The SpaceThis is a great place to come relax and stay for awhile. Wake every morning to the sound of birds chirping. The house is located in a small, quiet village. Take a hike through the pine forests or visit the cows, bee hives, sugar cane, corn and bean fields just below the village. Three simple, freshly-cooked Mexican meals are included and are served daily by my mother-in-law, doña Catalina. I enjoyed hosting many Airbnb visitors when I was living in Washington, DC, and I hope to host more folks here in Mexico. I love that it's off the popular Oaxacan tourist circuit, and I'm sure you will too--it's uniquely Oaxacan. There is a direct van service (nearly hourly) from Oaxaca City to Putla. We can arrange transportation from Putla to here (1 hr). The NeighborhoodThis is a scenic, rural village. It is very safe, and people are very laid-back. Getting AroundThere is a bus to Putla once a day, but most passing pickup trucks will take passengers for a minimal fee (USD$1-2).

The SpaceOur ranch offers an opportunity to go back to nature and live off the grid in a sustainable and ethical way. Our cabin is built with adobe and other traditional building techniques. We built the natural pool was using superadobe and eco-friendly materials. We are big supporters of renewable energy using solar power and handcrafted torches for lighting the space. The whole ranch was built by our family using local skills and techniques, we have taken attention to every detail and would be delighted that this makes your trip unique. The ranch is off the grid: there is no mains electricity, very little mobile coverage and no internet access. But there is plenty of wildlife, nature to be explored and the peace and tranquility that you don't find in the village. Guest AccessYou are free to explore the whole 10 hectares! Interaction with GuestsWhen you check in you could contact us at the house in the village so we can take you to the ranch. The whole family is involved looking after the ranch and its guests.
