The SpaceCute, renovated cottage, mostly newly painted 'smoke free' home & gardens. Wide Hoop Pine floorboards, high ceilings, new kitchen, new bathroom, (2nd toilet). 3 bed + deck + front sun room. The north-east facing house is tastefully furnished, comfortable & filled with character. There is a beautiful new deck (with an insulated roof) that overlooks the private large back garden. Two pussy cats permit humans to live here, so you need to be considerate to animals. While I don't permit cats to enter a guest's room after a check-in, if you have allergies to cats my home may not suit you.
One double sized bedroom with queen sized bed has been booked to a professional male who stays here part time (until end of March 2017). I can only offer accommodation for singles until March & offer a discounted rate if you are staying for either a 7 day + period or 28 days or more (to qualify for the reduction, one month's needs to be paid in advance). Over longer periods the house ideally suits no more than 3 adults. Guest AccessGuests have a choice of a single bed either in the 3rd bedroom or in the sun room. Each room includes a wardrobe, side table & bedside lamp, towel rack, floor rugs, bed linen and towels. Wi-Fi internet with unlimited download is included in your rate and there is a smart shared bathroom, internal laundry with a separate toilet. There are 3 sets of French doors in the house. One set opens out to a deck off the kitchen (fully equipped dishwasher, gas cook top, microwave, electric oven, oven toaster & ample crockery and cutlery). All utilities (gas, electricity, water, wi-fi internet & cleaning are included in your nightly tariff .
I don't provide entertainment for guests. There is occasional access to a TV in the living room (or you can watch programs online). There is roof insulation & gas heating (& air-con) in the main living area. Ceiling fans are installed in the kitchen & the double bedroom Interaction with GuestsDaily interaction however privacy is respected & expected. The NeighborhoodThe 1930s cottage is situated in a pretty, heritage listed, tree-lined street, 15 mins. walk to Queens Park, Toowoomba's Central Business District & walking distance to shopping centres, cinemas, convenience stores, eateries, restaurants, medical & fitness centres, Library, the Empire Theatre, bike shops, educational & swimming facilities. The TAFE is a 5 minute drive and the University is about 10 mins drive from South Toowoomba. Getting AroundThere is a regular public transport system between my home & town or to the University (USQ) but buses do not operate in the evenings or on Sundays. My preferred mode of transport is by bicycle but most people seem to have a car. There is ample street parking or off street parking on the narrow driveway behind the front gate. Greyhound Buses operate a shuttle service from Brisbane Airport to Toowoomba and an Airport Flyer runs from Toowoomba's Wellcamp Airport and they will drop you off at the house. Other Things to NoteYou will be sharing with the home owner and the house is rarely vacant. The owner appreciates it when visitors remove outdoor shoes when entering the house - ie., only wear indoor shoes such as slippers or no shoes inside the house.
Airbnb enquiries are welcome from responsible people who are either employed or mature age students studying on campus. International students are most welcome - several have lived long term in my home and enjoyed the ambience. A high standard of cleanliness is provided & expected.
