The SpaceIdeal for that visit to the Pacific Northwest...situated in the city of Everett, 30 miles north of Seattle.. Victoria's cottage is centrally located for day visits to the San Juan Islands, Cascade mountains, tulip fields of Mt. Vernon, Everett Naval Base, Vancouver and the city of Seattle. Attending a wedding or running a 5K? This is the place to stay. Perfect for a couple, or friends traveling together, this cute little house has all the comforts of a vacation home. Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, large comfortable living room with high ceilings, spacious windows and lots of light, as well as a enchanting private side yard with patio for dining "al fresco", or just relaxing in the sun. There are two bedrooms each with a queen sized bed. There is plenty of space to store your personal items. The bathroom is a nice size with a large tub and enclosed shower. There is wifi available, basic cable tv, an outdoor barbecue...even off street parking big enough for several cars. Grocery stores and pharmacies are within walking (URL HIDDEN) well as many other shops and restaurants. The Guest book includes nearby attractions, maps, restaurants and is chock full of information. Or I can help you with any questions you have. Located in downtown Everett, shops and attractions are within a 20 minute walk. The marina and Naval Base are only minutes away by car or three miles by foot. The train/bus station is 8 blocks away and access to I-5 the major freeway is minutes away. Pet friendly! I look forward to hosting you at Victoria's Cottage! The NeighborhoodI love the quaint neighborhood feeling, the fruit trees that line the street and the friendliness of the neighbors. Victoria's Cottage is the only house on this side of the block. So there are no houses on either side which gives even more privacy and space. Yet, blocks away are pharmacies, shops, two big supermarkets, banks...you can even walk to the main downtown area which is about 8 blocks from the cottage. Getting AroundThe Everett train station is located about a half mile from the cottage. Amtrak and Sound Transit link Everett to Seattle, neighboring cities, and onward to other US cities and Canada. At the same train station are community transit buses which can take you anywhere in the region. There is light rail service between Everett/Mulkiteo/Edmonds/Seattle. This service is called Sound Transit and it winds along the waterfront from Everett to Seattle. What a beautiful ride! There are four trains which leave in the early morning and late afternoon. The fare is only $4.50 each way and takes about 40 minutes to reach Seattle. Well worth the ride!!! Other Things to NoteTake a morning or evening stroll towards the west...within 10 blocks of the cottage is a street called Grand Avenue which has a park situated on a cliff with a breathtaking view of the Sound, marina, navy base and outlying islands. The sunsets here are magnificent.

The SpaceThis is an actual lived in tiny house (we recreated in it for 4 years). That means there are scuff marks on the wall from our shoes, cat claw scratches on the ladder steps and some blinds that are a little rough on the edges (thank you SethCat for that). With my wife, together we built the tiny house in 2011. Over the course of seven months, we designed and built the well known Tiny Tack House. There are many stories and experiences that come along with this journey, and now it's time for others to try it out! We are letting people into our home, in hopes to inspire others wanting to make the change to tiny a little easier after staying in one for themselves. There are many tiny houses out there. Try to stay in several to see what you like, what you don't like... what you need and what you can go without. It's an experience, and one that we are excited to offer to others. We have listened and now you can stay inside The Tiny Tack House. The house comes with a 6'3" long bench, perfect for the occasional nap, or just relaxing and snuggling up and enjoying a movie. With tons of storage inside, feel free to stash whatever you might not need away for another day. The folding desk under the TV gives you adequate room to use your personal computer or to enjoy your meals. When you are finished, simply fold the desk down and enjoy your entertainment area. There is no cable access, only internet connection to Netflix and YouTube. A huge closet on the main level has plenty of space for your traveling must haves. Store your luggage, coats, hats and other items in the closet to keep the room open and spacious. Since we both needed to work in the tiny house, we installed a second desk. Feel free to use it as your own desk, or extra eating space. You'll find plenty of books and art projects to work on while you are enjoying your visit to TTTH. The house has 12 windows total (11 of which open). The tiny house baths in sunlight and the view of evergreens on the property. In the sleeping loft you will find a queen sized memory foam mattress dressed with blankets on top of blankets. It will leave you feeling just too cozy to get out of bed. The bathroom is fitted with a wine barrel shower and a composting toilet (aka bucket). The kitchen has a small sink, two burner cooktop and a compact refrigerator with separate freezer and fridge space. So get ready to sit back, relax and enjoy tiny! The Tiny Tack House Amenities: *Compact fridge with separate freezer unit. *Condiments in the fridge *French Press *Cereal *Tea *Sugar *Pasta *Rice *Assorted grains *Cutting board *Utensils and Cookware *Cooktop *Olive Oil *Spices / Salt / Pepper *Wine barrel shower *Compost Toilet *TV with internet *Sitting/sleeping bench *Queen sized memory foam mattress *Heaters *Mini fan *Hot water from the 4 gallon hot water heater *Shampoo and soaps *Hairdryer *Tiny house books and other resources. *Bus schedule route book *Hiking books *Games and activities *Outside grill for cooking *Outside sitting area *WiFi Guest AccessYou will have access to the common house as well as the tiny house. If for some reason you feel uncomfortable using the shower or toilet in the tiny house, the big house will be accessible for those uses. Outside sitting area and laundry. (see house notes about laundry hours). Interaction with Guests-Malissa "I love to talk tiny! It's possible that we can work in some time to chat, but please ask me for available times. Since I do work from home, it may appear that I'm available all the time, but may be working on projects or freelance work. I would love to share my story, as well as find out about your own! I am also happy to let you do your thing, and get a feel for tiny on your own. Just ask if you need anything." The NeighborhoodYou're not far from most amenities! Just a few blocks away you'll find Albertsons, Haggen, Grocery Outlet, Trader Joe's and Safeway. Located near Hwy 99 you'll find banks like People's Bank, Key Bank and US Bank, as well as many others. If you can't go without your Starbucks, there is one just .9 mile away! You will love the close proximity to The Puget Sound and breath taking views of the Olympic Mountains (perfect at sunset) only minutes from the house. Travel to Howarth Park for some relaxing views and picnic spaces. If you want to be thrown into the woods and not have to travel very far, check out Forest Park. They have lots of fun things to explore as well as old grown evergreens. Things to check out would include: • An Animal Farm • Barbecue • Basketball Court • Field • Horseshoes • Meeting Rooms • Picnic Shelter • Playground • Pool • Restrooms • Street Hockey • Tennis Court • Trail Access • Trails • Water Playground Getting AroundWe are pretty close to Highway 526 (Boeing Freeway) & I-5. We are less than 2 miles from the main Boeing entrance. There are local bus routes and main lines that run close to the house, just ask us for the best routes. There is street parking available, or private parking upon request. Drive time to Seattle is only a short 30 minute commute into downtown. Bus schedule book is available in the house. Other Things to NoteI usually keep a handful of breakfast items like cereals, fruit and tea handy. There is also an assortment of pasta and grains for the nights you forgot to grab dinner. You will also find things like ketchup, mustard and oat milk in the fridge, along with other common items. Feel free to help yourself! We have recycling and food waste composting on the property, they are located on the backside of the common house. If you can, please keep as much food waste out of the trash cans. The city recycled the scraps into usable compost instead of letting it go to waste in a landfill. The containers are labeled, but if you have questions, please ask. :) Children over 2 years of age should be counted as a guest when booking. ****(Winter Months - November-March)**** At times, temps can dip well below freezing. How does this affect you - Water will be disconnected from the tiny house during the nights when it's expected to get below freezing. You will be supplied with drinking/cleaning water in the tiny house. You have access to the main house during your visit, so things like showers aren't interrupted. Water will be reconnected during the daylight hours. Thank you for your understanding. If there is anything you need from us, please don't hesitate to ask. :) ((((NO PARKING ON PROPERTY PLEASE )))). There is not much room in the backyard, so no parking on property please. There is free 24/7 parking on the main road, right across from the house. *******IMPORTANT MESSAGE******* Please no Press Requests or Tiny House Questions through this account. Please only book the space if you are interested in staying at the tiny house. If you have questions about the house, please checkout our website for more information. (Internet search for chrisandmalissa ((website hidden)) for we won't be able to answer your questions through the Airbnb website. Thank you.
