The SpaceYear round two bedroom cottage located on the south end of Molasses Pond on a southwest facing lot for beautiful sunsets. The property is on a small cove with plenty of rocks to keep out the heavy boat traffic. There is one neighbor across the street that is rarely here as well as a neighbor on one side that can not be seen and is also rarely around making this a very quiet area of Molasses Pond. We have a float out in the middle of the cove that is shared with four other cottages. We also have a mooring that accomodates up to a 19' boat. The dock will also accomodate a 17.5' boat. The cottage itself was built in 2005. It has a full length waterside deck and spa with views of the pond. Relax and enjoy watching and listening to the loons. The cottage is fully insulated eliminating the need to open any windows during the hottest days. It is finished 100% in T&G pine and includes a full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, one full bathroom with tub/shower combo, and a half bath with a washer and dryer. One bedroom has a queen sized bed, the other bedroom has a bunk bed which has a double bed on bottom and a twin on top. The couch also folds down to a double bed and there is a sleeping loft with two twin beds (the loft is only for sleeping and is best for 7-15 year olds). Guest Access Included in the rental price are two kayaks and two canoes for your use as well as a combination gas and charcoal grill. Now is a great time to get some spring fishing in. Reserve your vacation now! Interaction with GuestsYour hosts Jeff and Melissa are close enough if you need anything during your stay and can be there usually within an hour if needed. Other than that, you will be left alone to enjoy your vacation! The NeighborhoodMolasses Pond is located 30 minutes north of Ellsworth in the small town of Eastbrook. The pond is 1252 acres and is known for its salmon and brown trout fishing. It has been recently illegally stocked with smallmouth bass, and there is currently no size or bag limit on them. Come catch them all. There are some big ones too! There are also brook trout, white perch, and of course sunfish! There are thousands of acres of woodland that surrounds the lake, some of which is the Lyle Frost Wildlife Management Area which is open to roam around on and there are also thousands of other acres currrently open for anyone to use as well. Getting Around There is access to miles of snowmobile and ATV trails, as well as land to find blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries or to go out in search of wildlife in the area that includes deer, moose, bear, grouse, turkey, etc. It is only an hour drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park and also an hour drive to the Schoodic Section of the park. The SpaceYou must spend at least a week in this lovely rural area of coastal Maine to appreciate all it has to offer. Drive by rolling hills of wild blueberry barrens before you head out for lobster or clams at one of the many restaurants and BBQ pits. Hike and bike in Acadia Nat'l Park or spend a day or evening shopping in Bar Harbor. Can you fit in a Whale Watch excursion? Come back to Crow's nest to relax or prepare a meal you can be proud of. Cook some hot dogs or s'mores over the fire pit and then listen to the loons and watch the sun set over the pine trees and calm waters of Graham Lake. Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, fishing, or swimming from our dock. Best feature for you might be the large screened in porch w/ view of the lake. Up in the loft you'll find twin beds and some kids' books as was well as a cozy corner for watching a movie or streaming some TV or music. Interaction with GuestsWe are so lucky to have our adult daughters and their families living nearby. They will be available if need be. We, Brad and Diane, are only a phone call away, but we may get to meet you too. The NeighborhoodMost houses along our private road are hidden among trees. There is an acre of dense woods to the left and more trees and a house to the right that are not visible from Crows' Nest. Nice neighbors; Paul built our house and Debi kept up the yard work until we moved in. People along the way are quiet and private. Deer will walk through our property occasionally, and a chattering squirrel or two is the annoyance you will experience most. Mosquitoes and black flies can be pesty in the spring and summer evenings. The small mouth bass get fat on them. If you get out on the water and explore the many islands in Graham Lake (we can let you know where to rent boats) fresh air and breezes will follow your path. Seldom do we see a boat with more than paddles or a small motor. It's a quiet lake, especially in the quiet cove in front of our property. There's a boat landing nearby. The SpaceThis is a little camp situated on Graham Lake, in Mariaville, Maine. Graham is 26 miles long, shallow and perfect for kayaking and experiencing a quiet lake atmosphere. Loons, Eagles and many species of fish make this lake home. The lake is a working lake, with a small hydro damn at distal end, and unique as its shallowness deters high speed boating and jet-skis. This quiet, family-oriented area is meant for a couple or family intent on star gazing and reading, fire-fly catching and bird watching. If intent on late nights and a party atmosphere, this property is perhaps not your best choice. A bunk room with two single beds, and a small dock with the use of two kayaks is included in stay. Nearby are neighbors where fresh eggs can be purchased, and The Otis General store is just a few miles away for necessities. The camp does not have central heat, so to maintain warmth and the water service when temperatures drop below freezing, the wood stove will need to be maintained to keep camp cozy. In the fall months, water levels of the lake recede, and the area in front of camp becomes an estuary where birds migrate, and water access is still possible but is a short walk from the property. Guest AccessThere is WiFi, and decent cell phone service if you have to have your phone on (pity!). There is a book exchange, please feel free to take one and leave one if you have one. The use of 2 Old Town kayaks, a small rowboat, and a little dock with two fishing poles are available. This area around the camp is shallow and perfect for young children to wade and play. Kitchen amenities include a propane stove top and large convection table top oven, toaster, tea kettle and French Press and a Keurig, as well as a refrigerator and full kitchen. Weber propane BBQ and one tank of fuel also included. There is a beverage fridge on the screened porch and a water cooler with 2 jugs of water. Interaction with GuestsOn arrival and departure and as needed for any concerns The NeighborhoodThis is a quiet, 4 season, easy to access gravel camp road. It's camp living and the neighbors who are year round are dedicated to the lifestyle that embraces the outdoors and all that a Maine camp experience provides. Getting AroundThis can only be accessed by car. Easy to find and not isolated. Neighbors do reside on both sides but these are seasonal owners who spend only a few weeks a year in their properties. Other Things to NoteThis camp has experienced a complete renovation, and is one of the first camps to be constructed in area in 1960's.

The SpaceCABIN DETAILS Our log cabin in the woods is tucked away in a sunny clearing. The gravel roads you drive on to get to the property are passable by any type of vehicle and are well-maintained year round. There are a few small cabins that surround the larger one that is featured...these smaller cabins will most likely be locked and vacant. From time to time my husband and I might be staying in one of the small cabins. We are always happy to answer any questions about the cabin or give recommendations for things to do in the area. But we want all guests to enjoy the property as their own and you'll hardly know we're there! RUSTIC/MODERN Our place is rustic but has a lot of modern features. First, the "rustic" nature...all floors are painted plywood and there are a few walls and ceilings that are studs and plywood. The "modern" features are pretty standard things you would expect anywhere...hot water, indoor toilet and shower, power, tv with DVD player, wifi, gas stove, refrigerator, electric baseboard heat, ceiling fans, etc. SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS The cabin currently has beds for 10 people. The main floor has a bunk bed in the downstairs bedroom and a pullout sofa bed in the living room. The large sleeping loft has one regular queen bed, two queen platform beds with twin mattresses on them, and two twin mattresses on the floor. Guest AccessAs our guests you have full and private access to the main log cabin. The cabin has seven wooded acres so guests are free to hike around a bit. We have a fire ring and a gas outdoor grill for your use as well. Feel free to use our camp chairs around the fire pit or on the big front porch. We own shared private access to Graham Lake that is a short drive/walk from the cabin. Graham Lake is a large 9000 acre lake with plenty of fishing for smallmouth bass, white perch, chain pickerel, landlocked salmon, and brook trout. You may use our parking pass for the Beech Hill Pond beach. This is a gorgeous crystal clear natural lake about a ten minute drive from the cabin. The NeighborhoodSome of our local favorites... Mariaville Falls Preserve - nice pretty easy hike to waterfalls, great fishing Beech Hill Pond - gorgeous, crystal clear pond with great fishing Lamoine State Park - small day pass fee $6, gorgeous quiet park Airline Brewing Company - two locations very different setting...both great!
