The SpaceThis church was built in 1902 (First Church of Science) and has all the original stained glass windows, hardwood floors, high ceilings with hanging lights. (Fans were added later!) Wood burning stove in center for added ambiance. It is now a beautiful living area with a kitchen and a bathroom with newly tiled shower. Stackable washer and dryer. Upstairs (originally the choir area) is the master bedroom. The downstairs is openly divided into four areas: a formal living area, formal dining area (banquet table), TV area with trendle bed and extra bedroom. We have beautiful dishes and glassware for entertaining a special event. We will have whatever your needs may be ready for you: flowers, wine, food to prepare by you or catered. If you want a massage, just ask, we can accomodate that, too! Call for any questions or requests. Let me know if you want to bring a pet. Florence is the antique capitol of Colorado and this lovely home is walking distance to the shops (close to 40 antique shops, art galleries, western shops). WIFI available. Food will be supplied per your request, special diets, too. Let us know what you need. If you want flowers, wine, etc. let us know that, too. Think of it as a great honeymoon place or special surprise for your spouse. Victorian weddings can be arranged for small parties. The walls are graced with portraits (murals) done by the owner (artist Barry Brierley). It is furnished with the charm of Victorian furniture. Florence is in the SE part of Colorado and is near the Royal Gorge, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Westcliff. (Great day trips! And you can fly into Colorado Springs, 40 minutes away!) Other Things to NoteFlorence is a great place to live and visit. Direct TV and VHS tapes... lots of them. No air conditioning because of the stained glass window, but have portable evaporative coolers and fans. Also it cools down at night and with doors open it keeps house cool. Wood burning stove and gas heat in winter. And wake up to sun streaming in creating beautiful colors from stained glass windows!

The SpaceOur rustic log cabin, nestled into a hillside at 8100 feet elevation, looks out across a valley at the spectacular 14,000-foot Sangre de Cristo mountain range, in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Located 30 minutes on mountain roads from Canon City. Kicking back on the front deck, you have a panoramic view of mountains on three sides. And, sitting on a private 11-acre wooded lot, you have peace, quiet and seclusion – your nearest neighbor is 400 yards away. The cozy great-room/kitchen area is the perfect place for family fun – a gas fireplace, comfy sofas around a game table, and a fully equipped kitchen. The three bedrooms sleep six comfortably, with space for 2 more if you use the sofa for 1 and 1 pull out cot, and sleeping bags in the rooms. Just a few minutes away from the San Isabel national forest, you have access to Buffalo Peaks, Collegiate Peaks, Mount Massive, Sangre de Christo and Spanish peaks wilderness areas. Fantastic white-water rafting and tubing ( we have 4 tubes at our cabin), or exciting fly-fishing await you on the Arkansas River, a 30-minute drive from the cabin. You can mountain bike right out the front door, cycling a few minutes down the road, or explore a fire road up the Wet Mountains for hours. If you are more of an ATV fan, this area of Colorado is loaded with some of the best trails with the most amazing views. Or, if you just want to sit in peace and quiet and enjoy a breath-taking view, this simple cabin is for you. (There is no cell phone coverage here.) Come and find your balance, re-charge your batteries, inspire your senses and sleep peacefully in this warm and sturdy cabin. Pets are welcome! Guest Accesstubes are available , but it may vary as to how many. depending on the earlier guest and how they used them and if they replaced any broken ones. Interaction with GuestsWe have a property Manage who lives near our Cabin at the end of the road, but he is only available during the evenings or weekends. We are not available to be contacted. The NeighborhoodYou will see dear and especially in the early mornings if you get up. Also climb to the top of the hill behind our house and you will see the most spectacular view ever of the mountains. Getting AroundBest to have an all wheel drive car or truck, In the summer front wheel is fine. The roads are steep in places and we don't want our guests to be surprised at the mountain roads. If traveling at night, please drive slowly and safely up the grade. Thank you! Other Things to NoteThis Cabin is not a fancy place. But we have recently renovated the bath , painted the hall, titled two floors.

The SpaceEnjoy our fully equipped kitchen. Pots, pans, dishes, utensils, blender, 12 cup coffeemaker(coffee and sugar), grind your coffee beans in a antique grinder. microwave, Iron. Fan. Extra blankets, Kitchen and bath towels provided. One queen size bed. We are in the country so you may encounter insects. On a septic system please flush no more waste than necessary. Guest AccessConvenient parking, next to your door or a few steps away in shaded area. You may walk the property, a lovely vineyard, and gardens. We live in a safe neighborhood, so feel free to take long walks. Private, covered patio and upstairs deck for viewing millions of stars. The Well Hot Springs(clothing optional) 15 min. Three country restaurants and a nice coffee shop near by. A small grocery store(1 mile). For a larger selection you may want to shop in the city on the way. Getting AroundJust less than a 2 hour drive from Denver International, Under a 1 hour drive from Colorado Springs Airport. Will need your own transportation. Other Things to NoteWe do not provide cable or satellite you may stream with your own electronic devices. Netflix and you tube provided on 32" TV with remote. TV is on swivel wall mount to view from living space or bedroom area. We do NOT accept dogs.

The SpaceBeautiful Location. My husband and I live on the premises as well as my mother and one Australian Shepherd and several cats The animals are friendly but the dog is afraid of children and can be aggressive which is why we say no children. The pool is very warm and a great treat on a hot day. Guest Access5th wheel, pool, laundry in our home, The trailer has a 5 gallon hot water heater which is fine for a guy or a quick shower but the Guest Bathroom in our home is available for your private use for long hot showers. Salida, Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Westcliffe are about an hour away. The Royal Gorge is about 45 min from our place to the gate. The new Amphitheater is great. The new Dinosaur Museum is a must see. We have a nice outside fire stove and horshoes pit. We welcome guests and are open to special requests Interaction with GuestsSomeone is almost always on the premises but well let you know if we'll be unavailable. The NeighborhoodAt the end of our road is a wilderness study area. A state wilderness stamp is required. There is a beautiful creek and hiking trails. We are close to the Royal Gorge with its new amphitheater (great concert), and a new Dinosaur Museum with interactive dinosaurs. We know the area geology and history. There is so much to see and do in the area. Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Salida and Westcliff. You will often see wildlife! Getting AroundWe are 5 1/2 miles from Hwy 50 and 10 miles from Penrose. Florence and Canon City. We have area maps and menus and brochures from local attractions. Other Things to NoteWe are up 4 miles of dirt road that is county maintained. The road is slick when wet.
