It offers a peaceful alternative to more crowded and noisy urban areas. From there, BART provides service to Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco and beyond. Bus & BART schedules/maps are provided if requested. Since we are not in a dense urban area, shops and stores are several miles away. Most guests will find having a car to be much more convenient.
Even though we are a little removed from San Francisco, our location is still convenient. For visitors with a car, an alternate route to San Francisco is via Highway 580 over the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge to Highway 101 which will take you directly into San Francisco, directly over the Golden Gate Bridge. This route takes you directly to Golden Gate Park and other areas such as Fisherman's Warf, avoiding the more congested SF downtown area and traffic backups at the toll plaza for the Bay Bridge.
The SF Bay Area is served by two airports - Oakland International and San Francisco International. Both have direct connections to the BART system. By prior arrangement we can meet arriving guests at a BART station ( El Cerrito Del Norte) not too far from our home.
