The SpaceThis cottage is the UK home of travel writer and author Stanley Stewart -- (website hidden). It is a cosy and charming home with tasteful furnishings and decor from around the world as well as an extensive library. French windows lead from the large kitchen to the garden which is small, a little wild, but much loved. There are beautiful views from the end of the garden southwards towards the Dorset Downs. There is also a small book lined library, a comfortable living room, a bedroom with two single beds and a guest loo on the ground floor. Upstairs is a large landing with a divan or day bed, a double bedroom and a large family bathroom with a bath, a bidet and a shower. The house stands on a quiet road on the edge of an even quieter village. There are plenty of walks from the front door. Guest AccessGuests will have the house and garden and one parking space to themselves. One room - the study - will be locked and off bounds as it will contain personal items of the owner. Interaction with GuestsThere will be no-one else on the premises. The house will be cleaned before guests arrival and is not normally cleaned during a stay unless clients request it for longer stays. The NeighborhoodFifehead Magdalen is a quiet village in a wonderful position in North Dorset close to the Wiltshire and Somerset borders. It is a very rural area -- there are no motorways in Dorset and no cities with the exception of Bournemouth down on the coast. Fifehead is ten minutes from Shaftesbury and 15 from Sherborne, both charming Dorset towns with interesting independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Stourhead, Salisbury, Bruton and Blandford Forum are all close at hand while Stonehenge, Cerne Abbas, Bath, Glastonbury, Wells, Purbeck, Lyme Regis and Dorset's Jurassic Coast make easy day excursions. There are shops, gastro pubs, restaurants, and National Trust properties within a short driving distance and the area has endless walking and biking possibilities.There is a wonderful farm shop just 5 minutes away and plenty of local supermarkets. Getting AroundA guests would need to have a car to get around and there is one parking space available in front of the house and additional parking at the village hall just a few minutes walk away. Other Things to NoteThis is a fabulous house with character and the feeling of a real home, not a rather sterile rental property. It takes 4 guests in 2 bedrooms but could easily accomodate a 5th guest on an excellent bed in a spacious landing area.

The SpaceThis is a very quiet, large and comfortable room on the ground floor of our converted barn. There is an en suite shower room, which has continual hot water. There is; a digital tv, fridge, free wi-fi, separate entrance, parking close to the front door and secure storage for bikes. Breakfast is served in your room at a time to suit you, breakfast is continental style with Croissant, pain chocolate, toast, teas and coffee. The cost is £70.00 for two or £50.00 for single occupancy per night. Discounts for long than 3 nights are available. We are in the middle of Thomas Hardy country, with lots of walks near by, traditional English pubs within a short walk and the Jurassic coast is about 45 minutes drive away. The Saxon hill town of Shaftesbury and the Abbey town of Sherborne are both close by. The NeighborhoodDeep in the North Dorset country side, at the heart of Thomas Hardy country.

      This beautiful, cosy and tastefuly decorated terrrace cottage is the perfect base for exploring Dorset and Southwest England. Owned by a renowned travel writer & author, it contains decorations from all over the world, as well as a large and fascinating library. There are 2 bedrooms, a cosy lounge with an open fire and a large airy kitchen & dining area. French windows lead from the kitchen to the garden which is small, a little wild, but much loved -- there is plenty of room to have lunch outside but you might struggle to organise a football tournament. There are beautiful views from the end of the garden southwards towards the Dorset Downs. As well as the kitchen and living room, the ground floor has a small book-lined library, a bedroom with two single beds and a small toilet. Upstairs is a large landing with a divan or day bed that could be used to accommodate a fifth person, or perhaps just for afternoon naps, a bedroom with a double bed and a large family bathroom with bath, sink, bidet and shower. The house stands on a quiet road on the edge of an even quieter village. There are plenty of walks from the front door. There is WiFi throughout the house, TV and DVD, a stereo system for CD's and all necessary equipment and facilities, including a gas hob, an electric oven, and a well-stocked kitchen. Weekly guests will find a welcome pack of essentials on arrival to get them started, including a bottle of wine. There is parking in front of the cottage. The village of Fifehead Magdalen is too small for its own shop but there is an excellent farm shop less than ten minutes away, and large supermarkets less than fifteen minutes away. The house lies roughly halfway between Sherborne and Shaftesbury in North Dorset. Both are classic English market towns with lots of independent shops and boutiques as well as the ruins of an occassional castle and medieval monastery. There are numberous excellent gastro pubs and restaurants in the area, as well as horse riding, tennis, golf, childrens' playgrounds. gyms, spas and masses of great country walks. The house is located on the edge of a small quiet village with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. There are numerous walks from the front door. Fifehead Wood is two minutes away. The delightful towns of Sherborne and Shaftesbury are nearby for shopping.

              The SpaceDuncliffe chalet provides the perfect getaway from busy lives yet is central for many attractions and all within easy driving distance. This spacious three bedroom accommodation offers something different than the converted farm barn with timber clad sloping ceilings and open plan lounge, kitchen/diner. New for August 2015 - A six seater hot tub is now available for guests staying in Duncliffe chalet. For added privacy there is now a fully enclosed gazebo giving enough space to sit and chat with those enjoying the soothing warm water. Guest AccessPlease collect the keys from the farmhouse after 4.00pm. If you are unexpectedly delayed or intend to arrive after 6.00pm please contact me and I will arrange for the keys to be left in a safe place. I will either introduce myself later or the following morning. All my guests have access to our new games room which provides numerous activities for all ages. There are four chalets and a large communal grassed area to the back of all the chalets to play football and also great for riding bikes. We are proud of our Dairy cows and welcome visitors to watch the milking. During the summer months we have many calves to feed and we are more than happy to involve our guests to bottle feed the youngsters, some only a few days old. Interaction with GuestsDepending on your arrival time I will show you around the chalet and explain a few things you will need to know during your stay. I always assure guests that if they are in need of something particularly in the kitchen that is not present that if possible I will gladly loan to them for the duration of their stay.                       Cette belle, confortable et tastefuly décorées terrasse cottage est une base idéale pour explorer le Dorset et sud-ouest de l'Angleterre. Possédé par un écrivain célèbre voyage & l'auteur, il contient des décorations de partout dans le monde, ainsi qu'une bibliothèque vaste et fascinante. Il y a 2 chambres à coucher, un salon confortable avec une cheminée et une grande cuisine spacieuse & salle à manger. Windows Français mènent de la cuisine au jardin qui est petit, un peu sauvage, mais très aimé--il y a beaucoup de place pour le déjeuner à l'extérieur, mais vous pourriez peinent à organiser un tournoi de football. Il y a une vue magnifique de la fin du jardin vers le sud vers les bas de Dorset. Ainsi que de la cuisine et la salle de séjour, au rez de chaussée a une petite bibliothèque bordées de livre, une chambre avec deux lits simples et une petite toilette. L'étage est un grand palier avec divan ou lit de jour qui pourraient servir à accueillir une cinquième personne, ou peut-être juste pour la sieste l'après-midi, une chambre avec un lit double et une grande salle de bain familiale avec salle de bain, lavabo, bidet et douche. La maison se trouve dans une rue calme en bordure d'un village encore plus silencieux. Il ya beaucoup de promenades de la porte d'entrée. Il y a WiFi dans toute la maison, TV et DVD, un système stéréo CD et tous les équipements nécessaires et comprend une cuisinière à gaz, un four électrique et une cuisine bien garnie. Hebdomadaire vous trouverez un pack de bienvenue des éléments essentiels à l'arrivée pour les obtenir commencé, incluant une bouteille de vin. Il ya un parking devant la maison. Le village de Fifehead Magdalen est trop petit pour sa propre boutique, mais il y a un magasin de la ferme excellente moins de dix minutes à l'extérieur et grands supermarchés moins de quinze minutes de l'hôtel. La maison se situe à peu près à mi-chemin entre Sherborne et Shaftesbury dans North Dorset. Les deux sont des villes anglaises classiques de marché avec beaucoup de boutiques indépendantes et de boutiques ainsi que les ruines d'un château occasionnels et le monastère médiéval.                         Melbury is one of four chalets set in the grounds of a working dairy farm in North Dorset. Awarded 4* by Visit Britain this Scandinavian style accommodation is perfect for families and friends re-uniting or as a base for exploring our beautiful Dorset countryside Spacious throughout with all mod cons. Two bedrooms on first floor and a downstairs double. This bedroom leads out onto an open plan kitchen diner and lounge. The large master bedroom has it's own balcony and en-suite shower room and the twin room has views towards the wooded Duncliffe hill and Shaftesbury beyond. The lounge leads out onto a large veranda with it's own six seater hot tub. After a long tiring day sightseeing why not unwind in your own hot tub whilst watching the brilliant orange sunset go down. Melbury chalet is the perfect base. Central for many attractions such as Salisbury Cathedral, Bath & the coast. Closer attractions include Shaftesbury's Gold Hill, Stourhead, Longleat & Dorchester. The latest facility is a new games room. just a short distance from the chalets. It comprises of table tennis, air hockey, table football and two coin operated pool table's. Plenty to keep you occupied.

                          Named after the family that lived here for four generations, Abbotts Cottage is a beautifully appointed cottage, perfect for two people and quietly situated along a winding country lane in the parish of Stour Provost, 3½ miles from Gillingham (main line railway station to London) and 4 miles from the Saxon hilltop town of Shaftesbury. The west end of the cottage has recently been completely refurbished and harmoniously extended to provide a self-catering cottage to a particularly high specification. The accommodation is a contrast of old and new; the original part – sitting room and both bedrooms – is simple, unfussy yet full of charm, while the extension, comprising a light, spacious and very well equipped dining room, leading out to the garden, is contemporary in style with a polished, limestone floor, honed granite work surfaces and integral appliances. The property is situated within the grounds of a family home at the bottom of a quiet cul-de-sac of just four properties with a view over adjoining fields and countryside public footpaths leading from the door of the property. The local Spar is a five minute walk and two local pubs offering excellent food just 15 minutes walk/ 5 minutes drive. There is a good choice of further eating places within a 10 mile/ 15 minute radius. Yew Tree View offers comfortable, self-catering accommodation in the beautiful village of Marnhull, North Dorset. Marnhull boasts the famed 'Pure Drop Inn' mentioned in local writer Thomas Hardy's 'Tess of the D'urbervilles' and is close to the ancient towns of Shaftesbury (home of Gold Hill) and Sherborne with its 10th Century Abbey. The local area has an abundance of footpaths and quiet lanes for walking, riding and cycling. Market Towns of Dorchester and Wimborne Minster are both within half an hour's drive.                                 Guest AccessBarrelstore cottage is a detached cottage adjacent to Blakes cottage where Francis and I live. You have your own secluded area of the garden with table and 4 chairs. We always respect your privacy. Interaction with GuestsFrancis and I are usually available at some point during each day and in the evening. The NeighborhoodA very beautiful and peaceful location, you will be staying in a building that is part of a 19th century country brewery. The Barrel Store Cottage is tucked away behind the old brewery building. Situated in a "no through" road on the edge of Marnhull village, there are footpaths across the fields in all directions that lead to the surrounding villages and towns. There are 2 attractive country pubs within 2 miles that serve great food, best to travel there by car as there is no pavement. Getting AroundRural bus service is fairly limited in this area and a car is essential for guests to make the most of their stay. There is a mainline railway station 7 miles away at Gillingham, 2 hours direct to London Waterloo, 30 minutes to Salisbury, under 2 hours to Exeter in Devon. Dorset is an excellent county for cycling holidays.

                                The SpaceWelcome to Blue Hills! We would hope you'd feel very at home here in your own private living space which forms the basement of our family home. There is a comfortable lounge with sofa, table and chairs, bookcase, and a large flat screen T.V with a surround sound system, Freeview, a DVD player and a good selection of DVDs. A small step up takes you into a separate bedroom for a comfortable nights sleep were the bed is made up of 100% cotton bedding. There is a kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle etc as well as all the essentials. There is also a bread machine if you fancy waking up to freshly baked bread in the morning! The bathroom has a good sized shower with the provision of all the essential toiletries and towels. We are very well situated for visits to Bath, Salisbury, Stonehenge, the Jurassic Coast, Shaftesbury (Gold Hill), the new Hauser & Wirth gallery/restaurant in Bruton, Longleat, Stourhead National Trust and much more. Step out of the door and you have instant beautiful walks and cycle routes to take. Guest AccessThe flat can be privately accessed at the rear of the property where there are 2 small steps down to a gravelled area before entering the house. You'd be very welcome to sit out in the garden and enjoy the views. The location of our home allows you to step out of the door and go for a country walk in all directions. The local pub 'The Stapleton Arms' is a 1.2 mile walk away serving great food and drink. There is a spiral staircase from the kitchen which leads into our private living area. Interaction with GuestsThere is a folder of information regarding local amenities, places of interest, places to eat, takeaways etc. However, we would be on hand to give you all the information you need if required. We have 2 friendly cats who may come and say hello but rest assured, there is a door into your lounge which will stop them from any visits in the night! Interaction can be as much or as little as required; We are really happy to help/advise on anything, but equally aware of your privacy. We will be around and about, particularly in the summer, gardening etc. Other Things to NoteThe flat is on the ground floor so there are no stairs. However, there are 2 steps from the garden to the house, a small step into the bedroom and a small step into the kitchen. Any major mobility difficulties may pose a difficulty. The flat is below our lounge and kitchen area so you may hear us walking around!
