Years ago this used to be a rough neighborhood, but thank God and the reduction of gang members we have had relative peace and families enjoy themselves and walk the streets safely. Public transit is close by which will take you to downtown (Staples Center,Disney concert hall, Nokia theatre), Wilshire district or all the way to Santa Monica beach. The NeighborhoodWe designed our apartment so that the guest can relax in comfort and have a restful sleep. Guest are invited to visit our former business, La Mascota bakery, established 63 years ago. Where you can taste delicioso pastries, tamales and breads. (URL HIDDEN) Getting AroundLocated off of Whittier bl. with public transport that will take you all over ( Pasadena, Hollywood, Santa Monica, ect.). The neighborhood is a latin (Mexican, Salvadorian and Guatemalan) community. We are a working class community that enjoys music and dancing, especially on Saturday night. The community is Child friendly and people enjoy the street food vendors along Whittier Blvd (the main street). Other Things to NoteSo my guests can know, that my wife and I enjoy been Airbnb hosts. I live in the house located in front of the the property with the white patio umbrella . Either phone me or knock on my front door if we are home. We will be glad to take care of any situation that might arise. It is easy to check in with our electronic keyless entry door lock when you arrive just open the front gate and walk past the driveway on the right and the studio is located in the back past the 2 gates, I will provide you with the entry code to access the house. No need to meet if you prefer privacy, and it's pretty convenient for you in case you decide to arrive or leave in the middle of the night! We are very friendly people so please feel free to say hello. With that said, we like to provide you with as much privacy as possible. The NeighborhoodWe are located just minutes from Downtown, the Convention Center and Staples Center and Little Tokyo. As you might have heard, DTLA went through major renovations these past years. It is now the hottest place in LA. Restaurants, bars, clubs, historical cinemas and buildings. We recommend eating pizza at (PIZZANISTA), or splurge for something extra special at (CHURCH & STATE). Little Tokyo also has amazing food, we recommend Marugame Monzo's beef Udon, Daikokuya's shredded pork bowl, Shabu shabu house... Getting AroundMetro Gold Line is nearby and straight to Downtown/Union Station, then change to Hollywood or other destinations... And coming soon SANTA MONICA beach line! Uber is the easiest and quickest way of getting to downtown it’s only 5 min away. Other Things to NoteThere is Free street parking available, just make sure to verify NO PARKING times: Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00am till 12:00pm. If you are not able to find parking on the street I can try to accommodate your car in my parking space just let me know.
