The SpaceThis is a working farm with a vineyard, apple orchard, raspberries, and a large green garden. The house is located on the old mission peninsula. There are wonderful restaurants and wineries within minutes and town is a short 7 mile jaunt away. The house is quite modern downstairs with eames furniture and other retro touches all open spaces with views in every direction. The bedroom retains the old farmhouse feel with oak trim and antique furnishings. Your bedroom has a king seize bed and is very large. It overlooks a wonderful field and farmhouse. You have your private bathroom, just across the hall. The house is air-conditioned. We can't accommodate children + pets, and we don't allow smoking in the house.

The SpaceThe cabin can accommodate up to 6 people comfortably. You won't find many listings in the area that are this clean, inviting and updated, not to mention the view and unbelievable sunsets overlooking Old Mission Peninsula. With a library that overlooks the bay, cute shops, and great antique markets, Elk Rapids is a gem! The cabin is off the beaten path on the beautiful Bayshore Dr. There is not much traffic, it's the perfect street for biking or running! We do not have any neighbors nearby on either side of the property, so it is very private! 20 min to Traverse City 15 min to Torch Lake 40 min to Bellaire 40 min to Charlevoix 1 hr to Petoskey Getting AroundParking for 3 cars available Bikes are highly recommended! The SpaceThere are 3+ bedrooms, one double and one queen upstairs, one queen and one pull out double futon couch downstairs in a separate study. The house is approximately 1200 sf, ideal and spacious for a family, but can accommodate up to 8. A full kitchen has a dishwasher, and there is a washer and dryer in the basement. The SpaceOur family home since 2006 is a perfect, affordable multi-family home rental for the summer! Our wide open floor plan offers great conversation while our spacious backyard with patio under the shade of a maple tree is the ideal spot for a meal outside! Our Brand St. home will stocked with all the amenities you need including many appliances, utensils and spices in the kitchen to board games, books and puzzles around the house! This is our year round home so we've left many of the little things in the house that will make your trip just right! Guests have access to the entire home, including the 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and backyard property. The hot tub us unfilled and off limits. The garage is also off limits. After meeting the guests, the house is yours for the week! We do WEEKLY RENTALS ONLY (7 nights). It's a quiet, residential neighborhood with minimal traffic. We are walking distance to the grocery store (2 minutes) and two restaurants, Pearls New Orleans Kitchen and The Local (5 minutes). Also around the corner at the school are tennis courts and a kids playground. (3 minutes). The beach at Grand Traverse Bay is only a 15 minute walk or a short drive. There is no public transit in our small, northern Michigan town. =) We provide linens, towels, dishes and flatware, all brand new this or last summer. =) Guest AccessGuests have access to the entire home. The hot tub is not available for use nor is the garage or locked closets in the home. The SpaceOur house is set in 4 acres of lovely wooded and pastured land. 3 bedrooms have private balconies with incredible sunrise views of the lake. All our land is yours to explore and play in - should you not want to spend your time looking out at the beautiful views of the lake. In the garage you will find a host of outdoor games you can enjoy, great for adults or kids. Inside we have board games and a chef quality kitchen where you can cook to your heart's delight. Being only 10 miles from downtown Traverse City you are superbly positioned to enjoy the nearby wineries of Old Mission Peninsula along with easy access to the charms of TC. You can easily walk to at least two vineyards and the nearest restaurant is also less than a mile away as is the grocery store. And of course there are all the large, natural sand beaches a very short drive away. Old Mission Peninsula is filled with exciting things to do and the guidebook in our house lists some of our favourite spots along with a number of fun things to do in any season of the year. Summer, autumn, winter or spring this is a great place to be. Guest AccessWe want you to have a great time so you have access to almost our whole house including 4 bedrooms (1 california king, 1 queen, 1 full, and bunk w/ 2x twins), a den/spare bedroom with queen futon, large living room, kitchen and dining room. The SpaceThe Hughes House was the boarding house for Elk Rapids from about 1870 through 1900, at that time it was renovated and converted into two separate full living spaces one on each floor. The area is full of pristine lakes and rivers of all sizes, so if you love boating, swimming, fishing, or sailing, this is the place. 20 minutes from Traverse City 15 minutes from Torch Lake Getting AroundParking is available for up to five cars. Our road is great for biking and jogging along the shore of Traverse Bay. Other Things to NoteThe house is kid-friendly, including a Pack 'n' Play, a baby gate for the bottom of the stairs (and a door at the top of the stairs), kid-friendly DVDs, beach toys, and more! The front deck is screened with a lockable screen door, so you can relax outside, without worrying about your toddler (or motivated crawler) wandering off the deck.

Short drive to local ski areas in the winter. Mt. Holiday has a tube run fun for all ages. Getting AroundPark the car for the week and walk to the beach, the local movie theater (with $1.50 small popcorn!), excellent dining, the local marina, parks, an ATM and the post office.       Location! Location! Location! This tri-level home is the perfect up north getaway retreat in the desirable west side neighborhood of the Village of Elk Rapids. Minutes to everything Elk Rapids has to offer - walk a block and a half to the beach on Lake Michigan or 4 blocks to the adorable downtown shops of Elk Rapids – you are steps away from it all. The house offers three bedrooms and a full bath on the upper level, large family room, kitchen, eating area, half bath and deck on the main level, and two rooms and a half bath in the lower level with laundry facilities. This weekly rental includes wifi, flat screen TV with dvd player, two Paddlebouy paddle boards for use at the beach, gas grill on the large deck and a chiminea for evenings by the fire. A 4th bedroom is located in the walkout basement with a queen bed, plus the house offers a pull out couch on the lower level and a second pull out in the family room on the main floor. This house is available to rent on a weekly basis from June 12 to Labor Day weekend.

      Interior: Large open layout as you walk in, with a large living room and dining room to your right. Nice comfortable furniture, large flat screen TV, DVD player, cable, wifi, electric fireplace and large windows that display the views towards Elk Lake. The bedroom on the main level features two twin beds, that can be pushed together to make a king. The remaining 3 bedrooms reside upstairs; the second bedroom featuring a king size bed, the 3rd bedroom features a queen size bed and the 4th bedroom features a set of twin bunk beds. There are 2 full bathrooms in the home fully stocked with linens, one on the main level that has double his/her sinks & a tub/shower. The second bathroom is upstairs and also features a stand up shower. Downstairs there is a laundry area with a full size washer and dryer. The kitchen is spacious with plenty of storage and features all stainless steel appliances (including a built in wine cooler) as well as your pots and pans, plates, etc are fully stocked. Exterior: The 150 year old Farmhouse is located on a private 2 acre lot and has a detached garage and a basketball hoop in the driveway! It features a large front and back manicured yard, as well as a large cemented private back patio area with furniture and a grill. Across the street from the house is Elk Lake, that you can access by walking just down the road, or see views from the porch!

The town is completely surrounded by water with the East Bay of Lake Michigan along the west side of town and Elk Lake to the east. You can travel by boat from Elk Lake to Torch Lake, known as the Caribbean of the North (National Geographic.) Elk Rapids is known for festivals and art fairs, and during the summer on Wednesday nights, the streets are closed for food and entertainment.
