The SpaceCentral Vermont has so much to explore. Our home is in the center of it all, just a few miles outside our quaint capital city of Montpelier, but in a rural setting with stars filling the dark sky at night, lots of open yard and fields to play outdoors, whatever season. Our home is warm and bright, with an open floor plan downstairs, a lovely two-story sunroom, and three bedrooms and two baths upstairs. The master bath has a queen bed, lots of room and its own full bathroom; the guest room has a double futon bed; and the kids room has a double bed on the bottom and a single bunk on top. Wood floors and lovely wood furnishings throughout, we care about quality and keep our home tidy and ready for guests! Guest AccessWith plenty of parking in the driveway, a large yard and beautiful gardens, there is ample space and privacy. There is a deck with a gas grill for your enjoyment and lots of outdoor kids toys, a sandbox and a swingset. The kitchen has all the amenities - with a gas stove, large fridge and lots of granite countertops, it is a great place to cook for one or many! Interaction with GuestsWhen staying in our home, you will likely not see us unless we stop by to make sure you are all settled in, or have any needs we can help with at the beginning of your stay. We have family and neighbors nearby that can help if we are out of town. We do have a lovely, friendly and incredibly easy-going cat who lives here. The NeighborhoodOur home is in a very rural setting, yet just 2.5 miles outside the lovely and busy, quaint little city of Montpelier, Vermont, the capital and cultural hub of our state. Montpelier is just off the interstate, and is full of restaurants, boutiques, and services. We are surrounded by tourist attractions such as Cabot Creamery, Ben & Jerry's, maple sugaring demonstrations, granite quarries, museums, and many other fun activities! Getting AroundWe are conveniently located just a few miles from Interstate 89. Greyhound and other bus routes, as well as Amtrak, have public transportation to Montpelier, VT. We are a 50 minute drive from the airport in Burlington, VT, and less than 3 hours from both Montreal and Boston. We are a 5.5 hour drive from New York City. There is plenty of off-street parking available as we live in a rural area.

The Space Our home is located at the top of a hill with sweeping views of this rural area of Central Vermont with its renowned mountains, river valleys and towns. The small Capital city of Montpelier, with its historic buildings, small shops, restaurants and a variety of cultural events is just 4 miles away! There are 2 single rooms available with a shared bath between them, Blue Spruce Room & Deer Haven Room @ $60per room/night. The bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor and have lovely countryside views. They are eco-friendly furnished, featuring new beds with organic firm mattresses and natural bedding for your comfort. This is a vegetarian household offering breakfast featuring Wolfgang's delicious fresh grain + fruit muesli. Eggs are available on request. Arrangements can be made to cook other meals with us. Your host, Wolfgang Rohrs with partner, Louise Frazier, operated a vegetarian restaurant in Cologne, Germany, and since returning to the US we have hosted stays and nutrition retreats at our home while living on an organic farm, and later in rural areas of New York and New England. The SpaceThe view of the Green Mountains is spectacular from this room. Deer can be seen at dawn and dusk. The room is spacious with a large Oriental Rug and handmade by the Amish cherry wood furniture. There is a bay window with two armchairs for a sitting area. The private bath has a large soaking tub and separate shower as well as a double sink vanity. Guest AccessGuests have access to the front and back decks, the lawn and areas to walk into the woods from several different locations. Interaction with GuestsWe welcome our guests and provide tea and coffee during their stay which can be gotten from the kitchen area. We are also available around the Inn during their stay. The NeighborhoodWe are located on a very quiet lane 3 miles from Montpelier. Getting AroundThere is not public transportation to our Inn from town.

The SpaceThe bathroom has a pedestal sink, shower, commode, skylight and Italian tile floor. There are views to the front, side and back of the property. It is so quiet and cozy in this really large space. Guest AccessGuests access this 3rd floor space (Loft) by going up the staircase inside the front foyer entrance. At the top of the stairs is the 2nd floor. Turn left and open the first door on the left which is the entrance to the 3rd floor suite (Loft). Go up the stairs to the Loft. Interaction with GuestsJoe or Ann-Marie will be in the house or reachable by cell phone and only 10 minutes away. The NeighborhoodWe have the "best of both worlds". We are in a country setting yet only 3 miles to downtown Montpelier where there are great restaurants and shops. The Morse Farm Maple Sugar house (the oldest maple sugarhouse in the state of Vermont-8 generations of making maple syrup) is only 3 miles from the house. They serve awesome Creamies -- a unique Vermont treat. Getting AroundThere is a train station about 5 miles from the house. It is really a "platform" outdoors but there is no building. There is very limited taxi service in Montpelier....only about two or three taxi cabs. We can pick you up at the train station if we have suffiicient prior notice. We charge $15 to pick up the guest and bring them to the Inn Other Things to NoteWe have goats, horses, chickens and a cat. We do not allow pets in the house because sometimes guests are allergic to animal dander.

The SpaceYou have a private room on the second floor, the full bath is right next to the bedroom, which is hardly ever used by anyone else. You are welcome to use the kitchen, living room, back deck, laundry facility. I have a shelf in the refrigerator for my guests and a cupboard for you to store your items. The space is clean...kept organized...and quiet most of the time. Guest AccessI will usually be home to greet you, however, I will leave a hide away key for you if I am unable to meet you. You will have access to this key during your (URL HIDDEN) that you can come and go as you please. I ask guests to use the side door when they come in after 9 PM or go out before 7 AM. Other than this...you have access to both front and side doors. Interaction with GuestsI will be available during your stay. If I am not home you will be able to reach me on my cell phone. The NeighborhoodMy home is located on 7 acres giving visitors an idyllic Vermont country experience. The neighbors are friendly, their homes pristine while I am surrounded by open lawns and woods, VAST trails, brooks, and fields. There are several horse farms about 1 mile away for scenic walks, and great ponds for swimming or kayaking. Getting AroundYou need a car from where I live to get around. In Barre or Montpelier you can get public transportation - bus, train, Amtrak...etc.
