The SpaceThe Bales is a separate, fully self contained, one bedroom cottage. It shares five acres, by the river with our 130 year-old house where we live, but is completely independent of our house. It has a very comfortable queen bed with quality linens and is best suited for two people. However, there is also a sofa bed in the lounge room if you have a couple of extras to squeeze in.
The gas kitchen is well equipped with full stove, oven, microwave, small espresso machine, coffee grinder and sandwich press. The Bales has unlimited WIFI, a washing machine, flat screen TV, DVD player, DVD,s, books, extra blankets, fans, gas and electric heating, some games and a good, strong, hot shower to wash off the salt and sand after a day at the beach or a hike in the rain forest.
The kitchen is stocked with cooking essentials like olive oil, garlic, salt pepper etc, plus we usually stock basics like pasta and spaghetti sauce in the cupboard to provide a quick meal at the end of a long drive, if needed.
As much as possible, everything we provide for you is locally produced and organically grown. Guest AccessYou are very welcome at The Bales. Feel free to wander around the five acres, take a picnic basket, your guitar and a bottle of wine down to the enormous old fig tree, go sit on the old punt piers at the river across the road and enjoy a spot of fishing, surf the web with our free wi-fi, and choose amongst the titles of our extensive range of DVD's. Interaction with GuestsWhilst Charlie and I love to meet our guests and settle you in, your comfort and privacy are important to us so you can be as independent as you like. You will have your own driveway and can come and go to suit your needs. Breakfast fare of organic and locally produced goods will be provided for you in the fridge (please let us know of any special dietary needs) and you can call on us if you need anything.
