The SpaceMy husband and I love to travel. In fact, we use Airbnb rentals ourselves, so we know how good it feels to find affordable accommodations that give you that home away from home feeling. We can assure you that you will walk into a clean, tidy apartment that will put your mind at ease and allow you to focus on getting to the fun parts of your NYC visit.
The apartment is a renovated, rear-entry, partially below ground space in Queens, NY that can comfortably accommodate three people. It can accommodate up to four if two persons sleep on the fold-down futon in the living room area. It is located approximately 15 minutes from the JFK International Airport by car. The apartment is private, so you will not have to share anything with anyone else. We live in the apartment above this one.
There is one bedroom with a full size bed/futon, computer, TV and chest of drawers; one bathroom with a bathtub, toilet, pedestal sink and bathroom supplies; a full kitchen with generous counter top space, fridge, stove, coffee maker, pots, pans, etc; and a cozy living room area with sofa/futon and coat closet.
High-speed Wi-Fi Internet access is free. For you techies out there, my husband said it's a 100 Mb/s Verizon FiOS connection :-)
A wirelessly connected laptop is provided for those of you who may need a computer, but didn't bring one of your own.
Cable TV is free. There is a 46 inch HD TV in the bedroom.
Air conditioning is provided during the summer months.
Like the apartment, the yard is newly constructed and you are welcome to use it. It has an outdoor table and chairs and is ideal for basking in the summer sun or enjoying a glass (or three!) of wine under cool, starry skies. Street parking is always available, but the yard is large enough to accommodate private parking for luggage drop off and pick up if necessary. There is also a private garage, but it is not for guest use.
The property is monitored by ADT security services and video surveillance.
The neighborhood is quite residential with manicured lawns and a tree lined mall that runs down the middle of the street. Neighbors are friendly and still say good morning and good afternoon as you pass them by.
Grocery stores, delis, restaurants and a bar/lounge are all within walking distance. There is ample public transportation close by with connections to major shopping centers/malls, the world famous Belmont Racetrack and other attractions. Commuter vans run directly outside the apartment. The 83 bus line is less than a block away. The Long Island Railroad which gets you to the heart of Manhattan in about 1/2 hour is an 8 minute bus ride away. The commuter van and bus will connect you to the E and J trains which stop at various points along routes through Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Other Things to NoteLate Check Out:
The apartment is usually in high demand, so we tend to have new guests arriving the same day that previous guests are leaving. This means late check out is often not possible. Check with us no later than the day before you plan to leave and we will let you know. The late check out rate is $10/hour.
Early Check In:
Again, due to high demand, it is not always possible to accommodate early check in. Check with us no later than the day before you plan to check in and I will let you know. The early check in rate is $10/hour.
