The SpaceThis is a third-floor apartment (easy stair access) that is designed for families. It has a nursery with a crib; two bedrooms (one with a queen bed, the other with bunk beds, with the bottom bunk full-size). There is a play area and two sofa beds as well. There are two bathrooms, one of them en suite. There is a washer and dryer as well, and a full kitchen and dining area. Guest AccessYou can access the entire floor, entering through the back of the house. We have a new washer and dryer, and we provide laundry detergent. We also have two portable cribs and two high chairs. The nursery has a changing table, crib, and swivel rocker; and the kitchen has utensils and dishes for children. The bathroom has children's bath toys, baby soap, etc. We have a nursing chair and pillow, and a bumbo chair as well.
We provide all necessary towels and bed linens. For outdoor activity we have beach chairs, beach towels and toys, and other recreational equipment such as bats, balls, and so on. Interaction with GuestsWe respect our guests' privacy but will be helpful in any way necessary for them to enjoy their stay. The NeighborhoodOur property is located in East Greenwich, a thriving town on Greenwich Cove, which is part of Narragansett Bay. Within a 3 minute walk, we have amazing restaurants, from classic diners to high-end destinations. The surrounding area has many recreational and cultural opportunities, with easy access to Newport (30 minutes) and Providence (15 minutes). Brown, RISD, Providence College, and Johnson & Wales are a short drive (15 minutes) up I-95 away. Providence is a great place for foodies and for the arts. We are a great place to come for your reunion, graduation, or other events.
Right nearby are a Little League field, a children's playground, and outdoor basketball courts. Just a few minutes walk away are the library, multiple churches, a Farmer's Market (Monday afternoons), and many other points of interest such as the town's historic waterfront (a 10 minute walk), which features multiple bars, restaurants and marinas.
We are well located for events at Brown University, Providence College, Rhode Island School of Design, Johnson and Wales, and the University of Rhode Island. We are a great location from which to attend Newport music festivals and tennis tournaments; or for Providence activities such as Waterfire.
Recreation: Nearby Goddard State Park (7 minutes) has hiking, a beach, fishing, horseback riding, golf, and other activities. In historic Wickford Village, 15 minutes away, you can rent kayaks or canoes to explore the harbor. There are also boat tours available for sightseeing or fishing. The fast ferry to Martha's Vineyard is 15 minutes away. Atlantic beaches are within 30 minutes. The Block Island ferry is only 45 minutes away, near the deep-sea fishing charter boats based in Point Judith and Galilee.
In the winter, there is nearby sledding, skating, and cross-country skiing. There is a small downhill ski facility at Yawgoo (25 minutes) which also features a water park in the summer.
There is an active schedule of concerts and movies on Academy Field (across the street)- see the town (email hidden) for details. The town's Main Street Strolls on summer Thursday evenings once a month are a well-known attraction.
Showcase Cinemas is a 5 minute drive away. Getting AroundThe RIPTA bus system picks up on Main Street, about 3 minutes from the house. See (website hidden) for details. Parking on the street is readily available, and there is a free lot across the street. There are nearby train stations with access to the Boston MBTA and Amtrak's northeast corridor routes.
