The SpaceStay with us in our historic home, once home to Army Officers at Fort Benjamin Harrison on Indianapolis' northeast side, just minutes from downtown. Your suite is our third floor - two bedrooms each with a queen bed, a shared bath has double sinks, claw foot tub, separate shower and toilet room. And we invite you to join us in the formal dining room for breakfast! We have a total of 3 listings available. The other two with a queen size bed and private bath located on our second floor. When not in downtown Indianapolis, relax in our lower level den watching the big screen TV, or playing darts or board games in this all brick "English Pub" style setting. If you enjoy the outdoors, there is no better place to be. You can walk to the State park just behind our home. State Park amenities include biking hiking off road biking trails, horseback riding, fishing, playgrounds and picnic sites. Great location and extra fun if you are traveling with three or four couples. Guest AccessGuests will park on the road in front of the home unless special event requires vehicles to be off the road. Guests may enjoy our first floor living quarters with limited access to the kitchen. The lower level includes a den area but the office space is unavailable. Guest rooms are private to each paying resident. Master suite is unavailable to any visitors. Interaction with GuestsWe will be living at the home during all rental opportunities and welcome casual conversation while at home. There is plenty of room to find solitude in the home, on the porch or patio too. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is historic, grand, and tells a lovely story. Green spaces abound with the 38 acre military parade field out our front door, and the Fort Harrison State Park out back. It seems as you're thrown back in time as you sit on the front covered porch and watch walkers, joggers and bicyclists along the street enjoying the quaint neighborhood. As Lawrence and the closed Fort Benjamin Harrison is redeveloped, more and more amenities are popping up in the historic Fort buildings. Great golf course, restaurants and a brewery to name a few.
Getting AroundThere is very limited bus service to downtown Indianapolis. The amenities at the Fort are all within walking distance. Downtown Indianapolis is a 15 minute drive. Close access to Interstates I(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and others. Other Things to NoteThere is a wonderful Gazebo on common property that's perfect for outdoor weddings. If you are staying with us, we can reserve the use of the gazebo for you with ample notice. There is also a beautiful and historic hotel within walking distance for additional guests. Only Lawton Loop residents and guests may use the gazebo, and we would be honored to reserve it for you.
