RENTAL OF THE COMPLETE HOUSE, IT'S NOT BnB but I can't delete it on the site!
A perfect beach side gem only 1 minutes’ walk to the beautiful headlands at Lagide beach (Baleal main beach/wave area) and a perfect view of some of the most amazing waves to surf on in Europe. Only taking 4-5 minutes to walk down to the main Baleal beach. And Baia and Prainha beaches. Also near by, just a small dive up the farm land is Almagreia and Ricoda Mota.
And just 5 minute drive to the big scary waves of Supertubos
The house has sea views nearly all the way around and normally the only noise you will hear while relaxing in the garden is the sound of the sea. It's 4 bedrooms and 4 shower/toilet rooms one of which has a bath. It sleeps comfortably 8 people but with a small surcharge we can accommodate 10 people.
The top of the house is the attic room where we have tons of space and 4 single beds with one shower and toilet room. There's a balcony with perfect views across to the sea and Baleal Island and the Berlenga Islands. (Where if you’re lucky you might see the Dolphins swim)
On the middle floor is 3 bedrooms, one has an en-suite and the other 2 have a balcony and there's a family bathroom, shower and toilet here.
Out the back of the house are only farm land and sea views so it’s a real calm area. The farm lane drives you straight to the 5 star, Marriott Hotel, 5 minutes away and Praia del Reys World Class golf course. (You will often see Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portuguese National team training there as it's their training ground at the football pitch in P del R nearly every time they have a game together.)
Down stairs is the lovely seaside living room with lots of blue and white to give you the great feel of being at the seaside, it's very bright and welcoming. There's also a toilet and shower room here. In the kitchen dining area is seating at the tables for up to 10 people. The kitchen has all the utensils and utilities that are required for a nice home from home holiday.
We are up a very quiet lane so it's easy to park your car and we have off street parking if travellers feel it's necessary.
Out on the road side are a great couple of bars, which have live music and snooker/pool tables and the normal extra-large TV’s for the religious watching of all the football matches Europe has to offer.
The area it's self has many beach bars and live music and disco's but with great family atmosphere. Portuguese kids stay up very late in the holidays! They go out a lot with their families to bars.
We are 2 minutes by car from Ferrel village which has all the foods you need including fresh caught fish daily, sold at the road side, great for the barbie and an amazing Bakery/coffee shop that sells lovely fresh bread and cakes daily.
We are also only 5 minutes from Peniche by car and that has the best traditional Portuguese fish restaurants that even Gordon Ramsey loved when he visited.
Obidos and it's incredible historic World Heritage site is about 12 minutes away by car and Caldas da Rainha city is 20 minutes.
You can get buses to most places and taxes are pretty cheap locally. If you want to get the bus from Lisbon it's at "Sete a Rios" or "Campo Grande" to Peniche then a 5 minutes cab ride to my house, it's easy. (Check their time tables on line)
This area is completely unique and wonderful because it's not spoiled like the Algarve by over development and commercialism. Everyone who visits wants to stay, it has everything for young and old alike and it's chilled, super beautiful and that’s why we have the Rip Curl World Surfing Championships held here every year now in October and a Hugh music festival which attracts all the Portuguese Glitterati. It’s totally relaxing and a real place of magic. Did I mention the wine? :)
A little piece if paradise on the edge of the Atlantic coast. You have sea views nearly all around my house which is up a quiet lane leading to the headlands then straight down to the beach. It's a top destination in Europe with surfers and it is becoming known globally because the last few years "RIP CURL PRO WORLD SURFING CHAMPIONSHIPS" have been held here each October just 5 minutes walk down to the beach. And you can surf nearly all year around.
It's also great if you like to cycle as there are many good cycle paths at the back of my house and other fun activities include, stand up paddle boarding, absailing, paragliding, equestrian, windsurfing, snorklingand deep sea diving, especially around the beautiful Island of the Berlengas (depending on the time of the year) You might even see some dolphins?
Besides the surf this area is hostorically popular as we have the wonderful Obidos World Heritage site about a 10 minute drive away and most of the year it holds great fun events inside it's castle walls like in August is the Medieval Festival and a great Christmas festival and the World famous Obidos Chocolate festival which has had various dates over the last few years but it's normally around May. Coming back towards my house is the fishing port of Peniche and if you are a great foodie and fish lover you will certainly enjoy the daily fresh catches that are served up in the many resteraunts. Gordan Ramsey said the fish and the resteraunts were 5 star.
It's also a top location for golfers with several competing local golf locations including award winning "Praia del Rey, Bom Sucesso and the newby Royal Obidos Golf resort" all within 10 minutes of my house.
If you just want to rest, lazy and walk, we have several bars and local eateries and Ferrel village is well stocked with everything you need for good food and wine. Most weekends and in peek season the bars all have music or bands and the whole family is always welcome as Portugal nd especially the Silver Coast is a total family location and almost completely calm and trouble free.
It's easy to park at my house and around the area except in August is packed at the beach but it doesn't matter because from my house you don't need a car to go to the beach, it's only 5 minutes walk. PERFECT :)
