The SpaceLower level guest room with a double bed, single bed and optional single futon bed. Also your own living room and a private full bathroom. Fireplace and wireless internet are included. We are on the west side of Madison near the "beltline" and city bus. We are also near the West Towne Shopping Mall and many restaurants. Private entrance through the garage. Your hosts are mother and daughter homeowners with interests in history, sustainable living, literature, Frank Lloyd Wright, writing, teaching, traveling, genealogy and gardening. The guest room was remodeled for your enjoyment after we won a contest for Madison's ugliest room. A local TV channel offered a makeover--furniture, flooring, artwork, painting--for the "winning" room, and all viewers were invited to vote. What was once an unappealing, unfinished room blossomed into a pleasant, comfortable space, which we enjoy sharing with guests! The room includes a refrigerator, microwave, pod coffeemaker and disposable tableware. This is our attempt to provide you with a kitchenette. We welcome people for lengthy stays, but city regulations prohibit paying guests from using the family kitchen. There's a laundromat a mile away, and a variety of restaurants are in the area. Guest AccessThe guest bedroom, adjoining hall, bathroom and family room/living room are yours exclusively. The family room opens to a backyard patio which is yours to use, and the back yard has a tree fort play structure you or your kids are welcome to enjoy! Interaction with GuestsWe will welcome you when you arrive and give you the code to open the garage door, so you can come and go at any time. We provide packaged cold breakfast items in your room. Feel free to use us as a resource on the local area and places of interest! We want you to enjoy our city as much as we do. The NeighborhoodWe live in an established, wooded area with a large city park at the end of the street. Our tree-lined street is home to many birds and squirrels, as well as the occasional fox or raccoon. We know and like all our neighbors. Getting AroundWe are fifty yards from a city bus stop that serves travelers heading in to the university or capitol area of the city. Our house has ample on-street parking, and you can park in the drive with no trouble. We are on the other side of town from the airport, so a cab will be needed to reach us if you come by air. The bus will get you here, too, but it's a long ride from the airport. If you drive, we are easily reachable from all area interstates and highways 12, 18, 14 and 151. Other Things to NoteIf you suffer from cat allergies, this may be a difficult house for you to stay in. However, the cat is scrupulously kept out of the guest bedroom, so that area, at least, should not exacerbate your symptoms. We are proud to be licensed and inspected by the city. Our $69 price includes the city room tax. You pay NO extra fees.

The SpaceTotally private, with separate entrance, the suite has a private patio with bistro table & chairs. Guests can use the larger pebbled patio and expansive, wooded garden during their stay. .......................... There is a 'living room' area with comfortable sofa and two chairs, glass cocktail table, and a desk with two chairs. New Samsung HD-TV with access to movies and DVDs. Original fine art prints, photographs and textiles hang on the walls, and hand-embroidered, down-filled pillows adorn the comfy sofa. ...................... A hallway leads to a commodious marble bathroom with large, Kohler soaking tub and separate shower, Toto water-efficient toilet and sink. All other fixtures are by Kohler. Underfloor heating to keep you warm and toasty in winter, as well as ceiling heat and de-humidifying fans. ................ Queen bed w/top-end mattress. ALL bedding and toweling is 100% cotton. Pillows are 100% down & feathers with 100% cotton inner-liners. Blanket is 100% fine Merino wool made in Italy, and Comforter is filled with 100% white goose down. (IF you are allergic to any of these materials, please let us know prior to booking. We will try, but may not be able to make an appropriate substitution for your visit.) ................ This guest suite is perfect for two (2) people. Therefore, we do NOT permit more than two (2) guests to stay here overnight. Sorry, we love children, but our guest suite is not suitable for children under 16. Guest AccessGuest access to the suite is wholly separate from the main house. A private stone path, illuminated at night, leads from the street to the garden gate. From this gate to the guest suite, guests will (usually) have the entire area to themselves during their stay. You can use the patio and wander the woodland setting at your leisure. The guest suite has its own door to the patio, so you can come and go as you please. (There are outdoor lights on the pathway & trees at night, to illuminate the outdoor area.) Interaction with GuestsWe will always be here to greet & welcome you! In fact, we live in the main house, which is up a set of stairs from the guest suite. The door to the stairs will be locked. We are always available via phone or text, for advice, help or otherwise. The guest suite is supplied with a selection of coffee and tea. There's also a small refrigerator and freezer compartment, which we stock with water and soda. The NeighborhoodNakoma, founded in 1915, is one of Madison's most historic and beautiful neighborhoods. It has a landmarks-listed collection of architect designed houses. (Our house is one of those 'listed.') Trees abound along its winding roads, named after great Native American tribes of the Midwest. Nakoma Country Club is not far from our house, as is the wonderful UW-Arboretum. The Arboretum has about 1,200 acres of prairie, savannah, woodlands, lakes and botanical gardens that are laced with walking, hiking, jogging & biking paths. Wild turkeys, hawks, birds of all kinds abound, as do other rare fauna and flora. Getting AroundWe are just north of the Beltline Highway, which circles Madison, off the Seminole Highway exit, coming from the East. Public bus lines run along Seminole Highway and Nakoma Road, both a short walk away. One can take public transit to the University or to Randall Stadium for football games, to avoid traffic jams and having to pay for parking. (The latter is especially costly on game days.) Other Things to NotePlease know that our commodious guest suite with its private entrance, is located in what some might call a lower level or 'basement.' Prior to becoming our guest suite, it was in fact, the previous owner's fine art studio, due to its beautiful light. So, while technically on the lower 'garden level' of our house, it has many windows and is filled with Eastern and Northern sunlight all day long.

The SpaceNo smoking, personal pets must be cat friendly, it's not in pristine condition and I am certainly no decorator but it's clean and quiet. I have a lot to offer you and you children. Anything you see can be utilized and played with. I do have two cats (one is extremely friendly), a lizard in an aquarium, and two rabbits in a large cage. If you don't like animals this is NOT the place for you. Guest AccessAccess to all areas and amenities Interaction with GuestsCan be available at check-in/check-out, available by phone and texts The NeighborhoodSafe neighborhood in a residential area. My place is within 20 minutes to anywhere in Madison and 10 minutes to the University area. This would be a great place to stay if you're attending a football game as the Great Dane (a few blocks away) has a shuttle to the UW. Apparently Uber isn't the easiest to find at a reasonable rate but consider we are in a residential area so not many drivers hang around out location. Getting AroundPublic transportation within a few blocks, 1 free underground parking on site, free outdoor parking in lot or on the street. Other Things to NoteI also own a dog, however, she is always gone when I am gone on weekends. There will be 2 cats, one rabbit (cage), and a gecko (aquarium) who stay with you. I just want you to be aware of this in case you may have allergies to dog or rabbit hair. The food dish you see is NOT for the cats. Their food is hidden away so if the bowl is empty, that's ok!

Other Things to NoteThe house is a unique and conveniently located house. The SpaceThis listing is for Room#3 of 3 - Downstairs rec-room, laundy and bathroom. This is so much more than a crash pad and perfect for groups up to 5 people wanting to spend time together in a mulit-use space. There is ping-pong table, a mini-fridge stocked with various drinks and snack packages. There is also a full-sized refrigerator in the laundry room for guests to use. Since this space has an separate, outside entrance, it is possible for guests to come and go, using a lock code, without coming up to the front or back door to get into the house. The basement is connected via stairs by our other two, upstairs listed, rooms. We do ask guests using this space to respect the peace of others who might be staying above. When there is no one upstairs, noise is not a problem as our private bedrooms are at the other end of the house and this has always been a space for the kids to have fun. Please consider booking a few days with us, unplug from the pressure cooker of city life and just breathe, read a book, take a nap and go for a long walk, down a quiet country road without needing to drive for hours and hours to get there. This is our little slice of Heaven. We are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We can interact with you as much or as little as you like. Depending on the weather and if you are familiar with horses, for a small fee, I can give you a riding lesson in our large outdoor arena or go for a trail ride at one of our many, horses friendly, county parks. This is our primary residence with 3 listings while our children are off to college. Their rooms and bathrooms and rec-room stand vacant and thus, available to host Air BNB guests. We are not a formal bed and breakfast but we have an amazing location, just off the beaten path, in a peaceful and relaxing environment. Coffee, tea and basic breakfast items are included included. We do not have central air conditioning but due to the way the house is situated on our lot, large eves and many windows, the house stays very comfortable. The downstairs has air conditioning. Country life at its best! Close to EPIC and downtown Madison. We have a fenced orchard for dogs to use in front of the house as well as sections of the sheep paddock that can be used by a dog who doesn't know how to jump higher than 4 feet. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pets. We will show you where the appropriate equipment is and where the waste goes for the each type of pet. If you have brought a cat, you should bring your own litter box. We will show you where to put the bagged up kitty waste as needed. Please call if you have any other questions about our pet policy which is thoroughly described in our house rules. There is a playground, an outdoor riding arena, and a 6 acre fenced field with a walking path that has a friendly, large mulberry tree at the back of our property with a bench where you can really enjoy the sounds of Nature. There is a small bonefire area in the back for "camping out" visitors. There is no electricity, water or restroom in the back. We have a front porch for you to greet the rising sun with plenty of space for morning yoga, during the warmer months. It is surrounded by our butterfly garden and feels very private even though it is in front of the house. We have a deck off the back where we often enjoy watching the sun set. There is a very comfortable futon, plenty of seating and a table with a large umbrella. There is plenty of space for yoga on the deck, as well as front of the deck, in the yard. There are many gardens in various stages of maintenance. In 2014, our family was hit with massive health issues and the gardens were put on the back burner. I am still working to reclaim them and enhance them. There is plenty of outdoor parking by the barn, the garage and behind the house if you need handicap access to the upstairs. Handicap access to the downstairs listing is through the garage. Guest AccessThis space is accessible from upstairs front or back door and through the garage. It is handicap accessible through the garage. A code is needed to get into the house from the garage. Interaction with GuestsWe are home most days, all day. I spend most of my time out in the gardens or with the animals. My husband is disabled from cancer so he is around, but inside more than me. We can interact with you as much or as little as you desire. We go to bed pretty early so if you are a night owl, you probably will have the house to yourself. Our mornings are pretty slow and quiet too. Things run slow out here. A perfect getaway from the city. A simple breakfast selection comes with the room such as coffee, tea, and basic breakfast items. The NeighborhoodOur road is about 1.5 miles long and we live in the middle of it. There are only 7 houses on our road and all the neighbors are friendly but tend to keep to themselves. The Oregon community is a friendly, small town, safe and fairly boring. There is an amazing coffee shop called The Firefly located in downtown Oregon, about 10 min or less from our place. We are 25 minutes from Madison, the UW-MADISON and State Street. Travel times may vary. There are so many things to do within 100 miles, I could write a book. If you love the quiet outdoors, this is the place for you. Getting AroundUnfortunately, we have no public transportation. We do have several UBER drivers in town but guests should have their own form of transportation. Other Things to NoteWe do not allow smoking near any of the buildings on the property, especially the hay - common sense reminds us that many, many things are flammable on a farm. When the weather is pleasant, we generally light a bonefire and enjoy a cold beverage, fireflies and the Milky Way. We have in-house wifi but it is not very reliable. We are hoping to have cable laid soon to provide consistent service for both my husband's line of work in IT and for our guests. It is encouraged to check your data limits as it is easy to run over that out here. Our pet policy should be clarified. Ahna, our GSD lives inside and is a Service Dog in Training. She is respectfully friendly to all other humans, dogs and cats. Every day reinforces her training and we ask that all guests please abide by the common cues of OFF, sit, stay, down, come and have her maintain the acceptable, calm behavior we expect from this wicked smart, loving dog. She sleeps in the master bedroom with Renée so no guest should feel like they have to interact with any of the fur family. Please notify us immediately that you will be bringing your own animal. We will need a few items that keeps both of us safe. We need a copy of the CURRENT year's vaccinations, brief health history and comfort level with strange animals. All animals must be collared and should be microchiped. Living out in the country means collars fall off and people who see a lost dog or cat, often take them in to help find the owners. Microchipping helps animals find their family quickly. Basic obedience cues are required in a dog over the age of 1 as is being house trained. The basics include but not limited to off, down, sit, stay and come. Again, this is a health and safety issue as we don't want anyone injured. Healthy, well socialized and trained animals cause few problems. A crate is required for any dogs or cats if you will be leaving the animal(s) on site while you visit one of the many attractions near us. This protects the house from any accidents as well as protects the animal from getting into something they shouldn't. Cats are welcome too and if you feel your feline family member needs "alone" time, we can make the downstairs bathroom that space, although we highly suggest you bring a crate for them in case you need to leave the property without them . Our 2 cats rarely come inside during the warm weather but during winter time, they spend much of their time inside. We let them decide if and when they want to go out in the cold. 2 med/large dog crates and 1 cat crate are available for $5/night, each. A covered, filled litter box and scooper is also available to rent for $5/night. If you are traveling with HORSES, please call at least, 2 DAYS in advance so we have a biosecure area for your equines. We could host up to 4 horses. We do require a current Coggins and health certificate from your vet. Again, another health and safety issue. We want your horses to enjoy their stay and keep everyone healthy. We live on clean well water with a few private turnout/stall options available. You do need to provide your own hay, grain and supplements. We have a 90 x 144 foot outdoor area and a little over 6 acre electric fenced field with a path. A future mulit-use park, including horse trails, has been bought by our county with a tentative 2018 date to have trails cleared. Our property is 100 feet from one of the corners of this park. We have at least 4 vet clinics within minutes of our homestead, several specialists within 50 miles as well as the UW-MADISON Vet School within about 30 min from our farm. Drive time may vary. There are numerous, quality farriers, chiropractors and body workers that can be scheduled to meet you on site if your horse is in need of additional work. We do charge a $10 booking fee for scheduling these appointments. The sooner you let us know what your needs are, the sooner we can ensure you acquire an appointment with the correct specialist. There is a $10/night stall fee. The stall fee includes a bedded stall that is cleaned daily and turnout to the outdoor arena or a small paddock near the sheep. This is dependent on the maturity of the horse as well as the weather. We want to keep everyone happy and healthy and not have a horse decide to go through a fence to get at the other horses.

The SpaceThis listing is for Room#1 of 3 -Upstairs bedroom and bathroom listing of my UW-Madison, son's room. Their rooms and bathrooms standing vacant and thus, available to host Air BNB guests. We are not a formal bed and breakfast but we have an amazing location, just off the beaten path, in a peaceful and relaxing environment and have coffee, tea and basic breakfast items included. Guest AccessThe upstairs is accessible through the front or back door as well as the lower level. The handicap parking and ramp is off the back of the house for use to get into the upstairs listings. Desk, dresser and a section of the closet in upstairs bedroom can be used by guest. The NeighborhoodOur road is about 1.5 miles long and we live in the middle of it. There are only 7 houses on our road and all the neighbors are friendly but tend to keep to themselves. The Oregon community is a friendly, small town, safe and fairly boring. There is an amazing coffee shop called The Firefly downtown Oregon. We are hoping to have cable laid late this summer to provide consistent service for both my husband's line of work in IT and for our guests. It is encouraged to check your data limits as it is easy to run over that out here. Our pet policy should be clarified. Ahna, our GSD lives inside and is a Service Dog in Training.
