The SpaceThe Wagon House cabin was once a true wagon house for Arrowhead Ranch, then was turned into a bunkhouse and later into a three-room living space. It is now a fully modern space but retains the original knotty pine paneling and its vintage feel and beauty. It is situated on our 40 acre property between the big white barn and the main house and about 30 yards from the Ruby Peak cabin, which is also available for guest rentals. Guest AccessGuests have access to a park-like green space, outdoor picnic table and barbecue, fire pit, hammock, chairs and benches, and a trail leading into the "wild area" of trees and springs. You can visit the chickens, the goats, and other other livestock and animals that live here. Interaction with GuestsWe will welcome you and show you your cabin, answer any questions you may have about your space and the area, and then leave you to enjoy your stay! We live in the "big house" nearby and are available in person or by phone. We are friendly and welcoming, and we are also very respectful of your privacy. The NeighborhoodWe are perfectly situated between Joseph and Enterprise, on what is known as the Alder Slope, where the Wallowa mountains tower a short one mile away. The roads in the immediate vicinity are gravel - well graded in summer and well snow-plowed in winter. We are surrounded by pastures and wheat fields - much cover and food for the pheasants, owls, hawks, waterfowl and songbirds that live here year-around. We also enjoy visits from the resident mule deer and whitetail deer and the elk that raise their calves nearby. The art and cultural town of Joseph is five miles away, Wallowa Lake is six miles, and the county seat of Enterprise is three miles. Other Things to NoteWe have a pasture where you can keep your horse(s) (for an extra fee) and space to park your horse trailer. Depending on the season, there will probably be grass in the pasture, but you should plan to bring your own hay and feed for your horses.

The SpaceAlley Cat boasts so many large and small details it would be hard to describe them all! This is a brand new 750 square foot remodel done in vibrant jewel tones but with soothing neutral walls and floors. There are unusual antiques, vintage finds and original artwork throughout. We have an eclectic style, curating what we love. While sometimes being a little bit off beat or funky, our finds are always unique and fun. (Example-a vintage tramp Art creel repurposed as a wall hanging flower basket.) The living, dining and kitchen are open with a separate large bedroom, including built in bookshelves with lots of classics on the shelves and a new walk in closet. We seldom use the space, but you might find a few of our belongings. However, we always provide you a lot of space to put your things as well as a luggage rack. Our Comphy signature bedding is used in 5 star B & B's w and we love providing extra down pillows. The bathroom is a nice size with every amenity provided--just bring your toothbrush! The tiled shower is rather spacious with a rainfall shower head. We provide plush, organic towels and even gift you a bar of our very own handmade organic soap. (If you love it as much as most people do, let us know and we will happily sell you more!) The kitchenette includes an extra deep stainless steel sink, commercial pull down faucet/sprayer, a brand new refrigerator microwave and stove as well as all new cabinets as well. Everything is provided to cook a gourmet meal or to make a scratch baked good! There may be such things as ketchup, mustard etc in the fridge, which you are welcome to. We also keep staples such as flour, sugar, coffee available as well. If it's there, you may use it. Guest AccessThe entire flat is yours, so make yourself at home! Hair dryer, curling iron, bath amenities, toaster, French stainless steel cookware, electric beater, wine opener, all cooking utensils and measuring cups/mixing bowls are just some of the things included. No detail has been overlooked, but if you think of something we don't have, just let us know and chances are we can produce it while you are there or will consider having it on your next visit! Interaction with GuestsWe are usually always available by email or phone and love helping our guests have the maximum experience while in our beautiful valley. Please feel free to ask us about anything you might need and we will happily get back to you as soon as possible. We have lived in Wallowa County more than 35 years and know a lot about the area as well as the surrounding area. The NeighborhoodEnterprise is the seat of Wallowa County and a lovely example of an old style Western town with nice wide streets and clean surroundings. Alley Cat is just next to the library and just across the street you will see our historic court house. Take a stroll over to the courthouse and definitely have a look at the courtroom, which will remind you of something out of "To Kill a Mockingbird"! Right down the street is The Bookloft, a small quaint space with great coffee and homemade bites as well as a very good selection of local Northwest books. The owner, Mary, does a great job giving you ideas of what to purchase if you are interested in learning more about our area. (Tell Mary we sent you!) All within a short walking distance are restaurants, bakery, coffee house, shopping (Wild Carrot is a MUST) and even a great wine tasting room as well as parks--to name a few things:-) Upon booking, we will send you our Flat Manual, that gives more specifics on what to do while in the area. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation but parking is generally ample. Other Things to NoteWhile the inside of Alley Cat is completely redone, as of this writing (June 22) we are still updating the outside. To date, a new small deck porch steps and roof have been added and we plan to repaint and stucco the outside of our building sometime this summer. The heat/air conditioning is central and there is not a separate thermostat. Therefore, we have vents that close and have even added a small space heater and plush robes in the event you are too cold or too warm. Plus, since our motto is "always reforming" we love upgrading and improving our Airbnb listings, so what you see in pictures now may have changed by the time you get here. However, we make every effort to keep things very current and let you know just what to expect.
