The SpaceMy guests enjoy my cooking and have told me that they have greatly benefited from my knowledge of the area and region. I really enjoy making people feel comfortable and at home. My decorating style is cozy but uncluttered Guest AccessFast wifi, 2 TV's, deck dining, canoe and kayak, walk to/from Amtrak and frequent, convenient bus, help yourself to the kitchen, living room, laundry "room", shady front porch rockers and glider, free, off-street parking. Interaction with GuestsWhen here, I am often in my garden or study. However, I am always available for guests who like to chat or need any help or info on local areas of interest. Generally, I try to give guests ample personal space but I have greatly enjoyed getting to know my guests and conversing at their convenience. The NeighborhoodMy neighborhood is generally quiet and eclectic -- every house on my street is distinct. I personally enjoy walking in the village, enjoying the gardens and the many lovely, old homes. Getting AroundAmtraK, also a key public transportation hub (bus) is a 5 minute walk to and from my house. Although I have not taken the train from Amtrak, my two grown sons have and prefer it to driving. I frequently use and always enjoy the bus system. It is punctual, clean, and riders are respectful and friendly. Also, every bus has an easy bike rack for those who want to extent their trip on bike, and they are also all wheelchair accessible. Very cheap: $1.25 per fare (have the correct change!) and you should ask for a free pass for transfers. My off-street parking can accommodate 4 cars not counting mine, which is in the garage because I rarely use it. Bike rentals are available nearby and if you're desperate, you might be able to borrow mine... Other Things to NoteI have a spacious, shady yard, and a growing, evolving perennial garden. Each bedroom is air-conditioned. My kitchen is very intuitive, and my guests have all complimented me on the decor, coziness and comfort of my home, as well as on my house-keeping skills.
