will be closed during your stay, as the heat will be off for the winter in that area.
Use of the garage, and all outdoor areas. Front, side and back yards are all mowed. Fields are mowed seasonally and you may walk there, but at your own risk. There is an old riding ring at the top of the upper field where you may bring some folding chairs to enjoy the view.
The woodshed, barn and tree house are not included in this listing. They are all locked. There is an old zip line in the back yard that is not set up for use at this time. It is placed out of reach. Please do not attempt to use it. Interaction with GuestsOnce you have booked your visit, detailed driving directions and house access details will be provided in your Itinerary, under My Trips.
I enjoy welcoming you to our home by leaving some store bought breakfast ingredients in the fridge, and if I have been baking, some homemade treats as well.
I live nearby and may be reached easily if needed. With your advance contact I am happy to stop by. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is quiet and rural, but right near everything. Please know that our home is large, not "child proof" and has acres of open land outside. Children must be supervised at all times both in and outside our home.
We provide sheets, pillow cases, blankets, duvets and covers. We ask that you cover the mattress and pillow covers with the clean sheets provided. If you need beds made, please let me know a few days prior to arrival.
No worries about stripping the beds, or cleaning linens and towels. We will take care of that after you leave.
We ask that you wash, dry and put away your dishes prior to departure.
Recycling is mandatory in Dublin, and we ask that you follow the recycling guidelines for our town. By sorting the items into the provided labeled bins, and removing caps and rinsing plastic and glass.
There are two small bathrooms at our house, each with a single sink. The first floor bathroom is tiny, and accessed through a bedroom. Please consider if these amenities are suitable for your group of guests.
At present we have only one usable first floor bedroom. Guests who stayed with us last year will remember the other bedroom behind the kitchen. That room is currently closed off for renovation.
The stairs from first to second floor have a short rise and run. If needed, there is an entry way from ground level to the second floor at the back of the house, to circumnavigate the stairs. At your request, I will install a child safety gate at the top of the stairs.
We have a private septic system and well. The fresh water from our well is safe to drink. Some of our guests prefer to drink our fresh well water, however you may want to bring your own bottled water and ice. We have a whole house Culligan system to soften the water.
The home is centrally heated with forced hot water radiators. Three air conditioners are put in place before July. There is no central air conditioning.
