    The SpaceThe apartment is 4 years old, completely refurbished and newly furnished, and can sleep two in a queen bed and one in a custom-built twin Murphy Bed. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets, entertainment center, Murphy Bed with floating desk and queen headboard were handcrafted by me (Gill Wagner). Decorating kudos and attention to amenity detail goes exclusively to Cindy, my lovely wife and co-host. This space is a labor of love designed for those who want to relax in a homey environment; we truly hope you're as comfortable here as you are at home. Guest AccessYou have free parking in our driveway, and independent, locked access to the apartment. There are stairs to climb, with no access for wheelchairs. You may use the shared patio, Weber grill or fire pit just up the yard at the back of the house. The way we see it, when you're here, you're family, and we hope you feel the same before you leave. But if you're the type who would prefer privacy, this is an independent living space. You decide how much quiet time you'd like. The NeighborhoodYou'll feel at home here (if a quiet neighborhood fits your definition of "home"). Our barn sits on nearly an acre lot, among the rolling hills of South County. Trees abound, the neighbors are nice, and crime is virtually non-existent in this neck of the woods. We've lived here more than 30 years; it's a great neighborhood, not far from everything you'll need. Getting AroundWe are near a major bus line, and taxis and Uber are options, but it's best that you have a vehicle while you're here. Enterprise Rent-A-Car is just 2 miles away, if you don't rent from the airport. That being said, there are hundreds of retail, entertainment and food-related businesses within a 2-mile radius of where we live. So you should never have to go far to get whatever it is you need or want. Other Things to NoteWhile the space can accommodate any traveler, it's got everything the traveling business professional or salesperson will need, including a desk with wipe board, WiFi and a networked printer and supplies. We're located near the intersection of two major interstates (I-270 and I-55 in South County), so both Clayton and Downtown St. Louis are just 15- to 20-minute drives away. Resources abound nearby. Within 2 miles are Target, Costco, a major retail mall, FedEx Office, five large grocers and a 20-plex cinema. Extend that to 4 miles, and you could visit the beautiful Grant’s Farm, enjoy nature on an 8-mile paved biking and walking trail, or wander through a 50,000-square-foot antique mall. Within minutes, you could be dining at any one of hundreds of restaurants – from fast food to fine dining. Yet, your accommodations are tucked into a cozy neighborhood with rolling hills. Our goal is to keep the apartment as allergy free as possible so that our guests are confident they'll be comfortable when here. That means absolutely no pets in the apartment ever (not even our dogs are allowed in there). And it means we strive to rent to non-smokers only, that way the particulates that cling to clothing can't be transferred to the couch, pillows, drapes, etc., and possibly affect future guests.     The SpaceA living room, kitchen, dining area, half bath and laundry facilities are located downstairs. The living room features a comfortable sofa, two large benches, a desk and a flat screen TV with basic cable. The kitchen is well-stocked with new dishes, silverware, pots, pans and other cooking supplies so you can truly make this your home away from home. There is also a Keurig coffeemaker -- feel free to help yourself to your favorite selection of coffee whenever you'd like! The kitchen and dining area are especially bright, sunny places, thanks to a sliding glass door that looks out over the backyard. The washing machine and dryer, along with laundry soap, dryer sheets, iron and ironing board, are located in a closet at the far end of the dining area. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms with all new bedding and a full bath stocked with plush towels and everything you're likely to need during your stay. The master bedroom has a queen bed, dresser and two closets. The second bedroom holds two custom-sized beds that are extra-long and extra-wide twins, along with a chest of drawers and closet. The beds are actually mid-way between a twin bed and full bed and are perfectly comfortable for a large adult. This is a down-free, fragrance-free, pet-free home so allergy-sufferers can rest assured. The backyard currently has a small 10x10 patio, a few patio chairs and an electric grill. Its a nice place to soak in the sun. In early July I'll be installing a larger paver patio with shade sails and comfortable lounge seating, so if you'll be traveling in the latter half of July or later you can look forward to relaxing outdoors with your family, friends or co-workers. There is also a one-car garage that is yours to use. Guest AccessThe entire townhouse is yours to use, indoors and out. Please do be respectful of the neighbors in the adjoining townhouse. If you will be arriving late at night, please try to be quiet when entering, carrying your luggage upstairs and getting settled. Interaction with GuestsThere is a passcode on the door so it is not necessary to meet. I've left general house info, a few maps and some sight-seeing materials to help you make the most of your stay in the St. Louis area. Of course, if you have any concerns or just want ideas on what to see and do or where to eat, please do not hesitate to contact me. I live about 15 minutes away, know the area well, and would love to point you in some interesting directions. The NeighborhoodThe townhouse is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood in the southwest suburb of Fenton. It is located just 4 minutes off of Highway 44, near the intersection with Hwy 270, so whether you are just passing through the St. Louis area or staying to enjoy the area attractions, it is sure to be convenient to your needs. Highway 44 is widely considered the least congested artery into St. Louis, so Forest Park, the St. Louis Zoo, the Missouri Botanical Garden, the Science Center and many other attractions are just 20 minutes to the east. Downtown, Busch Stadium and the Gateway Arch are an additional 5 minutes further east. And St. Louis's major amusement park, Six Flags Over Mid-America, is 20 minutes west of the townhouse. Even closer are many lesser-known attractions, such as Laumeier Sculpture Park and the Magic House. Soccer enthusiasts, the St. Louis Soccer Park is only 4 minutes away! I would love to host you during your stay! The St. Louis area has a wealth of activities with something for everyone, and just about anything you'd want to do is only a short drive away. The townhouse sits on a quiet, tree-lined street, just 1/2 a block from Riverside Golf Course and 2 blocks from the Fenton City Park. This expansive, well-kept city park features playgrounds, a 1.5 mile walking path, basketball courts, and soccer & baseball fields. Best of all, Riverchase Recreation Center is only 5 minutes away. This facility features a large, window-lined room filled with the latest exercise equipment, an indoor track, basketball courts, and best of all one indoor and two outdoor pools. In summer it is the best pool in the entire metro area, with kiddie fountains, a lazy river, diving boards, and lap lanes. You do not need to be a member or a resident and cost is $8/adult, $7/child. Groceries are easy to access from the townhouse, with both Dierberg's and Walmart grocery stores just 8 minutes away. Dierberg's is a locally-owned chain of higher-end grocery stores with everything you are likely to want, including a good selection of organic and natural foods. Lastly, whether you were born to shop or just suddenly need a few things, the possibilities in Fenton are nearly endless. Gravois Bluffs shopping center has Target, Lowe's, Sports Authority, Pier 1 and dozens more, along with many affordable restaurants and a movie theater. If you prefer Macy's or Nordstrom's, West County Mall is just 10 minutes north on Hwy 270. A variety of more up-scale and/or ethnic restaurants are also 10 minutes away in Kirkwood. Some of my favorites are Sunset 44 for an elegant dinner, Citizen Kane's for succulent steaks in a refined victorian house, Dewey's Pizza and Pi Pizzeria, One 19 North for tapas, Sushi Bistro, Amigos Cantina, and First Watch for delicious, healthful breakfasts & lunches. Peppe's Apt 2 is next on my list to try as reviewers call it a hidden gem! Getting AroundIt is best to have a car at this location as there is no public transportation nearby and there are no stores in walking distance. There is, however, a very nice city park with a playground and walking path just a few blocks away. Other Things to NoteThe large backyard beyond the patio will not be useable in Summer & Fall 2016 as it has recently been regraded and will be re-seeded.

The main floor features a high vaulted ceiling, a wood burning fireplace, a bay window with a window seat. Our fully equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare a meal. The local grocery store is less than a mile away. We'll provide coffee, cream, tea, sugar, butter, etc. The master bedroom is on the main floor and features a queen-size bed and a private bath.
