The NeighborhoodThe best of Forest Hills; Very good neighborhood, everything you need at your fingertips.
Forest Hills contains a particularly diverse mixture of upscale housing, ranging from single-family houses, attached townhouses, and both low-rise and high-rise apartment buildings. South of the Long Island Rail Road, the Forest Hills Gardens area is a private community that features some of the most expensive residential properties in Queens County.
The main thoroughfare is Queens Boulevard, which is very wide. Metropolitan Avenue is known for its antique shops. Forest Hills is easily accessible by subway, rail, bus and car. The commercial heart of Forest Hills is a mile-long stretch of Austin Street between Yellowstone Boulevard and Ascan Avenue.
The area is fantastic offering many shops, restaurants, bars, lounges, parks, public transportation, post office, business centers, movie theaters and much much more.
Forest Park is 3-5 blocks away where you can bike ride, jog or go walk the trail.
Everything is within a few blocks walking distance in any direction. Yet the apartment is quite, private and very comfortable. The surrounding are is both beautiful and very safe. Getting AroundForest Hills has the multiple-service Forest Hills–71st Avenue subway station (E F M R trains) at the intersection of Continental Avenue and Queens Boulevard. The local 75th Avenue stop (E F trains) is also in the area, and some entrance/exits of the express Kew Gardens – Union Turnpike station (E F trains) service the southeastern portion of Forest Hills. The neighborhood also has two commuter train stations, the Forest Hills and Kew Gardens railway stations of the Long Island Rail Road. Several MTA Bus-branded buses, including the Q23, Q60, and Q64 local buses and QM4, QM11, QM12, and QM18, serve the area.
You are a $14-$18 Cab ride from La Guardia Airport and $18-$23 Cab ride from JFK Intl Airport. There are shuttles and buses that can get you here as well.
Cabs are by abundance as well and there is a cab stand a few blocks away by the Movies Theater.
Parking is very ample in our area. Other Things to NoteEach guest receives the basic amenities with plenty of little things to help make your trip more enjoyable. Please note that the apartment is housed in a historic building amongst the bustle of Austin Street, and is close to both LIRR and MTA (not ideal for light sleepers). Thanks again for choosing my place!
