The SpaceWe've lived on these magical ten acres for the past six years, pouring our sweat and tears into slowly transforming this land into a permaculture paradise. You'll be able to explore our garden, sample fresh eggs from our free range chickens that forage in the orchard, hike around the pond full of croaking frogs, and enjoy deep, solid sleep that you just can't get in the bright city lights.
We provide linens, towels, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee, tea, sugar, dish soap, sponges, dish towels, and fresh eggs.
The guesthouse is new endeavor, with sustainable denim insulation, reclaimed building materials, and a renewable energy power plan. So come getaway and enjoy the country life in your own little home. Guest AccessWe have ten acres to explore, including a pond, garden, chicken coop, orchard, and wooded areas. We have some small pathways, but the more adventurous souls will require proper attire and bug spray for hiking through the wooded areas to slow flowing creek.
Our property is secure and accessible with a gate code. Hopefully being "unplugged" is part of what attracts you to staying with us but we do have "country" wireless (that can be slow at times) and all cell phones providers do work here. Interaction with GuestsWe will meet you on arrival to show you around the property and answer any questions you might have. We live onsite so we can help with any issues and give recommendations on dining and activities, but we are also great about giving our guests their space.
We are on a septic system so we prefer to only use eco friendly products. We provide shower essentials, soap, and dish washing liquid. The NeighborhoodWe are across the street from an 80 acre organic farm that is home to the first organic feed mill in Texas as well as free range hens, cattle, and sheep. In a simple stroll down the lane, you can see miniature horses, cattle, dogs, and a variety of wild birds.
We are 5 miles from downtown Elgin, which has boutique shops, antiques, cafes, and the Depot Museum. Getting AroundYou will need a car to access our property. We are close to highway 290, 20 miles east of Austin. There is ample parking onsite. Scenic country drives and biking abound. Once you make your booking, we will send you all the details/directions!
We are conveniently located just 30 minutes from the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. You can rent a car from the airport. Other Things to NoteA dog lives onsite and our neighbor has dogs that often come over to visit us. They are all friendly but loud barkers.
