I work in the back of the home most days- a kitten adopted my art studio, stays in this part of the home. Enjoy maps to local attractions, festival, art and recreational information. The NeighborhoodOn a quaint and qunitessential winding NM road along the Pojoaque River, a favorite bike route. Enjoy the rooster's crow, horse talk and the sound of wind in tall trees. Sunsets are exceptional on the patio. Views of Santa Fe Ski Basin, Valles Caldera, Lights of Los Alamos and Taos on the drive in. Sacred Sandstone formation across the river. Most local families have lived here over 400 years, Tribal folk- centuries. Getting AroundThere is no close public transportation. Cities of Gold Casino (4 miles) has shuttle and bus service to Santa Fe. Compared to town options (where you may walk 15-40 minutes in high altitude heat-cold or chance less than reliable bus and taxi service) in 20 minutes you can park in Old Town Santa Fe or Taos and to shops, art and dining. If you are on a work holiday for LANL, you can likely find a ride with a local LANL employee. 30-40 minutes to Santa Fe Airport, 70-80 to Albuquerque Sunport, both via Santa Fe alternative Route 599 and Hwy 285 N, a short drive on Hwy 502.
Close to Santa Fe (18 min.), Bandelier (20 min.), Valles Caldera (25 min.), Nambe Falls (10 min.), Santuario Chimayo (15 min.), Jemez Springs (35 min.), Taos (20 min.) and NM Casinos. Other Things to NoteThe house is very clean and fresh, lots of windows and stays cool in the summer. Some (small) details are being worked on as I recently moved here. The back yard is 'natural' until I can work on it. Across the yard is a unit off the back portion of the home (art studio) through 4' of adobe, which uses a side driveway. The home is quiet, except for the annual art walk- in a rural/ residential setting.
