The SpaceWe offer a in=law studio/apt with a bedroom area furnished with queen sized bed and a separate sitting area with dinning table, electric fireplace and T.V. There is a private bathroom as well. There is very limited cooking available There is a small refrigerator for your use. The space has a patio door with a small sun filled patio area. Our property borders thousands of acres of open space and is close to hiking trails, a golf course, and the town of Fairfax, known for it's many music venues. We are located in beautiful San Geronimo Valley, West Marin California. and we are near the famous Spirit Rock Meditation Center and a relatively short drive to Pt.Reyes National Seashore. Golf Lovers, will appreciate being close to the beautiful San Geronimo Golf Club. You may take short walks on our property near the creek and next to open space trails. Since we want to provide a peaceful natural environment we just ask that you respect the environment which is especially dedicated to restoring salmon runs. We also have a music studio that is available for free musical practice session with prior arrangements and separate fee for recording. This studio is the recording home of a unique reggae band. We would be happy to show you the studio with surrounding park like area. If you are a musician ask Jay if it is o.k to practice in the studio. There is also a large outside area adjoining the music studio suitable for events with an outside stage. The area can be used with prior arrangements made with Jay. We also have a swimming pool(not heated), vegetable garden and large picnic area. The unheated swimming pool is available for use by our guests and the weather during the summer is perfect for a relaxing and cool swim. This is an informal, rustic, working ranch type atmosphere with opportunities to socialize in adjoining common areas and the option to enjoy the surroundings in private moments. It is a comfortable, unpretentious place offering friendly hosts, and a nurturing, relaxed and homey space. Some say the entire property reminds them of the best of the 70's with lots of nooks, nature, friendly people, and music. Be sure to bring sweaters since the weather is cool is the mornings and evenings since we have the cool breezes from the coast. Summer can be quite warm during the day. During winter, bring rain gear. During your stay, you may meander along the creek, hike in the adjacent open space, walk a few blocks to a neighborhood tavern, or just relax by the pool. If you are a musician this is a place that motivates the musical soul. If you are a nature lover this is a place that creates a sense of well being. The country like neighborhood is charming. A park, country farm store and country tavern are just blocks away. There is public transit to all the surrounding areas as well as to San Francisco two blocks from the house. Jay was an owner of a Soul Food Restaurant and Jazz Club in Southern California. Also, if he happens to be fixing his famous dishes on the barbecue you are welcome to join in and give us a review of his dishes. All in all, your stay will be unique and restful, especially if you appreciate the natural things in life: interesting and generous people, the most beautiful surroundings in the state, nature and Caribbean(Reggae) Music and Reggae philosophy(One Love). Guest AccessGuests will have access to the pool, pool area, areas adjacent to open space and trails leading from property. Access to music studio with prior practice arrangement and additional fee for recording. Interaction with GuestsGuests will have a choice on how much interaction they like. We are friendly and respect guests desire for rest and relaxation. Occasionally we have friends drop by for barbecue in an adjacent area. We are available for requests, hiking tips, and happy to show guests around property. The NeighborhoodOur property is unique in that it is down a private country lane and within a short driving distance of a small town with a grocery store, tavern, and small park nearby. The tavern is a treat because of its history, friendly people and music events. We are also a short driving distance to a large and beautiful golf course as well as the famous spiritual retreat area of Spirit Rock. There is also a wonderful cultural center with performances within a short walking distance as well as a fantastic Indian Restaurant. All these sites are situated close to a state park so you are surrounded by the forest and creeks. Getting AroundThere is a shuttle bus two blocks away to the coast and to Fairfax. A commute bus to San Francisco is also two blocks from the property. The guests are provided one covered parking space adjacent to the "big house". From the airport guest would need to drive or take the Airporter bus to San Rafael and then the shuttle bus. We also strongly advise guests to arrive before dark since we are in a county like neighborhood with limited street lights. (our property is well lit however we want guests to be stress free when arriving for the first time. Other Things to NoteThis is a casual friendly environment. We are happy to assist with recommendations and welcome communications regarding any special needs and or requests. Please note: This is a space on larger shared community type atmosphere. In the summer we may have day guests and outdoor barbecues. Guests as welcome to join in the social festivities. The space is in a residential neighborhood. We ask that guests drive slowly and watch out for the deer and neighborhood pets and children especially at night. We do not recommend arrival after dark since there are no street lights. Guests may drop off luggage before going to Pt.Reyes and then come back later in evening.

The SpaceA light-filled cottage-style house is set atop wooded hillside bordering Marin Open Space preserve. There are large-pane windows, high-beamed ceiling in main room which gets flooded with light throughout afternoon and early evening. Wood-burning stove in main room. There are two sleeping areas: lower level with sleeping nook: new bamboo flooring with queen size bed with natural mattress and topper on simple wood frame. Child's room on main level with twin loft bed (organic latex mattress). Floor has wood and Flor wood felt tile carpets. Front porch and back deck for dining on warm evenings. Home was built in the 30's and has been recently remodeled, but retains quirky and rustic elements. (Ie. there is no Viking stove and the wood floors are older and well worn) -however, there is a claw foot tub in bathroom, a nice size and comfortable L-shape (natural fiber) couch in main room, and a fully stocked kitchen with healthy cooking materials (cast iron skillets and oj press, wok, etc) Skylights in decent-sized kitchen. In the main room, the windows are very large and single-paned ( this was built as a vacation house) so can get chilly on cool nights. There is a freestanding radiant heater and wood stove keeps things toasty if you keep it burning. ( with Eco-friendly log) The trek to the house is up a path with about 70 steps (although there are flat stretches) however, should be in shape (without heart issues) to do these. Once you reach the door, your view is private and set in the treetops-birds and stars in the evening. (we have a telescope for star gazers) The aesthetic of this house: asian influences with lots of textures/natural/rustic elements mixed in. There is a wool Flokati rug in the main room, flor multi-colored carpet squares in the child's room and the rest of the home has hardwood/tile. Corona avenue is just up the hill from the Lagunitas creek, just off of sir Francis Drake blvd. House is walking distance to Arti's organic Indian and Lagunitas general store. Biking distance (1.5 miles) from Samuel p Taylor Park and cross Marin biking trail. Approx. 6 miles to Point Reyes. Perfect location to visit Olema, Nicasio, Bolinas, Roy's Redwoods, Tomales Bay and all of Wesr Marin. Local and organic dining in Point Reyes Station,, Olema, Fairfax, Forest Knolls, Inverness... We are about 40 minutes from SF In summer there is plenty of fresh food and produce available: you have the Pt. Reyes farmer's market on Saturday mornings, and Wednesday is the charming evening farmer's market in downtown Fairfax. Close by local organic shopping at Good Earth Market and Cowgirl creamery for artisan meats/cheese Guest AccessThe entire cottage, front private porch and back deck. The NeighborhoodWoodsy, hillside neighborhood bordering open space preserve, with Lagunitas Creek just below. We generally see more animals than neighbors... Other Things to NoteThe road leading to the house is windy and narrow, and as you make the climb, one should be on the lookout for animals (deer especially are all around). We have a small black cat that came from the hillside a number of months ago. We have named her "Cassie" and adore her. She has a feeder in the kitchen, but is generally out on the land all day, and we ask that she be allowed in at night (if she likes). She is very cuddly and guests tend to love her.

The SpaceI like the convivial aspect of this service and want to have some interaction with my guests. Sharing a home cooked meal would not be out of the ordinary For this reason I am not inclined to take "spur of the moment" requests For example a recent request at 9pm for a couple to "get out of town for the evening" had to be declined Guest AccessBed Kitchen Yard Hiking trails Piano Lots of books Stereo and music collection Wi-fi Interaction with GuestsMy incentive for participating in AirBnB is not to rent space in my home to scoop up $58, rather it is to open up my home to travelers for the sake of meeting them and sharing time on our life journeys. If you just want a place to crash, this isn't it The NeighborhoodLots of hiking trails available Getting AroundThere are busses throughout the day but end after 8pm A cab ride into/out of town is $20 That being said; this area is known for bicycling

The SpaceOur cozy craftsman is set up on the hill at the end of a dead end street in San Geronimo, CA. Our 1.5 acre property borders Marin open space. You can literally go for a hike right out our door. The deer and other wildlife come down to drink in our creek and can regularly be seen in our yard. Our home is a relaxing and peaceful place to call home as you explore the bay area. Guest AccessAt our house, our guests have access to fresh fruit and vegetables from our garden (when they are in season), a hiking trail up on the hillside behind our home, the basketball hoop out in the driveway, every board game imaginable and a wonderful rope swing on our big old oak tree. Interaction with GuestsMost often we do all interactions virtually. The NeighborhoodWe love our neighborhood! There are so many things to see and do in the area. Do you like hiking, going to the beach, exploring cute towns, horse back riding, cycling, golfing, meditation, or exploring San Francisco? Some of these activities you can do just out our door, others are a short drive. West Marin is one of the best kept secrets of the Bay Area...shhhh....don't tell anyone! So, tell me more you say... Would you like to walk among the majestic redwood trees? You don't have to head to the touristy (but still fun) Muir Woods. For an unspoiled, local look at redwoods you could head to Roy's Redwoods, about 3-4 minutes drive away. For a longer walk and exploration of the local redwoods, head 5 minutes down the road to Samuel P Taylor National park where you can have a picnic in the redwoods, hike a few trails or bike along the paths. If you love the beach and coastal areas you could take the picturesque 20 minute drive to Limantour Beach or head to Point Reyes Station (also 20 minutes) where there are delicious restaurants and a quaint coastal town to explore. If it is a farm to table meal you are after, head to Olema to Sir and Star located in the old historic Olema Inn. Maybe you are in the area to attend a retreat at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Our home is the perfect peaceful retreat and only 5 minutes from Spirit Rock. Rather play golf? Well, head to San Geronimo Golf Course, just a 2 minute drive away. There are also several ranches in the immediate area for horse back riding if that takes your fancy. I recommend heading to Fairfax for a hippy town experience, just 10 minutes away. There you will find a movie theater with real buttered popcorn, the Marin Museum of Bicycling and Mountain Bike Hall of Fame and the best organic ice-cream on the planet at Fairfax Scoop. Still looking for more ideas? There are an endless number of day trips you could take - Sonoma, Muir Woods, Sausalito and of course, San Francisco. Our favorite way to travel there is to drive to the ferry in Larkspur Landing (30 minute drive) and take the ferry to the San Francisco Ferry Building. From there you can explore Market Street or hop on a trolly to your final city destination. The possibilities are endless! Getting AroundAlthough we are in a more rural area of Marin County (read spacious and peaceful), there is public transportation available within 5 minute's walking distance on Sir Francis Drake across from the Community Center in San Geronimo. The West Marin Stage Coach runs from the San Rafael Transit Center all the way to Inverness, making popular stops in Fairfax , Samuel P Taylor National Park (for camping, hiking and biking), and downtown Point Reyes Station (a beautiful and charming small coastal town where the Bovine Bakery and Cowgirl Creamery are located). Of course, if you are a biking enthusiast, join the packs of cyclists that head out to Point Reyes for a scenic ride by just turning right out of our street onto Sir Francis Drake Rd. Other Things to NoteWe offer a 20% discount for stays longer than 2 weeks. Our beautiful Burmese cat, Jyoti, lives at the house and will need to be taken care of while you are staying at our house. She is fed twice a day but can accommodate dry food and water being left for her if you plan on being away for up to a whole day. Please keep the deer gate closed to the back yard if you go through. The deer love to eat our front garden!

The SpaceThis house is small on the outside but amazingly spacious on the inside! It is a perfect place to unwind after traveling, a day in the city, or a strenuous hiking or biking outing. The living space has a comfortable queen size bed, leather sofa and cable tv. The second sleeping option is a queen size 18 inch deep air mattress which can be used in the same room, or even on the covered, private back deck, (for those who like a little extra fresh air). While the sofa does fold out into a queen size hide-a-bed, we find that the air mattress is IMMENSELY more comfortable. (Don't forget that the "air mattress" was the inspiration for the name Airbnb). There is a separate, fully appointed kitchen with four burner range, standard size oven, full-size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and plenty of counterspace. You will find all of the cookware and placesettings needed to prepare a fine meal for four. Eat at the kitchen table or just outside on the back deck. The bathroom is small but has all the essentials including a tub and shower. We supply shampoo, conditioner and soap etc. The water heater stores enough hot water for two showers, provided they aren't too long. For a third or fourth shower you will have to wait 20 to 30 minutes. But hey, this is California! We shouldn't be taking long showers anyway. Drought is the new normal. Please conserve water. Guest AccessYou can park on the street or along side the house. Gate opens out and it's narrow but it will accommodate any car, (or 2). You will have full use of the house and any appliances on the premises. Please feel free to use any food or condiments left in the refrigerator or cabinets. The front door is equipped with an electronic, keyless entry lock. You will receive your own personal entry code shortly after booking. Interaction with GuestsWe (Your Hosts), are not on the premises, but we are always reachable by text, email or phone should you have any questions or need anything during your stay. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is a non-pretentious alternative to the cookie-cutter tract homes of suburbia. Very close to "civilization" but decidedly rural, it is set in the forested, coastal hills of West Marin. There are several trail heads steps away from the house, and at night the neighborhood roads make for an enchanted starlit stroll. On your way in from the main road you will notice the Paper Mill Saloon. That is our local watering hole. It's an easy walk from the house. Also within walking distance is a local fruit and vegetable stand which also serves fresh coffee. The San Geronimo Golf Course is about a mile east off of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. this is definitely Marin County's premier golf course. They also have a restaurant and bar with live jazz on some nights. There are also lots of shops, restaurants, clubs and live music in fairfax just a few minutes to the east. Getting AroundAlthough we are close to town, this is still a rural area and as such, a car, motorcycle or bike are the best forms of travel. There is a bus service, "The West Marin Stagecoach", which operates in the area and can connect you with other West Marin communities as well as Fairfax and San Anselmo where you can access Golden Gate Transit for service to San Francisco. Check internet for maps and schedules: Other Things to NoteThe neighborhood roads are narrow so please drive slow.

The SpaceOur home sits on five acres, of mixed forest. During the winter months and after the rain we have beautiful waterfalls in our seasonal creek. We enjoy wildlife in and around our home; foxes, deer, coyotes, red tail Hawks, and a multitude of wild birds that enjoy the feeders located around the deck. Our house is a hillside home therefore there are stairs up to the house that afford us great views. Winter notice, please use caution on our redwood stairs and decks!! They become slippery after the rain. Guest AccessOur guests have access to the main floor of our home , there is a spinet piano available for those who play although I don't have sheet music it will have to be from memory. The beautiful outdoor deck areas are enjoyable during the warmer season there are cushioned bench seats for lounging and hanging out is encouraged. There is a wood-burning fireplace and if guests wish to buy coffee logs or something like that they may make a fire. Interaction with GuestsI usually try to greet and welcome all of my guests, if at all possible, if not there will be someone else to greet you and give you the key. We have no agenda re interaction with our guests mostly I like to give a personal "local favorite spots" depending on what their trip/visits will consist of. Our house has an eclectic flow. And respect our guests appreciation for privacy. On occasion sharing wine together if the timing is right. Has happened and there are occasions when I'm away for the weekend. The NeighborhoodWe enjoy the nature and wildlife that surrounds our home privacy and tranquil setting. Getting AroundThis is a rural setting. To really enjoy yourself you really need a car, public transportation is very limited. Uber may be available but may be pricey! Taxis are available but again will be pricey! Other Things to NoteI work outside of my home m-F and one of two persons could be welcoming you Jordan my son or Phoenix daughter pictured with in my profile. If neither are available to give the key I will send personal instructions and your adventure begins.

This quiet and secluded sun-filled cabin, the former home of German actor Klaus Kinski, is set at the end of a dirt road high on a ridgetop between the San Geronimo Valley and Nicasio. Nestled in a grove of towering redwood and Douglas fir trees, bordering Samuel P. Taylor State Park, and a half-mile from the closest house, it offers breathtaking views of Mount Tamalpais and San Geronimo Ridge to the south and Bolinas Ridge to the west. The cabin boasts a wood stove set in a large stone fireplace for relaxing evenings and romance. A queen bed is at the top of a spiral staircase in a loft overlooking the living area. Hiking and mountain biking trails leave right from the front door. Its location between Central Marin and the Point Reyes National Seashore makes it easy to take advantage of all that Marin County has to offer while affording guests unparalleled privacy. There is a long, bumpy dirt road to the cabin that currently requires 4WD or AWD. Keywords: Cabin
