The golf course across the street has great lunch and dinner menus with full service pub open all season long. We are 5 minutes from grocery stores, 15 to 20 from lots of shopping and entertainment. The SpaceWe renovated this small separate studio building (that we like to call The Bunky) into a one bedroom 'guest house' so our Mum's would have somewhere to stay when they came to see their new grand baby & for other friends and family . You have a private entry & stairs from the parking area. We made it light & bright & open with a small kitchenette so our guests can be independent but separated the bedroom & kitchen so our visitors could have visitors but not in their bedroom :) The bedroom (about 135 sq.ft.) has a (perfectly-firm-but-not-too-firm) queen sized bed, closet & dresser, with extra pillows, blankets & a lovely quilt. It also had a great, long, south facing window that lets in lots of light but keeps the space private. The living room/kitchen (about 240sq.ft.) is open and has double glass doors that look out over the pond (oddly called 'Long Marsh' on the deed) & the ocean beyond. The L-shaped couch is also a sofa bed (double). There are another couple seating options too & a small dining table with comfy, fabric chairs. The the kitchenette is equipped with modest cooking options: a large toaster oven & a two burner hot plate. There is a coffee maker (12 cups if you're hunkering down) and a bodem if that's the way you like it. There is also a small under counter fridge. Out the double doors (or the private entry door) you'll find a wrap around deck that catches the sun all day. If you're awake early enough you can watch the amazing sunrises over the pond from the living room or deck. You will have direct access to the pond (we have a canoe that can be used to explore). Between the bedroom & the living area is the bathroom. A lovely space with a tiled shower & clean fixtures. There is a (somewhat random) assortment of toiletries in the drawers. Guest AccessYour house (The Bunky) is self contained but you are welcome to share our outdoor spaces with us including access to the pond, our garden and sheltered areas. Interaction with GuestsJeff & I live with our (not-really-a-baby-anymore) baby in the Main house and are happy to introduce you to our little corner of heaven, though there are times we like to keep to ourselves. We own a small cafe in the community (in Grand Desert, just the next village over), it's a great spot to eat, have a latte, meet some of our locals and really connect to the internet. The NeighborhoodThere are beaches & ocean access close by and the scenic Fisherman's Reserve is an easy 45 minute walk away. The Trans Canada Trail is close too and, if you are feeling energetic, it's a 1.5 hour walk to Lawrencetown Beach or a 1 hour walk to (our) cafe in Grand Desert. Rose & Rooster (our cafe) is a local hub & a great place to eat, drink coffee and enjoy some local color. Getting AroundWe have parking space available for you but you will probably feel stuck without a car. The nearest bus stop is about 4km's away and that bus will take you to Porters Lake and then to Dartmouth/Cole Harbour (about 1 hour). Other Things to NoteWe do have internet at the house and somedays it reaches the Bunkey but it can be a bit weak, but cafe is your best bet for good service.
