The cottage on Westport Island is a 1913 Victorian Cottage which we have owned since 1970. The house is old and quirky, but very comfortable, and it has been lovingly maintained by head carpenter, Paul, over the years. Many members of my family have poured their love and sweat into this property. The cottage has four bedrooms, two large screened porches, two bathrooms, washing machine, dryer, standard simple kitchen, and high ceilings on the first floor. New mattresses in two bedrooms. The house is NOT wheel chair accessible. There are antiques in the house...family pieces that we treasure., Warning: there is a small t-v in the house to watch DVD's, but no cable or satellite, so come prepared to listen to the radio, and play cards, games, and badminton. In 2011, we did add Wi-Fi, so you can get E-mail. The owner has discontinued the use of moth balls. We now use dryer sheets instead. We own frontage on the Sheepscot River, and belong to an association which owns a STEEP path to the water where there is a boathouse and small mussle-covered beach. The river is tidal, and the saltwater is COLD, so it is a great river for boating. Children under 10 years of age must wear a PFD when near the water, a new safety rule to keep kids safe. There are wonderful lake and ocean swimming beaches within a half hour drive. Renovation of the downstairs bathroom is complete and we now have a washer and a dryer in the new mudroom. Cottage

Go back in time and experience the unusual by staying in a turn-of-the-Century Victorian Cottage on the coast of Maine. Located on Westport Island, 10 minutes from Wiscasset, Maine. Sleeps 8, 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 porches, in a quiet setting. $875.00/week, sec. deposit required, plus Maine tax, no pets allowed and non-smokers preferred. Available weekly June 27, 2015 to August 1, 2015. Rent Saturday to Saturday in July, and any combination of days in May, June, and September, and enjoy all that the coast of Maine has to offer. The cottage on Westport Island is a 1913 Victorian Cottage which we have owned since 1970. The house is old and quirky, and it has been lovingly maintained by head carpenter, Paul, over the years. Warning: there is a small t-v in the house to watch DVD's, but no cable or satellite, so come prepared to listen to the radio, and play cards, games, and badminton. In 2011, we did add Wi-Fi, so you can get E-mail. The owner has discontinued the use of moth balls, but the smell may linger. It is a luxury to now have a dryer. Beds: 1 Queen Bed, 1 Double Bed, 4 Twin Beds

SUNRISE The perfect romantic retreat, Sunrise will make you fall in love all over again! Incredible breath stealing views of the tidal river near the Ovens’ Mouth Preserve is just full of aquatic wildlife like seals, sturgeon, osprey and eagles. This property is on a point of land offering water views on three sides as the river curves around the property. The house follows the same curve and was built to blend with the beautiful woodsy environment. Ovens Mouth and Ovens Mouth Preserve are famous in this part of the world, especially to the boating community. Known for the reversing falls, the convergence of Back and Cross rivers as they head for the Sheepscot River and the the Atlantic Ocean, this area is home to eagles and heron. SO MUCH TO SEE, SO MUCH TO DO! In 1994 the Boothbay Region Land Trust purchased 146 acres on Ovens Mouth, including both the eastern and middle peninsulas. Walking trails and spectacular kayaking are thoroughly enjoyed by locals and visitors from far and wide. With a rich history and incredible natural beauty this area is now protected for all to enjoy. The narrow passages and rich tidal basins, rocky cliffs and tree lined hillsides all make beautiful scenery and photographic opportunities on misty days as well as bright sunny ones! Large sailing yachts and single-man lobster boats, day-sailers and canoers share these waters and add to the views. Explore this amazing location on the Boothbay peninsula by land or by sea and you will want to come back year after year! THE HOUSE The house is just beautiful, built in 1999 as a two-story family home. The owners have carved out a gorgeous condo on the ground floor, keeping the top floor for themselves, though they rarely have the opportunity to visit. The condo has its own private entrance and curves along the water side of the house, each room has water views and doors leading to the flagstone patio and manicured, colorful gardens. French doors lead from the bedroom into the open, airy living room. The condo is tiled throughout, helping to keep it nice and cool in the summer. Like the rest of the condo, the kitchen and dining are open, spacious and offer those unbelievable views. Gorgeous wood accents, simple and elegant décor and amazing views from the many windows are the hallmarks of this luscious condo. The landscaped gardens and paths meander down the hill to the home’s private dock and float (shared with the owners when they are in-house) with deep water moorings available. Guests can bring their own boat (or rent locally) so ask your reservationist for details. If you like to kayak or canoe, day sail or rowboat, you will absolutely LOVE this spot! BEDROOMS The master bedroom suite includes queen bed and a gorgeous wood burning brick fireplace. French doors lead out to the garden and flagstone patio. BATHROOMS The newly renovated full bathroom has a shower/tub combination. WHAT ELSE WILL YOU NEED? Be sure to let us help you create the perfect vacation! WHY BOOK WITH COTTAGE CONNECTION? Vacation Rentals. Privately Owned. Professionally Managed. Trusted since 1993. Cottage Connection was one of the first vacation rental companies in the Mid-coast region of Maine. Jeff and Audrey Miller, who own three vacation rental homes themselves had an aha moment when they realized they could not find anyone who ‘got it’ to manager their rentals for them. Since 1993 they have been trusted by homeowners and vacationers to “connect” each family with the perfect cottage for their vacation. As Audrey puts it; “The home they stay in becomes a personality, a part of their lore when a family connects with the right cottage. Whether they want a rustic cabin in the woods or a high-end ocean bungalow, the right setting sets the tone for the entire vacation.” Learn more about how Cottage Connection can help make your vacation perfect!
