Just 30 miles from downtown Nashville and 15 miles from historic Franklin, Hummingbird Haven, tucked off of a secluded back road, is a place to rejuvenate, appreciate, and re-acclimate oneself. Pull onto the gravel road, take the 2nd drive, and you will see a 1 bedroom cabin tucked in the Fairview pines. Inside this respite there are comforts of a forgotten time, and some modern amenities – just enough to be comfortable. Old times glimmer with old pictures and books, original flooring and walls, handmade quilts, china, and mismatched old coffee mugs. Modern comforts make the visit not too rustic. There is endless hot water, a full kitchen, and indoor bathroom, a nice upgrade from when it was built in 1952, only a few decades removed from when the area was known as a much sought-after retreat named Fernvale. Sit on the swing in the screened-in porch, watch the birds, and listen to the frogs and crickets. Slow down, enjoy a respite from hustle and bustle. Walk back in time, to a time, when life didn't move so fast. Leave feeling rejuvenated and happy about the unexpected delights of Hummingbird Haven. Then come back soon!
