The SpaceIf you like being close to town but enjoy the tranquility of the country, than you will love it here. Town is only 7mins away, handy to lots of restaurants/takeaways and groceries (Woolies, Coles & Aldi). Also available is cot/bassinet if travelling with a young one. Guest AccessYou will have access to open plan kitchen, dining, lounge area which separates your bedroom from the remaining house. The lounge has a lovely wood heater for those cool nights, also an air conditioner if it gets very hot. Interaction with GuestsI will be coming and going, so will be around to answer any queries about our beautiful city of Toowoomba and surrounding district as best as I can. The NeighborhoodWe are a neighbourhood of at least 1/2 acre blocks, lots of trees and bird life. I have some resident frog-mouths (owls), wallabies (and hares) which can often be seen grazing in the afternoon on the adjoining property. I have a very friendly and helpful neighbour on one side (the only visible neighbour). We are just minutes from town, yet feels like country. Getting AroundThere is no public transport, so it would be taxi if one does not have own car. Other Things to NoteAs we do not have reticulated water, the house is run off tank water solely. We have not run short lately, but it is best not to be wasted. We are also not sewered. The house has two septic tanks. Normal precautions prevail.

The SpaceCute, renovated cottage, mostly newly painted 'smoke free' home & gardens. Wide Hoop Pine floorboards, high ceilings, new kitchen, new bathroom, (2nd toilet). 3 bed + deck + front sun room. The north-east facing house is tastefully furnished, comfortable & filled with character. There is a beautiful new deck (with an insulated roof) that overlooks the private large back garden. Two pussy cats permit humans to live here, so you need to be considerate to animals. While I don't permit cats to enter a guest's room after a check-in, if you have allergies to cats my home may not suit you. One double sized bedroom with queen sized bed or if unavailable there is a small comfortably furnished bedroom with single bed. Over longer periods the house ideally suits no more than 3 adults. Guest AccessEach room includes a comfy bed, wardrobe, side table & bedside lamp, towel rack, floor rugs, bed linen and towels. Wi-Fi internet with unlimited download is included in your rate and there is a smart shared bathroom, internal laundry with a separate toilet. There are 3 sets of French doors in the house. One set opens out to a deck off the kitchen (fully equipped dishwasher, gas cook top, microwave, electric oven, oven toaster & ample crockery and cutlery). All utilities - gas, electricity, water, wi-fi internet & cleaning are included in your nightly tariff. I don't provide entertainment for guests. There is occasional access to a TV in the living room (or you can watch programs online). There is roof insulation & gas heating (& air-con) in the main living area. Ceiling fans are installed in the kitchen & the double bedroom Interaction with GuestsDaily interaction is the norm however privacy is respected & expected. The NeighborhoodThe 1930s cottage is situated in a pretty, heritage listed, tree-lined street, 15 mins. walk to Queens Park, Toowoomba's Central Business District & walking distance to shopping centres, cinemas, convenience stores, eateries, restaurants, medical & fitness centres, Library, the Empire Theatre, bike shops, educational & swimming facilities. The TAFE is a 5 minute drive and the University is about 10 mins drive from South Toowoomba. Getting AroundThere is a regular public transport system between my home & town or to the University (USQ) but buses do not operate in the evenings or on Sundays. My preferred mode of transport is by bicycle but most people seem to have a car. There is ample street parking or off street parking on the narrow driveway behind the front gate. Greyhound Buses operate a shuttle service from Brisbane Airport to Toowoomba and an Airport Flyer runs from Toowoomba's Wellcamp Airport and they will drop you off at the house. Other Things to NoteYou will be sharing with the home owner and the house is rarely vacant. The owner appreciates it when visitors remove outdoor shoes when entering the house - ie., only wear indoor shoes such as slippers or no shoes inside the house. Airbnb enquiries are welcome from responsible people who are either employed or mature age students studying on campus. International students are most welcome - several have lived long term in my home and enjoyed the ambience. A high standard of cleanliness is provided & expected.

The SpaceVery relaxed atmosphere, if you are seeking a home away from home feeling you may just enjoy staying here..:) The home is open plan with two living areas, your own bathroom, a quiet garden space outside to chill, and a secure place to park your car at night. It's a very quiet street with no thru traffic. Breakfast is included - I have muesli, fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt and toast available for breakfast and there is plunger coffee and tea for guests also. Feel free to bring your own food and cook up a storm in the kitchen for any of your meals you would like to self prepare. There is also a music room in the house and guests are more than welcome to have a jam with the host if they request it! (and if he's home). There is a laundry available for use also. I am a well travelled host and enjoy the opportunities for interaction with guests and fellow travelers. This is a true home and I hope that guests feel as relaxed and at home here as I do. The house is big enough to well and truly have your own privacy and space. If you like an early morning or late afternoon walk, there are parks and quiet streets all through this area of Toowoomba. I live in a neighborhood where the neighbors help out when needed and we have a street party every christmas. Kind of like family without the family dramas! It's a very quiet street (cul de sac) and noise and traffic is minimal. Bus stop 200 metres from house, goes into the city centre. Would be best to have your own car, but public transport is available. Secure car parking in garage. Wifi for guests use also. The SpaceThe 1930s house is full of character and charm with Hoop Pine floors, high ceilings, attractive art & other period features. 2 cats reside here permanently. The kitchen is fully equipped and set up with an efficient gas cook top, electric oven, 2 drawer dishwasher and French doors that open out to a deck (with an insulated roof). The newly renovated bathroom is a good size & has a toilet. There is also a second toilet off the internal laundry. This house is oriented north east (so sun in the winter & shade in the summer) and from every window or door you look onto nature. Guest AccessBoth bedrooms are comfortably furnished with good quality mattresses, robes, good quality bedding, towel & towel rack, floor rugs, bedside tables & table lamps. Guests have full access to cooking facilities, a beautiful new bathroom, laundry, garden and deck. While I don't provide entertainment for guests there is reliable internet with unlimited download should you have an electronic device/laptop. Interaction with GuestsI am at home most of the time ... gardening, reading or sewing. Apart from your room there are private spaces one can sit, particularly on the deck or in the garden where its possible to retreat and take in the local wildlife, particularly the Superb Fairy Wrens, magpies, parrots & honey eaters. The NeighborhoodSouth Toowoomba is an historic suburb so there is interesting architecture and established trees. Its centrally located to supermarkets, eateries, medical centres, library, fitness centres, aquatic entre, art galleries and parks. Queens Park is about a 15 min walk and at the northern end of the park is the TAFE and Cobb & Co Museum (and a café). Getting AroundLocal buses run to town and to and from the university via Ruthven Street or Hume Streets. Timetables are available online (URL HIDDEN) but to be truly independent you are wise to have back up transport; a car or bicycle. Buses don't run in the evenings nor on Sundays. Other Things to NoteTwo pussy cats live here: one prefers to live outside and the other inside. They are entire opposites but are both endearing and enjoy the occasional pat. Even if you aren't a 'cat person' they still appreciate being acknowledged.
