We are a short 5 minute walk to all these places as well as Coles supermarket (Fifth Avenue) and all the other convenience shops like fresh bread and cake stores, bottle shops, fast food (Subway) and services such as banks, pharmacies, doctors, dentists, hairdressers etc etc.
Venture along the beach for a 40 minute walk and indulge yourself with a special lunch at Burleigh Heads - we recommend either Oskars or Fish House just on the other side of the National Park walk. Head south to Currumbin and enjoy a cold beer or budget-priced meal and relax at the Vikings Club, right on the beach front with waves crashing around off the deck or the Boatshed on the Currumbin Creek for relaxed informal alfresco eating and drinking.
There is lots to do and whether you choose to just to relax on the balcony or explore all that the beautiful Gold Coast has to offer. Our apartment at Palm Beach is a great place to start as you settle yourself in as one of the best places to stay for your well-deserved break. Getting AroundBuses run regularly along the Gold Coast Highway to all tourist destinations including theme parks, Surfers Paradise are about approximately 30 - 40 minutes by bus. Coolangatta or Tweed Heads also a quick bus ride.
Coolangatta Airport is approx $2 - $5 fare and less than 10 minutes away and runs every 15 minutes from the airport and at Palm Beach. Look for Bus 777. Taxi to or from the airport is about $22.
Catching a bus to any of the larger shopping Centres such Pacific Fair at Broadbeach or Robina Shopping Centre are convenient, fast and safe and can be caught at any of the bus stops at Palm Beach shopping strip or at the front of the building or on the opposite side of the road.
If you are driving there is easy access to the M1 highway for Brisbane (approximately 1 hour drive) or Byron Bay approximately 40 minutes drive south. Lots to do around the Gold Coast Hinterland and worth even hiring a car if you have the time or can drag yourself away from the beach front. Other Things to NoteIf you like walking it's not too far to either end of the beach south to Currumbin to the Wildlife Sanctuary or north to Burleigh Heads through the national park makes for a good day out. Otherwise relaxing on the balcony and watching the joggers, skateboarders, cyclist along Jefferson Lane or whales, swimmers, surfers on the beach can't be beaten.
To get to the beach we always go to the basement level and walk through the games room exit which also leads to the pool. Then simply swipe the pool exit gate and walk 2 mins along Jefferson Lane to the Palm Beach Surf Club which is southwards. This beach has the surf flags for safe swimming.
If the surf is to strong walk to Currumbin Lagoon or Tallebudgera for protective swimming suitable for children.
