The SpaceOur two-story country home is situated on nine acres just up the country lane from Folsom Lake. We have horses, dogs, cats, and chickens, so being an animal lover is an asset, though they can be kept at bay. We have hiking and riding trails, boating, kayaking, wine tasting, and bicycling in our "backyard". We are close to snow (winter months) for everything from skiing to dog sledding in the Sierra, and close to hot air ballooning and wine tasting, just to name a few of the many things to do. The Harris Center for Performing Arts is just15 minutes away, and we are close to the Palladio shopping center and movie theaters, as well as El Dorado Hills fabulous Town Center, with fine restaurants and live concerts. San Francisco is only two hours away, and California's world-famous Napa Valley is only one hour 40 minutes drive from our door, though we have local wineries and Apple Hill close by. Let us be your guide to a fabulous getaway vacation! Guest AccessGuests may enjoy their private room, bath, and balcony upstairs, as well as the kitchen, open great room, dining room, laundry, and half bath downstairs. We also have wicker chairs and tables along the wrap-around porch overlooking the patio which are lovely in mild weather. It is a short stroll to Folsom Lake, with miles of trails, as well as water recreation and wildlife. For our horsemen guests, we have a round pen and arena, as well as quick access to bridle paths on the lake. Call to discuss pets allowed please, and restrictions. Interaction with GuestsWe will be happy to actively host guests, answer their questions, and show them around. We also can respect their privacy, and provide them quiet retreat if they prefer. We do live on the premises, and are readily available for questions. The NeighborhoodWe are right by Apple Hill and numerous wineries, as well as Coloma, the site where John Sutter's workers discovered gold back in 1848. Take a tour of the gold mining museums, do a little gold panning, white water rafting, and wine tasting, all in our backyard. Walk the dogs down to the lake and do a little fishing. At night, there isn't the light pollution of a city, so the stars twinkle much brighter. In fact, we have a nearby observatory for the serious enthusiasts! On Sundays and Thursdays, visit the local farmers' market for everything from fresh flowers to local wines and crafts. Getting AroundYou will need a car for most trips, and rentals are available at the airports. We have ample easy free parking, and we'll provide your gate code upon booking. We are easy to find off the Highway 50 freeway. There are also boat rentals nearby, as well as horse rentals, balloon rides, whitewater rafting, and more. Public transportation via the Metro trains begins in nearby Folsom. We are negotiable to provide transportation and guide to local venues. Other Things to NoteWe can accommodate pets in part of the house and children on a case by case basis. We have a playpen/crib, changing table, stroller. There are nearby playgrounds and a zoo and miniature train ride for younger children. This is a working ranch, but we will do the absolute best we can to meet your needs.
