Welcome to an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind, cape-cod-style lake home. This historic cottage has been lovingly restored and reinvented with the nearly lost art and trade of hand hewn and rough sawn craftsmanship. It is a masterpiece of uncommon character delightfully displaying the fruits of labor in every magical corner. You and your family will enjoy the timelessness of unusual timbers, transformed reclaimed woods and rough lumber. Each room reveals a mix of many different species of wood from custom built hickory cabinets, original oak and pine plank floors, cherry and maple ceilings, pegged and joined with dovetailed corners as if it were done centuries ago. Iron hooks and handles handcrafted with traditional blacksmithing techniques add charm and rich authenticity. Handcrafted doors masquerading as bookcases and shelves hide secret rooms and spaces inspiring enchanted mystery! Soulful attention to every detail describes this sanctuary, where you and your family will revel in harmonious interaction with nature. We are located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest in north cental Minnesota just 3 1/2 hours north of the Twin Cities.
