Heads Up: May a guest alter or cancel a long-term reservation?
The Long Term cancellation policy is automatically applied to all long-term reservations of 28 nights or more and requires a 30-day notice of lease termination (which applies to both alterations and cancellations). Please refer to the Long Term cancellation policy and the explanations below.
a. If a guest lengthens a long-term reservation, the host chooses to accept or decline the changes and the guest pays for any additional nights.
b. If a guest shortens a long-term reservation AND gives a 30-day notice or more from the new checkout date AND the reservation is still 28 nights or more, the guest pays through the new checkout date and the host does not have the option to accept or decline the changes.
c. When a guest shortens a long-term reservation AND the reservation is now 27 nights or less, the host has the option to (1) accept the changes and enforce the cancellation policy or (2) accept the changes and only charge for the actual nights stayed.*
d. When a guest shortens a long-term reservation AND gives less than a 30-day notice from the new checkout date AND the reservation is still 28 nights or more, the host has the option to (1) accept the changes and enforce the cancellation policy or (2) accept the changes and only charge for the actual nights stayed.*
For all alterations, service fees are adjusted automatically according to the reservation total: See more details on altering reservations.
If a guest cancels a long-term reservation before the check-in date, the first scheduled payment is paid to the host in full, and the guest is refunded the remaining amount. If the guest books a long-term stay and decides to cancel during the stay, the guest must use the online alteration tool.
