The Space350 sqf Baja brick chalet with bóveda catalana ceiling, Cali king size bed, and autochthonous Mexican accents. Interaction with GuestsWe're here to ensure your effortless indulgence. The Neighborhoodwe're down a sandy road in a wild 19th century Baja frontier village, just 10 minutes West of La Paz. This is not a tourist area, which is why we have access to the best, solitary beaches and unspoiled coastline. However our village is an esthetic challenge maybe comparable to rural parts of Morocco. So if you expect gentrified Mexican charm, oops. Getting Aroundpublic transport nearby, but a car is needed to enjoy natural wonders!

The ideal place for individuals and couples interested in experiencing down to earth no-nonsense Baja culture, maybe learning some Spanish and exploring the desert, sierra and solitary beaches. Our petit B&B is an atrium style house, built around a laurel tree graced by brick arches and bougambilias. Just as Baja is a contradictory land of desert and sea, Casa Xochitl is a jovial, unorthodox atmosphere embracing Southern Baja's agreeable sub-tropical climate. Over the years we have lovingly shaped rustic Mexican charm into an eclectic, unflustered habitat, a sensible space, a relaxed & stimulating hosted environment on an ostensibly foreign planet. Relax, indulge and savor every surprise: gourmet or intellectual. We're located down a sandy road on the edge of a laid back 19th century frontier village, a few minutes from solitary beaches and a quick drive al malecón. options: 1) adobe brick bungalow with hand-crafted palapa 2) adobe brick bungalow with vaulted ceiling hi-speed WIFI daily housekeeping, beach shuttle & organic slow-food cuisine on short notice Guest Accessour private 2 acre palm forest sprinkled with Palo de Arco bushes, agaves and mezquite trees, great spot for a walk just across the street Interaction with GuestsYour hosts Niurka and Mike are sagacious travelers and dedicated hosts who will make your stay enjoyable and stimulating. She's timid so you probably won't see her much, but she shows up to eat a couple of times a day. The other cat, Guerro, lives in the front property but doesn't know there's a difference between the back and the front. You may see him but he also likes quiet so won't likely stick around unless you pay attention. For you non-cat lovers...Owner Maureen is not a cat lover, but they don't bother if she ignores them. :)

Wonderful Studio close to the beach with everything you want for a great time. The location is in a little community at the inner bay, 100 yd to the beach down a sandy trail, about 10 miles from downtown La Paz. There is a King - size bed with an excellent orthopedic mattress and for extra guests a Futon Sofa which converts into a twin bed. For entertainment there are plenty of books, Satellite TV and a stereo. We also have a nice fishing boat, sail boats and kayaks for rent. For the hot season there is Air Condition, ceiling fans and upright fans. But the climate close to the beach is so comfortable, the A/C is rarely needed. The kitchen is complete with stainless steel pots and pans, all silverware, cutting boards, bowls, toaster, coffee maker, french press, microwave oven, 4 burner LP gas stove with oven, fridge with freezer part and everything to make a perfect meal. But why slave over the hot stove? There is an Italian restaurant in walking distance and 4 more nice eateries 3 driving minutes away, or walking about 15 minutes along the beach. Of course there are plenty of restaurants in all possible ethnic orientation and many sea food places with the freshest fish and shrimps at very low prices. Walk the beautiful Malecon and enjoy the real Mexican life. Sure, a big city has also plenty of night life too and with such an incredible low crime rate, it is safe to enjoy it. There are several nice assorted, low priced grocery stores close by and if you like to shop in really big markets, you have to drive to the town. Yes, if you don't just want to lay around the pool or the beach but like to explore the fantastic surroundings and bays, you need a car. It doesn't matter if you are right in downtown or at the inner bay like here. La Paz is not a Tourist trap and the typical tourist infrastructure is missing. There are gorgeous beaches and drives, but no public transportation and it would be a shame to miss it. There is a bus from here to town, leaving about every 30 minutes from a stop 15 walking minutes away, but we also will drive you to the bus stop if you like. Rental cars are really cheap, but the mandatory insurance is very expensive. There is NO third party insurance in Mexico. Your coverage with your credit card is not valid here. If you promise to treat our car like it is yours or even better, we give you a car for free. You only have to see an agency to make the insurance for it, which is lower than the rental car insurance since it is for a private vehicle. We won't let you drive without it. Bring your international drivers license along. You get it fast and cheap up north. Sorry, we have no night life here. No noise, no traffic, no drunks and the only nightly entertainment is by watching the huge Tecolote Owl fly by who is nesting in the palm tree, or watch the black Iguana come out of his hole in the 1,400+ year old cactus. Fix your night cap and listen to the mild evening breeze rustling in the palm trees. Bring your Spective with tripod or at least your binoculars along if you like to watch birds. There are so many, like the Road - runner who has his nest close by, Cardinals, Oreols, Quails, Wrens, different kind of Finches, Humming birds and so much more. An Ornithologist will have a "field day" here. If you want to see all the sea birds, from the blue and white Heron, Crane, Boobies, to the Ospray, Seahawks, Fregat birds, Hereman Seagull, Cormorans and so on, walk about 200 yd to a little Mangrove forest at the beach where you can watch all the sea birds you like. We also have two beaches, separated by the Mangrove forest. The first beach is in about 150 yd, but on very low tide a little shallow, at normal and high tide nice to swim. A hurricane took most of the fine white sand off into the water, but just around the Mangrove forest is another fine sandy beach where you can swim at any tide. The water is absolutely clean, no pollution and very safe. It is also great for fishing and collecting clams for dinner. Here is soooo much to see and to do and it will be our pleasure to sit down with a map and tell you all about the beauty our gorgeous country has to offer and also what to see and where to go. You will have the best and unforgettable time here.

Wonderful Studio close to the beach with everything you need for a great time. The location is in a little community at the inner bay, 100 yd to the beach down a sandy trail, about 10 miles from downtown La Paz. There are two separate beds which can be pushed together for e King - size bed. They have excellent orthopedic mattress and for extra guests a Futon Sofa which converts into a twin bed. For entertainment there are plenty of books and a stereo.
