The NeighborhoodTottenham is a very diverse and lively area. It has excellent transport links to Oxford Street in the centre of London and other parts of the city. Stoke Newington is just down the road. Getting AroundSeven Sisters on the Victoria line is the closest tube, about 20 minutes walk or quicker if you hop on a bus. It is a ten minute walk from Bruce Grove train station and the South Tottenham overground is 20 minutes away. Excellent and frequent bus service.

      The SpaceThe large (120sq ft) double bedroom with comfortable double bed that sleeps two people. Being east facing the room gets the sun in the morning through the large bay window. There's plenty of storage with a wardrobe, two chest of drawers and a TV and DVD. I can provide you with cables to enable you to connect your laptop to the TV if you wish. I have a WiFi enabled printer so will be happy to print out travel documentation, tickets, boarding passes etc Guest AccessGuests have access to the lounge, which has a comfortable sofa and lounge chair. There's a large flat screen 3D Smart TV (around 200 channels), home theatre system with Blu-ray, Xbox 360 and Xbox 1. We also have Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming TV. For the musical there's an electric piano. 50MB unlimited wireless cable broadband. The well-equipped kitchen has everything the keen cook requires, including two coffee machines, oven, hob, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. There's also a washing machine and tumble dryer if you need to do any laundry. The large bathroom has a bath and shower and boasts underfloor heating. The garden has an area of decking and chairs and loungers are available. Interaction with GuestsI live in the property so will be happy to chat, provide advice for those visiting London for the first time and make recommendations on what to do, where to go, eat etc So far guests and I have shared meals on occasion: there have been several BBQs, a Chinese dumpling night and some trips to my local awesome Turkish. The NeighborhoodEdmonton Green is a vibrant, multi-cultural community with good local shopping and restaurants - the Turkish restaurants in particular are excellent. There are a range of large and small shops in the nearby shopping centre and it's possible to buy a wide range of international food and ingredients, fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. Getting AroundAbout 25 minutes to the City or Central London. There's a regular and reliable train service from the local station, which is only a short walk from the house, taking you directly into the City or one quick change to take you to the heart of London's West End. Numerous bus services are also available from the nearby bus station and several good 24hr bus services mean you can get to and from pretty much anywhere in London at any time of day or night. Getting from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton are fairly straight forward - I provide all guests with directions, advice, maps etc prior to arrival. We have a lot of local knowledge and are happy to help with directions and can somrtimes provide local lifts or a "taxi" to the station / airport We are internationally minded and enjoy meeting people from other places. We have 1 large family room available at the moment, There is a king size bed and 1 single, as well as space to sit and relax together. We can provide a futon mattress and / or airbeds for additional children. You can share our kitchen / diner, garden, WIFI, 2 bathrooms, etc. There is free roadside parking. Price is for 2 people sharing a room. Additional guests- £15 each. "Help yourself" breakfast is included. Please feel free to discuss your requirements with us. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is vibrant, multicultural, and friendly. Yesterday i had been talking to Somali woman about a community event planned for next weekend. She showed me her brothers restuarant, and later i went in. I was given juice and fish soup on the house, while i waited for my delicious "special of the day" takeaway of roasted salmon fillet with seasoned spinach, mashed potato, boiled egg. In other contianers were sauce, a huge homemade chapati, salad. Another contianer had fruit salad in it... it was all delicious ...all for a £5 -a fiver ! Getting AroundIt is best to check and buy on line before you arrive, the Oyster cards you will need to travel around London. That way you can use them from the very beginning of your stay until the end.

Interaction with GuestsNaomi and I are open to interact with guests, but don't wish to infringe upon their personal space, vice versa. Either both of us, or just myself will also be staying here when a guest is staying in our home. The NeighborhoodYou can take the W3 bus from our home for a short bus ride directly to Alexandra Palace and enjoy the scenery from London's highest point! Alexandra Palace has venues that regularly hosts events, and also there is expansive greenery and parks that could be enjoyed. Getting AroundW3 bus (approx 30 seconds from our home) takes you directly to Wood Green tube station in just a few short stops, or the other direction to the overground station, White Hart Lane, also just a few short stops. From either these stations it is easy to get to the centre of London. Alternative bus routes are also possible.

The lounge is a sunny and cosy living room with a gas fire place, large windows, polished wood floor and faces a lovely front garden. The bedroom is situated at the back of the flat providing extra privacy from the living area, it has a king sized bed, large windows giving a lot of light and ample view of the back garden. Bathroom has a large bath tub and an over-head power shower, washing basin and w/c. It also has a large window and an extractor fan providing adequate ventilation and light. A separate kitchen and dinning area that sits 4, is fully fitted including a cooker, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, clothes dryer, fridge, freezer and microwave plus a wide selection of other culinary essentials for a keen cook or baker. The garden is leafy and secluded with a separate patio / BBQ area. Being keen gardeners, our herb and veg patch provides a wide range of herbs, flowers and vegetables in the summer months.         The SpaceOur sunny and comfortable guest room has its own shower room and a bed which can be used as a single, twin or super king. Our traditional Victorian double-fronted home is full of quirky features but has all the modern conveniences you could wish for. The room is on the ground floor and has it's own EN SUITE shower room for your exclusive use. Note, for those of you with allergies, that we have a CAT ! FREE ON-STREET PARKING There's room to safely park a motor bike or pushbike off the road. The house is situated in a quiet one-way street with mostly unrestricted car parking except on football match days, when we can give you a parking permit. This only happens about once a fortnight in the football season. Our street is not affected by the match traffic at all therefore and remains very peaceful even on match days, although the local train stations get busy just before and just after, as you'd expect. It is particularly quiet here at night. TRADITIONAL HOUSE It is a semi-detached end-of-terrace double-fronted house from about 1900. Lucky for us, the previous owners had gone to a lot of trouble extending and improving the property. The garden is big and charming, it has a covered deck with a table and chairs, a small pond and a lawn. Double glazed and centrally heated. Lots of traditional features too. YOUR BEDROOM We have invested in a 'trundle bed' setup for the guest room with medium-firm mattresses - this means that you can have either a single bed and lots of floor space or two singles or a super king. Just let us know. There's a desk, wifi, comfy chair, table, lots of clean towels and good quality bedding and pillows. Let us know if you have a preference for feather or non-feather bedding. You have your own private shower room with window. We would like to have guests who are independent and helpful, who have common sense and are just as happy to do their own thing or be friendly and sociable as feels right for them. We are often very busy - I have three different jobs, including running my own company (communication skills) and working as a musician. We both sometimes work long hours. Hence it being great to have guests who are independent and can make themselves at home. Sometimes I am at home during the day and I have an office/workroom upstairs where I may be making work calls. Chris is a cranial osteopath, practising mostly in Stoke Newington and the West End. Sometimes he works evenings or is in Herefordshire a few days a fortnight, seeing patients there. If you would like to have a treatment with Chris while you are here, in his treatment room at home or at his other practices, let us know. ATTRACTIONS! From our house you can be in trendy STOKE NEWINGTON in less than ten minutes on the train and visit one of the most stunning Victorian cemeteries in London, or why not go to SHOREDITCH with its arty markets and nearby fashionable HOXTON bars and art galleries. By changing onto the Victoria line you can be in OXFORD STREET within half an hour door-to-door. The champagne bars of St Pancras are even closer if you alight at KINGS CROSS. It is only 25 minutes to get to LIVERPOOL STREET where you can jump on the Central Line via ST PAUL'S and get quickly all the way out to West London and NOTTING HILL. TRANSPORT in DETAIL - The property is equidistant from White Hart Lane Station and Northumberland Park, under ten minutes walk at a good pace. We are in Zone 3 so a travel card covering 1-4 is what you might get for a day, costing £8 off peak and £11 peak. You can use an Oyster card on all our local transport services. We have a spare oyster card that you can borrow during your stay. TRAINS FROM WHITE HART LANE run every 15 minutes (or more during busy times). Overall journey time to Liverpool Street is about 25 mins. You will pass through Seven Sisters after a few minutes, where you can jump onto the Victoria Line - a very quick way to get into the West End. Or you can stay on for another five minutes and get out at Stoke Newington, where there are many lovely restaurants, bars and bookshops. The final destination is Liverpool Street Station in the City, convenient for the Central Line amongst others. TRAINS FROM NORTHUMBERLAND PARK are less frequent but run via Tottenham Hale (also Victoria Line) and on to Stratford in East London. This is useful if you want to take the lines through East and South East London eg Jubilee Line or catch the STANSTED AIRPORT EXPRESS TRAIN at Tottenham Hale or get to CITY AIRPORT. Even easier is to get a mini cab to/fro Tottenham Hale - this costs about £7 and takes ten minutes. Then you are straight onto the Victoria Line which is very quick. PREFER THE BUS? There is a 24-hour bus service very close by, the 149, if you are out late - and plenty other buses serve the area. NEARBY GROCERY SHOPS There is a massive Sainsbury's supermarket nearby on the corner of Northumberland Park and Tottenham High Road. The area is still in need of development and most of the smaller, local shops focus on opportunities to place a bet, buy a kebab or get a tattoo. The neighbours and local shop owners are friendly, we have Turks, Irish and West Indians, mostly. Tottenham is becoming fashionable because it still has potential and there are many lovely properties here - artists' studios are springing up as the prices further south in Dalston and Shoreditch become unaffordable to the arty hipsters and the Hoxton Fins. Massive investment is planned for the next two years and so there is quite a buzz about the area. PRICE NEGOTIABLE We are happy to negotiate a discounted price based on length of stay and how many of you there are - just let me know and I will quote you a special price. NEED A BATH? If you fancy a bath instead of a shower while you are here, just let us know and you can use our bathroom upstairs. Feel free to make use of the dining kitchen if you would like to prepare a meal at home or feel free to sit outside on the deck in the garden. We appreciate if you mostly keep food and drink out of your bedroom and there is a table in the kitchen or in the garden where you can sit and eat. Our private space is upstairs and we have priority over the living room downstairs (see below - guest access). If you crave a bath instead of a shower, let us know and that can be arranged. We are usually around during your stay though sometimes both quite busy with work, we are very happy to interact with you and assist with any enquiries you might have about the local area or London as a whole. A real London neighbourhood, not a tourist area. It is not yet 'gentrified' so you are not going to find any cool cafes near the house - you need to go 7 minutes on the local train down the road to Stoke Newington for that! And we do have a good Sainsbury's supermarket within a few minutes walk. The area is good for Turkish restaurants and cafes. It's really quiet here at night as we are in a residential street. The neighbours are really friendly and pleasant. The transport links are really good - you can be in the West End in half an hour door to door and in the City in about the same. Our house is ideal for a couple, small family or 3 – 4 friends who need a base to explore London and the Olympics. Close enough to the Olympic Park to arrive in under an hour. This is a bustling, cosmopolitan part of London with great restaurants, local shops and pubs. Our simple but delightful and spacious home was built in 1920 and was refurbished last year. The house is on a quiet road, set just off the High Road but close to excellent transport links. There is a private south-facing rose garden, with off street parking should you need it. Downstairs there is a large front living room, a medium size dining room opening into the kitchen area, and a separate utility room. The kitchen is fully fitted with a dishwasher and fridge/freezer leading onto the garden outside. Virgin media TV and wifi internet you can use. Comfortable sofa that can sleep one person, in a pinch. Upstairs, there is a light-filled double bedroom and a single bedroom/study, and a bathroom with a shower and bath. Hot water and central heating. Fresh linen and towels provided. Seven Sisters tube station is 15 minutes away by frequent bus, and on the Victoria Line. Kings Cross is 10 minutes away, Oxford Circus just 14 minutes. Stratford and the Olympic Stadium are just 10 minutes by train from Tottenham Hale or Northumberland Park stations. This is a spacious and clean non-smoking house, which we hope you can make your pad for the Olympics and return as our much loved home.
