Babies (up to 1 year) are the exception and I do not charge extra for them. * Also note - I do not hold times - if you ask availability I will tell you if it's available at that time but anyone else can book those times so I recommend booking as soon as I have pre-approved you to avoid disappointment . I also provide:- - fresh clean towels for all guests - all linen provided - free wifi internet - 32" flat screen LCD TV with remote - DVD & blu-ray player with remote - several family friendly DVD's to watch - Printer/copier/scanner (colour & B&W) - wifi printable from phone - hair dryer - iron & board, clothes drying racks - fridge with freezer - evaporative water cooler / humidifier - Good stereo with ipod dock, usb, cd player & radio - kids toy basket & chalk board - 2 baby high chairs, 1 kids car seat, & baby bath - fully equipped kitchen with all cooking utensils, pots, pans, cutlery - breakfast cereals - tea/coffee & milk - basic stove top & oven - microwave, kettle, toaster, sandwich toaster, blender - books/mags - heaters & fans - extra blankets to snuggle up with on cold Winter nights - electric blanket on main queen bed for those extra cold nights (I doubt you'd need it though) The apartment does NOT have: - Washing machine/dryer (there are laundromats nearby) - Air conditioner (there is an evaporative cooler and electric fans provided in main areas) Guest AccessWhole apartment to yourselves. The apartment has it's own entry, separate to the rest of the building. There is 1 step up from the main street so suitable for older or disabled guests. Check in is from 2pm but I am quite flexible depending on previous guests check out. You get several keys (enough for number of guests booked) Check out time is 11am unless otherwise arranged with me in advance. Everything in the apartment is there for you to use. Check in from 2pm unless otherwise discussed - if I don't have a booking the night before you can check in earlier. Interaction with GuestsI will meet you at the apartment to give you keys & run through basics but otherwise it's all yours. I live up the road so can come help with anything whenever you need (I work from home) ...and I love this city & can tell you all the best places to go & things to do! :) You can self check-out if you're needing to leave early in the morning but I'm happy to come down & check you out if you'd prefer. I also offer airport pick ups & drops for a fee - please ask in messages if you'd like this. The NeighborhoodFitzroy is the heart of Melbourne's art, cafe & pub culture. You literally walk out into Fitzroy's street art "gallery". There are great bars & cafes all around - but the apartment is located 1 street in from eclectic Brunswick Street so you won't get woken by the busy weekend street life. Within walking distance to the museum, exhibition buildings, Fitzroy pool & gym, Imax cinema, Lygon St restaurant district, Smith St shops, and a stones throw from the fabulous Rose St Markets (open Sat & Sun). Lot's of great pubs all around. Even though there is no garden or courtyard space attached to the apartment, there is a small park just up the street (50mts? away) with a great kids playground, BBQ, seating & trees - very peaceful. Melbourne is full of parks so lots of places to chill out under a tree. Getting AroundI provide multiple Myki cards that can be used on all public transport in Melbourne (trams, trains, buses). I leave it up to you to top up the Myki cards with credit to suit your needs. Tram on Brunswick Street (Route 11 West Preston) is one street away (1 min walk to stop) and will take you into the heart of the city in 10 minutes & continues on to Docklands precinct or you can swap over to Route 12 Victoria Gardens to St Kilda so you can easily get to the beach & penguins!!. Also trams on Nicholson Street at other end of the street take you to city or into Brunswick. Close to Eastlink freeway so you can easily get down the East coast beaches & Philip Island by car. Car parking available on street. I am happy to pick you up from airport for a fee. My car can transport up to 4 people plus me and luggage - we can discuss this in messages. Otherwise you can taxi (prob cost about $70 one way & take 30 - 40mins) or get the airport Skybus to the city which is $18 one way ticket & then tram to Brunswick St - check out their website for latest deals. PARKING: In the immediate area: across the road and down Leicester street there is unmetered/free 2 hour parking during the day from 7am to 7pm and then it is unlimited at night so you can leave your car there from 5pm till 9am in the morning (taking into account the 2 hours each side) Please read signs carefully - some are deceptive! There is a new parking lot that opened up diagonally opposite the apartment (entry from Rose St) - it's cheap and open 24hours a day and mostly undercover ...and has some pretty cool artwork on the walls! There is lots of other mixed parking around the area but the public transport is so great in Melbourne so if you're just spending time in the city and inner suburbs and you're questioning whether to hire a car I'd say don't - the trams are a great way to see the city and I provide Myki cards which you can easily top up credit at 7/11 stores and other similar places. Other Things to NoteI'm flexible & adaptable - any questions please ask!

The SpaceHi there, This listing is for one bedroom on the ground floor of my large 3 level home just off the wonderful Gertrude Street. (I have 2 rooms available - the other listing is 'Stunning Fitzroy own level+ensuite' listing #72576). This is an excellent spot for guests in Melbourne for a short time who want to live like a local. Or for those lucky folk who are moving to Melbourne (nice choice!) it's a great landing pad while you look for something permanent. Located in between action-packed Brunswick and Smith Streets, this is a fantastic, diverse area full of great cafes, restaurants, wonderful local pubs, art galleries, parks, live music venues, decent architecture and the Melbourne Museum. The beloved #86 tram (our 'tramily') and #12 are just at the end of the road giving easy access to other parts of this wonderfully liveable city. The house has all the mod cons mixed in with vintage collectables. And rare in Melbourne in that it is very light and bright. Guests are welcome to help themselves to the dining room, lounge room and balconies on Level 2, as well as the kitchen which has organic breads & from our local Fatto A Mano organic bakery (where I work part-time). If you want to cook there are some basics in the cupboard above the oven and herbs in the garden to get you started and plenty of cupboard & fridge space. Breakfast - help yourself to the organic breads, spreads, juice, bonsoy & fair-trade teas and coffee. The kitchen lights are tucked between the linen cupboard and the kitchen wall, on the dining room side. Bins are under the kitchen sink. As I Airbnb a room on Level 3 of the house you might see me, or other guests, in the kitchen or elsewhere on Level 2. But no-one comes to Melbourne to "cook and watch TV" so it's likely you might not see any of us at all (but you are welcome to cook and watch tv!). FROM THE AIRPORT - I recommend "StarBus Airport Shuttle" which brings you right into Fitzroy, operating from 5am till 7pm, 7 days. Cut and paste StarBus Airport Shuttle into your search engine for more info. Or a taxi for approx $60 is the fastest. Fitzroy is a wonderful, diverse, energetic area. Needless to say, I love it here, I'm sure you will too! Cheers, Ramona. Smoking: strictly outside on the dining room balcony only please, with the doors closed :) Children: not suited sorry Guests: please check with myself and other Airbnb guests first Guest AccessLevel 1 - your room, your own toilet, laundry, share bathroom, front door access Level 2 - shared dining room, lounge, kitchen & 2 large balconies (Level 3 is the other guest area of bedroom, bathroom, wee balcony & study) Interaction with GuestsThis is a very independent set up. Apart from our rooms on level 1 there is another guest room on level 3. As we are all usually out and about enjoying Melbourne it can be rare we run into each other but I'm always contactable on my phone :) The NeighborhoodOne of Melbourne's smallest urban areas, Fitzroy, is a real treasure of old and new, working class and gentrification, historic preservation and modern architecture. Right next to the city with the Fitzroy and Carlton gardens in between, it's never boring but very relaxed. If on the odd occasion it's a bit noisy there are ear plugs in your desk :) Diversity, cafes, boutiques, galleries, pubs, parks, restaurants, cocktail bars, music, street art = good vibes. Getting AroundThere is so much to offer in Fitzroy you could spend most of your time getting around on foot. I've left a local guide and map in your room and marked a square around the main Fitzroy Streets as a start. The 86 or 112 trams go straight into the city in about 10 minutes. Hire a bike from Little Creatures or one of the blue Melbourne Bike Share stations. Taxi or Uber Or if you have a car my Visitor's Parking Permit might be available - first in first served! Other Things to NoteIt's a good idea to check Melbourne's weather report before you arrive, we really can have "all seasons in 1 day" so it's wise to bring something warm even for those summer nights. I recommend the app 'Weatherzone'. Help yourself to the umbrellas at the bottom of the stairs!

The SpaceMost of the dwellings available in this area of Fitzroy and the edge of North Fitzroy are modern apartments. It's rare to find what we did - a cottage with old roses and a hedge of honeysuckle, a huge 80 year old elm tree, and a back yard paved with Melbourne bluestone on Fitzroy's famous Brunswick Street. The 11 tram stop is just metres from the front door, opening up the whole city. The neighbourhood is so vibrant, packed with so many places to eat, drink, relax, shop, be inspired, ride a bike, and soak in the glorious Smith Street/Gertrude Street/Brunswick Street triangle (more like a tuning fork than a triangle, actually!). For me, this is the real Melbourne. I love living here and I know it's a great place to just 'be'. Guest AccessThis is an entire private home. Guests will have access to the house, the backyard, the outdoor BBQ, kitchen equipment, linens, services and wifi. Unless you are travelling with children, I recommend my home for couples as the front room is set up as a nursery for my toddler and though it can comfortably sleep one adult on the big daybed as well as a baby in the cot, it is not ideal for adults. The master bedroom is ideal - it has a very comfortable bed in a spacious, high-ceilinged old room and is away from the noise of the busy, famous old thoroughfare of Brunswick Street. Interaction with GuestsI will be overseas during your stay but will provide great local, on-call support through my family who live in the neighbourhood. Getting AroundThe 11 tram leaves toward the city from right outside! From there you can connect to trams and trains all over Melbourne and beyond. A taxi to the city costs around $12, it's very close, and taxis come past all the time on Brunswick Street.

The Space This beautiful and spacious open plan style apartment sits on Brunswick St in the heart of Fitzroy. The apartment itself is located in the transformed Conduit Arts Initiative gallery space located just off Gertrude street. It is within walking distance of the Melbourne CBD as well as tram routes (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and 109 and 10 minutes walk from Parliament train station. It is a beautifully cool space in the summer with a polished concrete floor and a lovely high ceiling making it an intimate oasis just off the exciting hub that is Brunswick street. Inside the space is a queen size bed, ample hanging room for clothes, a lounge area and a dining/work table. The apartment is adorned with a selection of beautiful photographic prints by artist Todd Anderson-Kunert. Following the space through to the back, you will pass the kitchen and bathroom into our beautiful enclosed courtyard. It is a great place to enjoy your morning breakfast or relax in the sun with an afternoon beer. Aside from your own bedroom, lounge and dining area, you’ll be sharing the kitchen, bathroom, courtyard and laundry facilities with us. We are Leo, Marie and our (well behaved) 2 ½ year old son, Arve. We are the owners and directors of Conduit Arts Initiative who live in the apartment upstairs. Hi! Guest AccessYou’ll have access to a very well equipped kitchen with a huge range of appliances including a juicer, food processor and great cookware. We love cooking so enjoy a well stocked kitchen. We also have a huge fridge that we can give you a shelf or two of to save confusion if you’re with us for the long haul. There is a BBQ in the courtyard that you are welcome to use provided you look after cleanup duties at the end. The bathroom is a neat little space that also comprises the laundry. We have a beautiful old clawfoot iron bath with a shower set above so you have the option of a quick shower or a classy soak. We have a great washing machine as well as a drier but we have all the necessary equipment if you want to hang your washing out. If you want to keep your privates…….private, we have a laundromat 2 minutes stroll down the road too. Note: Both the toilet and bathroom are accessed via the outside courtyard Interaction with GuestsAs the kitchen and bathroom spaces are shared there will obviously be some interaction but we assure you we are completely normal and really quite nice. Our son is not going to run into your room at 6am to welcome you with a plastic dinosaur in the ear canal or ride roughshod over your bed on his scooter. Your apartment will be lockable from the inside so that there will be no disturbances and you will also have your own entry and exit from Brunswick street. We are a busy family and when we aren’t at work, hanging in the park or on a top secret mission we will most often be found upstairs working in our studios or rustling up something to eat. We aren’t party animals but have been known to have friends around for food and drink in the courtyard in the evening, which you are also welcome to do. The NeighborhoodFitzroy is one of the most exciting and vibrant neighbourhoods in Melbourne. Our apartment is perfectly located so that you can indulge in everything that the City, Brunswick street, Smith street, Gertrude street and the surrounding suburbs have to offer. The Melbourne Museum is 5 minutes walk away, right next to the expansive Carlton Gardens. Fitzroy pool is a short walk or tram ride away, not far from Edinburgh Gardens. We are surrounded by an array of cafes, restaurants, boutiques and great shopping. We also have a lovely, organic supermarket very close by. Fitzroy also has many galleries and live music venues, including Uptown Jazz Cafe and the Workers Club. The Melbourne Theatre district is also very close by and easy to get to. We are happy to give you some specific local knowledge during your stay if you’re interested. Getting AroundWe have a parking permit that comes with the apartment so if you have a car, short and long-term parking will be free in the surrounding streets. Other Things to NoteConduit Arts operates for eleven months of the year, showing emerging and established musicians, performers and artists from Melbourne, around Australia and the World. By staying with us you will be supporting a not-for-profit initiative that has, for the past 2.5 years, facilitated the ongoing experimentation of upcoming art makers. If you’re travelling with a baby you are more than welcome to stay with us. We are able to provide a port-a-cot with the space for the duration of your stay. We are always contactable should you need us and are happy to help in anyway possible. We also have a great cafe “Martha Rays” right next door to us should you need a coffee within stumbling distance in the morning. Due to our own caffeine habits though we are quite well equipped in that department as well. The minimum stay is 2 nights, however if a one night, midweek booking is preferred please contact us to discuss the option further. We’re also happy to discuss any other questions you may have.

The SpaceIdeal for a single person or couple, the apartment is very light, clean and spacious with a lovely atmosphere. It is often compared to a tree-house as it is surrounded by greenery, flowers and birds. As you near the entrance stairs you are surrounded by bamboo, the front door is overlooked by a huge fig tree (bare in winter and full in summer) and the balcony and living room are shaded by an amazing and huge lemon scented gum tree whose smell wafts inside with the breeze. Built in the 1950’s the space is clean, and the design classic. It has thick parquetry floorboards and large windows. The furnishings are stylish and uncluttered. The space is quiet and private and on entering you will notice that it has a great energy about it. In the bedroom, there is a very comfortable, high quality queen size bed. Fresh towels and bed linen are provided. There is hanging space in the bedroom closet and ample storage for bags. The couch in the living room can sleep a third person if necessary. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all the appliances you'll need. I only provide a basic stovetop coffee percolator as you are staying in Fitzroy! There are so many café options to be explored. The balcony has a small table and chairs and a city view through the trees. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cold drink after a long day of sightseeing or work. The space is comfortable and relaxing and set up for you to enjoy your time in Melbourne whether it be a long weekend, or extended stay of one to two months. The apartment is cleaned by a professional cleaner. Guest AccessThe apartment has wireless Internet access. There are all sorts of books and brochures about things to do in Melbourne. The shared laundry has a washing machine and dryer. There is full access on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and shared access on other days. There is an off street parking space for one car. Once the reservation is confirmed I’ll send through the check in details. Check in is at 3pm and check out at 11am. Late arrivals are fine as I can leave the keys waiting for you in a lock box. If you need to drop your bags off earlier, just let me know when you make the reservation as it is often possible to arrange this. Interaction with GuestsThe apartment is your own quiet and private retreat right in the heart of Melbourne. I am overseas at the moment so I won’t be there to meet and greet you when you arrive. I have a Property Manager who is available if there is an emergency so I will provide her details once the reservation is booked. Of course I am also available on email or text message if you have questions at any time. On arrival you will also find comprehensive information about the apartment and things to do in the area. The NeighborhoodThe apartment is located in the heart of Fitzroy - one of the most iconic, vibrant, hip and central neighbourhoods in Melbourne. Fitzroy is known for the best shops, restaurants, bars, galleries, music, graffiti, street life and people watching. Truthfully, there is too much going on to begin to list it all! Walk to Brunswick St, Gertrude St, Smith St, Lygon St and the Melbourne CBD. The apartment is located opposite Carlton Gardens, Exhibition Buildings and the Melbourne Museum. It is close to Melbourne University, RMIT and St Vincent’s Hospital. All important services are within short walking distance. There are two supermarkets, many cafes, banks, pharmacies, bakeries, restaurants, parks, a cinema, music venues and more. Getting AroundWalk to Brunswick St, Gertrude St, Smith St, Lygon St and the Melbourne CBD (less than 1km or 10-15 mins). I have guests tell me that they didn't end up taking any transport as there is so much to explore on foot. The trams 86, 96 and 112 are all within a five minute walk. Parliament Train Station is a ten minute walk (or 3 minute tram ride) and can take you anywhere in Melbourne. There are many bike paths in the area. If you feel like hiring a bike and discovering Melbourne as a local, The Humble Vintage is just around the corner. Sports enthusiasts can easily access the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Melbourne Tennis Centre and Etihad Stadium on public transport. Other Things to NoteIf you have any questions, feel free to ask. Let me know if you'd like an early check in or late check out as it may be possible.

GERTRUDE STREET FITZROY - with its multitude of cafes, bars, pubs, boutiques, restaurants & art galleries you never need to leave Fitzroy! But if you decide to, the city is a short, pretty stroll away or just jump on a tram at the end of our road and you're there in no time. Carlton is just on the other side of one park, Richmond on the other side of another so you can walk to the MCG, Rod Laver Arena, etc. Hi there, I have 2 rooms available - this listing is for our room on the ground floor of our large 3 level home just off the wonderful Gertrude Street. This is a great find for guests in Melbourne for a short time who want to live like a local. Or for those lucky folk who are moving to Melbourne, what a great landing pad to stay at while you look for something permanent. Nestled in between famous Brunswick and Smith Streets, this is a fantastic, diverse area full of great cafes, restaurants, wonderful local pubs, art galleries, parks, live music venues and the Melbourne Museum. The #86 and #112 trams are just at the end of the road. All just minutes walk away are: CAFES - De Clieu, Arcadia, Sonido, Birdman, Enoteca, the lovely Rosamond, Cavallero etc... PUBS - The Union, The Napier, Workers Club, Builders Arms, The Gertrude, Grace Darling etc... BARS - The Everleigh, Radio, Brown Couch, Southpaw, Sentido Funf, Alia, YahYahs, Collingwood World, Dirty Secrets etc... RESTAURANTS - Anada, Ladro, Charcoal Lane, Cutler & Co, Gigi Baba, Wabi Sabi, Goshen, Easy Tiger, Yim Yam, Wood Spoon etc... VINTAGE STORES - Industria, Curve, Circa, Moustache, Lost & Found Market, 84 Smith Street, Smith Street Bazaar, Vintage Garage, Nook, Used, Sixes & Sevens etc... BOUTIQUES - Obus, Edgely, Assin, Left, ESS, NomD, Vixen, Signet Beaureau, Melissa Jackson etc... GALLERIES - 200 Gertrude, Dianne Tanzer, Seventh, Australian Galleries, Print Workshop, Charles Smith Galleries etc... SPECIALTY STORES: Aesop, Crumpler Bags, Dr Follicles, Title Books & Records, The Searcher, Northside Records, Books for Cooks, Spacecraft Design, Shop Sui, Rose Chong Costumes, Little Salon, Barbarella, Mr Lincoln, Robio, Cottage Industry, Metal Couture, Tattoo Magic etc... the list goes on ... and on....! The house has all the mod cons mixed in with vintage collectables. And rare in Melbourne in that it is very light and bright. Guests are welcome to help themselves to the kitchen on Level 2 which has organic breads & muffins from our local Fatto A Mano organic bakery. If you want to cook there are organic oils & herbs etc to get you started and plenty of cupboard & fridge space. Breakfast - again, help yourself to the juices, breads & spreads, teas ... the coffee on our doorstep is too good to justify keeping coffee in the house! The newspaper is delivered every morning. Your room has a new super comfy queen bed, a desk (wifi is throughout the house) and telly (help yourself to the dvds upstairs). You have your own private toilet and you & I share the bathroom down the hallway (the room on Level 3 has it's own bathroom) as my rooms are also on the ground floor. There is 'Organic Care' shampoo/conditioner/body in the bathrooms. The set up is very independent but I'm always contactable if you need anything. It would be great to have a drink together at our fantastic local pub The Union (I'm probably already there!) but sometimes we might rarely cross paths as I am out a lot. FROM THE AIRPORT - I recommend "StarBus Airport Shuttle" - door to door service from 5am till 10pm. Cut and paste StarBus Airport Shuttle into your search engine for more info. Or a taxi for approx $55 is the fastest. Needless to say, we love it here, you will too! Cheers, Ramona. Smoking: strictly outside-outside only please :)

The SpaceAn 1860 Terrace, Chunky House has been sympathetically renovated to retain it's period charm. Fitted with modern bathrooms, a country style kitchen, separate living and dining rooms, this is a property that will meet the expectations of people looking for an upmarket experience of Melbourne in a friendly 'at home' environment. This room is fitted with two single beds and cupboard storage. (Please see other listings under Fitzroy Terrace for extra accommodation) There are two bathrooms, one private and one to share should both rooms be occupied. The kitchen is fully available to share with me, however with so many great cafes around you'll probably decide to go out for most meals. I provide the tea and coffee basics and we talk about the rest if that's ok with you. One car parking permit is also available on a 'first in best dressed' basis. ($50 refundable deposit applies) Fitzroy is Melbourne’s equivalent of Soho in London and New York, the Left Bank in Paris or Greenwich Village. Here you will find a profusion of restaurants of every nationality, wine bars, clubs and venues famous for music from all over the world. Public transport via tram is about a minutes walk out the front door and it's pretty easy to get anywhere you'd like without making too many route changes. I'll have some public transport maps for your reference and lots of advice. Walking is a great option with the CBD being a mere 15 minute brisk walk away

This 2 story townhouse has been newly and extensively renovated with all the trimmings. You can enter this completely safe and secure space through the large wrought iron door or through remote control access via your private garage which provides direct access in the entrance of the property. On entering, you will see a stair case to the upper floor where you will be struck by the ceiling height, exposed beams and timber floorboards. On the bottom floor, you will walk past the fully equipped European laundry (dryer in the garage) and straight into the massive bottom bedroom with 2 king single beds and built-in wardrobes. You will be stunned by the beautiful downstairs bathroom with ceiling-hung shower rose and industrial vanity, fully stocked with toiletries for your stay. But upstairs is where the action happens. Second bedroom with built-ins and queensize bed (wait until you feel how comfortable all of the beds are!). You will find a beautiful kitchen with everything you need to stay in (dishwasher, oven, pots, pans, cutlery and crockery)... but why would do you do that with the best restaurants, pubs and cafes on your doorstep! Swing the wall mounted TV to watch a game of cricket on the balcony or to the living room where you can relax in air-conditioned comfort.
