The SpaceClose to the I-90 highway, which is great for road trips! The apt is part of a residential district with other small apartment buildings and family residences. It is also in walking distance from the independent arts district for the east side of Cleveland. Each guest will have access to kitchenette with electric range oven, toaster, coffee pot, towel, hand towel and face towel along with an assortment of natural soap, castile soap shampoo, moisturizer and fragrance oils. The rear door is off limits and for emergency exit only. I will be present on site in a separate apartment. Good people always have good conversations, so expect brief, cordial conversation at minimum! Our immediate neighborhood is in a rebuilding process, yet is one block away from the illustrious Village of Bratenahl which features walking and bike paths with a view of the Lake Erie on Lakeshore Blvd. Our building tenants have started a community garden and also work to make our home energy efficient with green technology that also lowers harmful electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs). Public transportation is one block away. Pickup from the local subway station or from the airport can be arranged for a nominal extra fee as well. This space is also ideal for families that are moving a new college student on campus but either have too many people or too little money to accommodate near-campus housing. Independent thinking upper-class and graduate students are also welcome to stay for a semester or two. *NOTE* I am part of a team of neighbors; we are working to improve the gentrification process of the neighborhood. This 100 year old apartment is a work in progress and is in constant upgrade mode. The funds acquired from your stay goes into making the apartment better for the next guest. If you are looking solely for a cheap place to stay, there are many inns that can accommodate you. Example: If the tiles have a spot or two, it is from the cleaning solution that was used to CLEAN the spot. Once enough funds are collected, new tiles will be installed. This listing is on Airbnb only for the sole purpose of providing you with a clean, spacious and comfortable place to stay with expert culinary options from a native Clevelander, not a local concierge that can only give you locations of hot spots downtown. Please keep that in mind when considering your travel arrangements. Guest AccessEach guest will have access to kitchen with electric range oven, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, towel, hand towel and face towel along with an assortment of natural soap, castile soap shampoo, moisturizer and fragrance oils. The rear door is for emergency exit only. Interaction with GuestsSince I live in the same building, I am available in person when I am home. When I am away, I am available mostly via text. If you have an iPhone, I can show you how to contact me via wi-fi even if you have your international phone signal turned off. The Neighborhood**NOTE** The city of Cleveland (median home value $52K) is different than most other large cities in the USA. Many suburbs are enclosed within Cleveland instead of around the perimeter of the city (suburban median home value over $200K). If you are looking to be close to downtown, it will either be very expensive for a small amount of space, or a slum that you would not want to visit. This apartment is close to a perfect blend since it is right in the center of two distinct neighborhoods: one block to the west is the highway as well as one of the wealthiest villages in Cleveland (median home value over $230K), while one block east is an urban middle class that work hard each day to make ends meet (median home value $62K). It's part of what makes Cleveland what it is: an old juggernaut that is now working to get out of the underdog status. To the east, the bike path and walkway along the wealthy lake shore in the residential district is my favorite part of the neighborhood. I can walk and see nature such as deer and small wildlife as I walk for exercise or leisure. In the other direction, I love the close grocery store, drug store as well as a Trinidadian eatery and Beachland ballroom & tavern which highlights the urban arts district. Getting AroundPublic transit (bus to rail) is very frequent during the weekdays; much less frequent on weekends and holidays. Bus stop is one block from the apartment. There is a bus stop which will connect you to the rapid rail system (train system that was "rapid" 100 years ago lol). Cleveland had first transit system in the western hemisphere to provide direct rapid transit service from a city's downtown to its major airport. Other Things to NoteThis space is also ideal for families that are moving a new college student on campus but either have too many people or too little money to accommodate near-campus housing. Independent thinking upper-class and graduate students are also welcome to stay for a semester or two. Only space heaters available at this time. Adjacent apartment has central air that help heat this particular unit, but if you like your home over 70 degrees in all areas, you need to search elsewhere. *NOTE* I am part of a team of neighbors; we are working to improve the gentrification process of the neighborhood. The SpaceThis is a refurbished cottage that I redesigned to have a huge second floor bedroom. It has a queen size bed. It is a warm, fun place to hang out for a stay in Cleveland. The immediate neighborhood is populated by poets, musicians, lawyers, teachers and bakers, but everyone is a lover of our lakeside views. Guest AccessSince I live right next door, it's easy to greet guests. And coming and going is fine since there is dedicated parking spot and key available. Of course, deck sitting in summer at sunset is always recommended. But warm and cozy in the fall and winter. Wine glasses are stocked. Interaction with GuestsI live right next door, and own the Beachland Ballroom which is nearby. Always available for help in getting around the city and finding cool places to eat and explore. The NeighborhoodI am located in the North Collinwood neighborhood, one of the safest areas of Cleveland. The area is home to the Waterloo Arts and Entertainment District which I helped found by starting the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern in 2000. We now have lots of artists and musicians moving into the area, buying old cottages like this so they can have lakefront access. Bistro 185, The Standard and Scotti's Italian Eatery are great restaurants only a few minutes away. Getting AroundWe are very close to I-90 which provides a straight shot to downtown Cleveland in under 10 minutes. And equal time to University Circle and the medical centers. Bus lines run along Lakeshore Blvd regularly and uber is very handy. Other Things to NoteCottage is completely insulated and toasty warm even in the middle of Lake Erie storms, which are great to watch from the windows.

I live in an art-filled 1914 home on a private street steps from Lake Erie and our own beach (bonfires, kayaking, wine at sunset!). Close to downtown (a 12-minute drive) and the Waterloo Arts District (1/2 mile). My guest room can accommodate two and you'll have your own bathroom. Bus stop at the end of the street. No A/C or cable. I do, however, have the world's greatest cats :-). My neighborhood is an urban mix of everything from lakefront mansions to clapboard cottages and abandoned bldgs.

The SpaceWelcome to Jude’s Bungalow! This house is cozy, clean, and close to Cleveland. Up for rent is one master bedroom with two beds in it (one is a full bed and the other is a futon in the same room). There’s not a ton of floor space in the room, but chances are if you are renting this space you are doing it to save money and enjoy sightseeing or an event in the city! With that said, there is wi-fi when you are home. In the picture, there’s clothes in the closet, but the closet will be empty when you stay. You will enjoy shared access to the kitchen, bathroom, and living room spaces while you are here. You’ll see me as little as you want (I work full-time and will be there very little unless you need me more often). You’ll be able to access me by cell/text with the number I share with you once you book. I am willing to provide pick-up and drop off to/from Cleveland-Hopkins for a negotiated price if my schedule allows, but it’s usually pretty easy/cheap to get an Uber ride to my house. Looking forward to your stay! Guest AccessYou'll be able to access common areas of the home (kitchen and bathroom) as well as the living room when that space is not rented on Airbnb. Interaction with GuestsI'm available to help in anyway. Text me!
