Our beautiful charming and cozy log cabins are located in the heart of the majestic Rocky Mountains close to the Bull River. Here you will enjoy privacy and tranquility in a peaceful natural setting whilst viewing the abundance of local wildlife. You can totally relax in front of a cozy wood burning fireplace or unwind in one of our hot tubs enjoying the stunning mountain view. This two bedroom cabin has comfy queen size beds and there are also two bunks in the living room area. Our kitchens come fully equipped for your self catering needs. We have three of the best fishing rivers in the Kootenay's , the Bull River, the Elk River and the St Mary's River . There are also many other fun activities that you can choose from, river rafting, hiking, horse back riding, golfing. We do outsource all activities so they must be booked and paid for in advance. Please contact us for current activity pricing. We are located approximately 45 minutes from Cranbrook international airport and about 1 hour from Fernie. We are in a rural area with no shops close so you would need to shop in Cranbrook or Fernie before heading to the ranch. If you are looking for a peaceful self catering get away, this is the place for you.

The SpaceThe bedroom is part of Carn Brae Cabin, an exquisite, custom built log home overlooking Lake Koocanusa in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia. The room has a queen sized bed and provides a cosy, romantic and relaxing getaway with idyllic views of the water and the Rockies. It has its own private balcony and is ideal for one or two people. It is perfectly situated for those seeking to get away from the hurly burly of the city to be close to nature, to relax and to enjoy the views, the wildlife and the tranquility of the Rocky Mountains. Business travellers who need to be close to the highway and have full internet access to work should be aware of the cabin's location, 8 km from Highway 3, and that internet access is limited. There is access by road all year round, with four wheel drive, or front wheel drive with snow chains, being strongly advised during the winter. Free parking is available and guests have access to the community's private beach and dock. Interaction with GuestsThe host lives in the cabin and will give you a warm welcome on arrival and bid you farewell on departure. He will also be available to answer your questions and provide advice and knowledge on local attractions and activities during for your stay. The NeighborhoodThe cabin is on a safe, gated community on the fringe of the wilderness and lies mid-way between the Alpine resorts at Fernie and Kimberly. It is a four season venue and hot springs, hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, trail riding, climbing, golf, fishing, skiing, skidoo'g, other water sports and hunting are just a few of the activities available nearby. Your host can advise you on all of the above as well as local historical sites and points of interest. There is a pub close by and shops and good restaurants are available in Cranbrook, which is 30 minutes drive away. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen locally, in particular the eagles and ospreys that patrol the lake can be seen throughout the year. Come and enjoy a unique, memorable experience in the wilderness and share it with the cougars, bears, wolves, coyotes, eagles, deer and many other animals. Getting AroundNo public transport is available to or from the cabin. The cabin is 8.2km from Hwy 3. Other Things to NoteGuests have full access to all the living space of the cabin, including the kitchen, the sitting area, study and dining area. In the summer yoga can be done on the main deck or in the basement where there is a Bowflex Home Gym, and elliptical cross trainer, mats for yoga and a training climbing wall. The Master bedroom has a 32" TV connected to a DVD player. Seperate entry from street side of house, access to bbq and hot tub in back yard. Getting AroundWe are centrally located within 3 city blocks to all of Fernie's shops and restaurants. The ski hill is a short 8 minute drive. Don't have a car and want to get to the ski hill? No problem, there is a shuttle bus that leaves for the hill every hour. It drops off and picks up 2 blocks away! Other Things to NoteFamilies are welcome! Located right on the Elk River minutes from Downtown Fernie, the ski hill and at the base of the Mount Fernie trail network. Can't decide between the ski hill or town? This is the perfect compromise. It's half way between both! Regular ski shuttles in the winter from just down the street. A fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave have been provided for basic cooking needs along with plates, bowls, cutlery etc. Guest AccessGuests have access to their own private space with it's own private exterior entrance and free parking. The SpaceThe wood heat, and the old wooden floors and walls make you feel as if you have found a remote sanctuary from all the hustle and bustle, although your car will be right outside the door! I mainly interact with my guests during the initial greeting, although I maintain steady communication through texting, and may bump into you while shovelling snow or playing outside with my kids! Our home and cabin are in the middle of 22 acres of pasture, so it has a spacious feel, with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. No access to public transit from our property, so a vehicle is essential. We have two Border Collie puppies who are overly friendly, and will approach you and potentially jump up to greet you! We are discouraging this behaviour but it's proving challenging!!! I mainly interact with my guests during the initial greeting, although I maintain steady communication through texting, and may bump into you while shovelling snow or playing outside with my kids! The SpaceWelcome! The basement suite is part of a family home, with a very active 2 year old boy and his best buddy, Uma the dog living up stairs. Our suite is a newly renovated, bright and open concept living space with a fully equipped kitchen and living space, separate to the bedroom and bathroom. We provide coffee supplies and basic condiments. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash basin, and the large bedroom has a very comfortable queen size bed, full size closet and lovely afternoon sunlight. All linen like sheets and towels are provided. The suite is ideally located, with biking and hiking trails accessible from the front door. Ridgemont trail system literally 2 minutes from the front door on your bike, or 5 minutes on foot! The ski hill is a short 10 min drive, or you can catch the ski shuttle bus just down the hill - leaves every hour or so during the day. There is a golf course is a 5 min drive from our home and world class fishing is only a hop, skip and a jump away. Secure storage available for 2 mountain bikes. Sorry, no pets and no smoking in the suite. Guest AccessSecure storage for outdoor sporting equipment, ie, bicycles, ski/snowboard gear, fishing gear, etc. Travel crib available for babies. There is access by road all year round, with four wheel drive, or front wheel drive with snow chains, being strongly advised during the winter. Interaction with GuestsThe host lives in the main cabin and will give you a warm welcome on arrival and bid you farewell on departure. He will also be available to answer your questions and provide advice and knowledge on local attractions and activities during for your stay. The NeighborhoodThe cabin is on a safe, gated community on the fringe of the wilderness and lies mid-way between the Alpine resorts at Fernie and Kimberly. It is a four season venue and hot springs, hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, trail rides, climbing, golf, fishing, skiing, skidoo'g, other water sports and hunting are just a few of the activities available nearby. Your host can advise you on all of the above as well as local historical sites and points of interest. There is a pub close by and shops and good restaurants are available in Cranbrook, which is 30 minutes drive away. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen locally, in particular the eagles and ospreys that patrol the lake can be seen throughout the year. Come and enjoy a unique, memorable experience in the wilderness and share it with the cougars, bears, wolves, coyotes, eagles, deer and many other animals. Getting AroundNo public transport is available to or from the cabin. The cabin is 8.2km from Hwy 3. Other Things to NoteIn the summer yoga can be done on the main deck or in the basement where there is a Bowflex Home Gym, and elliptical cross trainer, mats for yoga and a training climbing wall.             The chalet was built in 2007 and is furnished to a high standard with all facilities including an outdoor private hot tub, satellite flat screen TV, four bedrooms (3 double bedrooms and 1 basement bedroom with luxury queen sized bunk beds - ideal for a children's room) and two bathrooms. The property is built over two floors (approx 2000 sq ft), with outdoor decking on first floor to front and a patio at the rear. Internally the living , dining and breakfast bar are on the first floor in an open plan layout. While the property has traditional pine wood features, the furniture and kitchen is contemporary in design. On the lower floor there are two bedrooms with a play area , and laundry facilities including under floor heated slate flooring. The property has a driveway and a garage , ski storage and internal access to property. preferred method of payment is bank transfer (internet banking) or pay pal required 21 days in advance. . Fernie is an old mining town and has a quaint main street, with shops and restaurants (including a Thai and French restaurant). It also has a vast array of winter and summer outdoor activities. In winter skiing, boarding , snowmobiling, dog sledging, snow shoeing. In summer , Golf , (Fernie is most famous for its fly fishing), white water rafting, nature trails, mountain biking, rock climbing, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. The house is located in pine forest on a mountain close to the Ski Hill - 7 minutes drive. You can take a shuttle bus to the slope but if you have a Car you can park right at the chairlift and parking is plentiful. The Main street of the Town is between the house and the Ski Slope.
