The SpaceLarge house. Beautiful view of the woods in the backyard. Wrap around porch is what made me fall in love with this house. Feel free to hook up your laptop to any of the screens on the desk for a great work area. 2 hammock chairs on the back deck are the best way to relax at the end of a long day of wandering around DC. Pool table just installed in the basement rounds out the man cave. Come play a game. Also there is a rock wall in the stair way. I'm ok with people using it, but only if they are careful. This room is typically occupied by a single woman. Guest AccessGuests will have access to my neighborhood pool during summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day). Parking in the driveway or garage if desired. Interaction with GuestsI live in the house and work from home in my office. If you want to be left alone, you won't see me. If you want to be friends, I love meeting new people. The NeighborhoodQuiet older neighborhood, definitely won't be disturbed. Getting AroundThere is a bus line (Fairfax Cue Bus) that picks up just outside my neighborhood and goes between George Mason University and the Vienna Metro station. The Vienna Metro station will take you anywhere you want to go in DC. I often walk from home to the Vienna metro on nice days. It is less than 2 miles and nicely sidewalked the whole way.

The SpaceWe have a basement bedroom with a private entrance, (a new change) two twin beds, and a private bathroom for you. It is cute and cozy but you may not like it if you are taller than 6'1" because of the low bump-out in the ceiling. Guest AccessGuests may use the appliance and space in the rental to store small amounts of furniture, luggage, etc. during your stay. Also, we have a very neat, fenced in backyard with a patio that is a pleasant place to sit and read or listen to something. We love to play outside. The laundry facility is available for use by guests who are staying four or more nights or on repeated intervals. Wifi is always available. Interaction with GuestsWe are big on family. And we do not believe that family are just the people you are related to by blood or marriage. We have dear friends that we care about as much as anyone could. We like to share our home with others and get to know people. We both work in service careers and love people. That said, if you need your space, we will, "stay our of your hair." The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood consists of mostly 1940s and 1950s cape cods from Sears. There are beautiful, giant trees and plenty of places to go exploring in addition to the three parks within blocks. Our street has public transportation and we are a short drive to the Vienna metro station. Getting AroundVarious forms of public transportation are within walking distance of the house. The GMU playing fields are at the back of the neighborhood. The Cue bus stop is only two blocks up and goes to the Metro and the Fair Oaks Mall most days. On the edge of our neighborhood we have pharmacies, a grocery store, Walmart, and several restaurants within walking distance. Other Things to NoteWe have two loving dogs who love people and playing outside with each other and our children. If you like dogs, it will be a struggle not to fall in love with them.
