The SpaceOur fully-furnished cabin in the woods is beautifully furnished and equipped for all your vacation getaway needs! There is a king-sized bed in the bedroom, a queen & twin sized air mattress and a twin trundle bed. Also available: Refrigerator with ice maker, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, outside grill, outside fire pit with picnic tables, and 1 acre fishing pond with child fishing poles. There are endless animals to visit and the ducks will come running if they think you have bread! Outside of the cabin there is a porch swing and picnic tables (additional outside folding chairs are located inside the master bedroom closet!) Paddle boat possible - please inquire ahead of time if you wish to use it. Life jackets provided. Guest AccessGuests are fairly secluded from neighbors. Horseback riding is just steps away from the cabin. Located on the same property lives 2 resident cowboys who can get you riding in no time. CHU Stables offers traditional fun and easy rides for people of all ages for a VERY reasonable price of $35 per 45 minute lesson. Lessons should be arranged at or before arrival. ICCA Training facility offers weekend or daily sessions, demonstrations or information on their non-profit program helping people ages 7+ find harmony and balance through working with one of the specially trained horses. Led by renowned Hawaiian horse trainer, Harry Nakoa (Look him up!) If you are interested in a holistic approach to health and well-being, this is not to be missed! Literally right outside the cabin door is a 1 acre, stocked fishing pond. Catfish, crappy, small and large mouth bass! Children fishing poles and tackle are available in the cabin but we recommend bringing your own if you are an avid fisherman! Fishing is catch & release unless permission given. We have a playground on the property for children who would like to swing, slide or play in a big sand box! Located just a few minutes walk from the cabin, the playground is part of a school and may be used in the evenings and weekends. Interaction with GuestsWe can communicate as much or as little as you like. I live in Dallas but we have people on property who can help at a moments notice. After payment confirmation you will receive an email with access instructions, directions and a full list of included amenities. The NeighborhoodYou are completely secluded away from the city. There are a few local restaurants around, and 3 within walking distance if you're up for a hike! It is very quiet and peaceful except for the occasional horse gallop, rooster crow, sheep bleat or donkey call! Lake Tawakoni is just a few minutes away by car where you can hike, fish, boat and bird watch! The closest grocery store is about 10 minutes away by car (Walmart & Brookshires). Getting AroundYou will need your own vehicle when visiting. There is no public transportation in the area. Other Things to NoteFishing is generally catch & release unless permission is given. There are no leash laws here, so be aware that you WILL be visited by friendly neighbor dogs! When there is a fire-ban, no fires in the pits allowed.

The Space**If there is anything you need please don't hesitate to ask! Call, text, email, message & let us know how we can make sure you give us 5 stars! Remember, you are rating the room, not the entire house.** The Sorensen's can't wait to share their 3200 square-foot house with several extra bedrooms!! The house is a humble, log home built by Tish's late husband, Gary Sorensen, with his own 2 hands in the 1980's. Although it is not so modern on the inside, we have all comforts you need for a pleasant stay. All areas except private rooms are common. You can watch TV, cook in the kitchen, hang out with the goats, chickens, guinea hens, dogs, & cats! YES, we have lightning fast wifi!!! Gary Sorensen, (RIP 7-24-14) built this house with his own two hands starting in 1985. He had done so many repair jobs, he decided he could build his own house himself! He did an amazing job! However, some things have that "home made" look & the house isn't as modern as other homes. However, this does not affect safety or functionality of the home. Just be aware that it's a country farm house & has its own charm that way instead of being cosmetically perfect. You will be sharing the house with Tish & Valerie, 3 dogs, & a cat. We occasionally have other long term renters here as well. The "Big Tex Room" is the largest master suite with its own bathroom. ***This listing is primarily for the master suite, which we call the "Big Tex Room. It has a hospital bed & it's own bathroom.*** Although this is called Air B&B, we do not cook your breakfast. Sonic is only one mile north on Highway 205 at the intersection of Highway 550 inside the Shell gas station. We have 2 great dane dogs and one mixed breed rescue. They are all female, fixed & friendly. They bark at normal dog stimulants - door knocks, mail man, school bus kids walking down street, etc. Their names are Sydney (blue great dane - 14 years old), Tyler (black & white great dane - 10 yrs old), and Sugarbear (white mix - 6 years old). They get along well with others as long as the guest animals can fit into their pack dynamic. If you do have a pet, it would be helpful to bring your own crate, or keep them in your room unless they are going out to go potty. We don't have a leash law out here, so that will be fun for your dogs to run. Just make sure they don't run away! Guest room doors do not lock. However, we will not disturb you when in your room with the door closed. We also have 1 cat, Cassidy. If you will be arriving late, please let us know & we will give you the access code for the key in the lock box. Otherwise, as soon as I receive notification of your booking, I will message you requesting info on your ETA. Or you can message me first Can't wait to meet u! See u soon!! ~Tish & Valerie Guest AccessYou will have a fireplace, kitchen, washer dryer, iron, super fast wifi, peace & quiet!! PLEASE ASK FOR WHATEVER AMENITIES YOU ARE INTERESTED IN USING. The wifi info should pop up after your reservation is confirmed. Most of the time we just leave the front doors unlocked. So you won't need to be concerned about getting locked out. Interaction with Guests**If there is anything you need please don't hesitate to ask! Call, text, email, message Valerie & let us know how we can make sure you give us 5 stars! Remember, you are rating the room, not the entire house.** Let us know if you prefer to be quiet or to be social. We are very friendly & love to meet people from all over the world, but if you prefer your solitude, we will honor that as well. Valerie is Realtor & an uber/Lyft driver & is gone most evenings. Tish has many activities during the day, but is home most evenings. Maybe we can all go to Southern Junction if you're here a Wed-Sat! Live music nightly & 2for1steaks Wed! The NeighborhoodIn the country, we wave at neighbors passing each other on the small dirt roads full of potholes. You can walk around the entire neighborhood block in the middle of the night & be perfectly safe. You can see all the stars at night & hear coyotes. Getting AroundWe are really too far out for any public transportation but Valerie drives for Lyft and Uber & is available to do private rides. Other Things to NoteThe road leading up to our house has many potholes. The county doesn't claim the road, and neither does the city. So most likely it will never be fixed. Just drive super slowly as to not damage your car. Also, the farm animals make noises early in the morning. **If there is anything you need please don't hesitate to ask! Call, text, email, message Valerie & let us know how we can make sure you give us 5 stars! Remember, you are rating the room, not the entire house.**

The SpaceThe Birdhouse is the most unique living environment ever. From the outside, it appears to be a nondescript metal building, warehouse style. Inside, Fun and Comfort rule. 1 1/2 bathrooms and one bedroom downstairs, 1 full bath and two bedrooms upstairs. Living room with big screen TV and a small but highly functional kitchen complete the downstairs area, along with large storage space for the resident Cessna 182 and/or a friend's Citabria. It should be noted this residence is roomy but not ADA compliant. The downstairs bath has a lovely jacuzzi tub with a shower, but not a "walk in" style shower downstairs. As with most homes surrounded by acreage, sometimes Mother Nature's critters like to try to take up residence inside. One of these days I hope to be able to get all the nooks and crannies sealed up to keep them at bay, but until I figure out how to do that, I'm happy to come over and relocate any uninvited seasonal guests as they appear. Guest AccessGuests will have access to all of the space listed above--bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining areas, plus the gorgeous gazebo and beautiful view outside. Interaction with GuestsThere are two hangars on the property. Guests have access to the more formally finished and furnished hangar, I will be in the other hangar living space, close enough to be of assistance, but far enough away that guests have all the privacy they would like. The NeighborhoodI've lived on the same road since 1984, and there's been very little change in the neighborhood since then. The houses are somewhat farther apart than "city" living, but the neighbors are close and very supportive of each other, also unlike my experience with "city" living. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the grocery store, but we do have fairly easy access to "city" amenities, just ask for it and I can direct you to whatever you need. Getting AroundThis is The Country. No public transit is available. I wouldn't really advise using a bicycle either, because both the rock road, and the nearby busy farm to market road appear somewhat treacherous to two-wheelers. So, private auto it is. If you plan to arrive by general aviation airplane, there are nearby car rental agencies and I can plan to help you obtain a rental. If you arrive by airline, vehicle rentals are available at the larger airports, DFW, and DAL. Other Things to NoteThis is a rural property, 1/2 mile down a rock road. Expect dust on your vehicle, but very little traffic. Airplanes do come and go here, it is a real airport. It is also an agricultural property with coastal bermuda hay being raised and harvested at certain times of year. As mentioned above, seasonal issues with critters sometimes arise at country abodes, but I am always available to relocate/eradicate as necessary. There are also dogs here...sadly, many people believe dumping dogs is a way to rid themselves of responsibility. Over my years out here, I've helped nearly 50 dogs find new loving homes. But I still have several around here that have stuck, and they will greet you when you arrive. Chances are your interactions with most of them, beyond greeting, will be minimal. I also inherited my daughter's cat. She's lived here all her life, but she'll be out in the other hangar with me. At night, if you are outside, expect to hear the sounds of country night life--birds, frogs, crickets, and coyotes, just to name a few.

Interaction with GuestsI will be available if needed. I can stay onsite to host, cook, clean, do laundry, teach classes, etc... for an extra fee, or I will remain offsite. If you are interested in seeing the area, I am always happy to meet new people and would enjoy showing you around. If your stay in a week or longer, you might see me outside a time or two watering the garden. The NeighborhoodI am on the lake. I live close to both a yacht club and a boat ramp. My neighborhood is out of the way, quiet, and peaceful. I have friendly, helpful neighbors who watch out for each other. It is a very safe neighborhood. In town, you will find the Harbor which is located on the lake and is host to many nice restaurants with patio seating. It has a large movie theater, spa-type stores, etc... Getting AroundThere is plenty of parking (large driveway and parking area in front of my garage). I am 20 miles east of Dallas. There is no public transportation available. Other Things to NoteThere is a yacht club a block away with sailboats for rent and a boat ramp a couple of miles away. Once you put your boat in the lake, you can drive it up to the rear of the property.

The NeighborhoodForney is a 20-30 mile drive to the Dallas Zoo & Arboretum, White Rock Lake, Dallas Arts Dist., fairgrounds, Greenville Ave. Highland Park area, Uptown, American Airlines Center, etc... My subdivision is within 2 miles of the movie theater, Kroger Marketplace, and basically 90% of restaurants, groceries, salons, car/gasoline, and hardware stores in Forney..very convenient to all major businesses off Hwy 80 and easy access to 548/Hwy 80. Lots of young families and friendly, working people who take pride in their homes and yard and enjoy a safe, secure environment. HOA and our own policeman help us do this. Forney at one time was a very small rural community. There is still farmland around and an occasional coyote :), but as with most of TX., people are discovering it and housing is booming. Within 1-2 miles of my home is a great little theater which offers new releases for around $6. There are some good restaurants (Oscar Delta, Los Hermanos, Chilis, Cristina's to name a few) and a huge, new Kroger Marketplace within 1-2 miles, as well as Aldis, Walmart, Lowes, Walgreens, and Starbucks. Lots of nice wide walking and biking paths in subdivision with ponds and fountain views, playgrounds, picnic tables/grills available. There are also two lovely swimming pools in the subdivision. From there, it is possible to use free parking, board and get on/off most of the metroplex (even Ft. Worth) by switching to TRE. Dart is very cheap, $5 a day, for full access and avoids having to pay for sometimes $15 parking spots in popular areas. Easy access to I20, Hwy 80, I30, and I635. Recently, some people nearby have become Uber drivers. I was quoted a $15 fee to Love Field. One parking spot in driveway available. Keyless entry...code provided after booking.

The SpaceThere are luxury upgrades throughout the guest house and the house is kept impeccably clean. I wash all linens, towels, and mattress covers in bleach after each stay. Even the bedspread and bathroom floor mat are washed after each visit. I find so much peace in my beautiful yard and I love that guests are able to come and enjoy it's views. There are plenty of spaces to sit around in the backyard and relax. The guest house's full kitchen, laundry room and large walk in shower make extended stays very comfortable. Guest AccessIf you are arriving past 10 pm that is not a problem. Just send us a note and we will direct you where to find the guest house entrance. We can let you know where a hidden key is. There is a page taped on the inside of the front door with directions for the AC and Internet. You are welcome to enjoy our pool and pool bathroom. Trails, private neighborhood playground/park and private lake are at the end of our cul de sac. Interaction with GuestsThe guest house has a separate entrance and its own privacy. We are here if you need anything but definitely let you have your own space. The NeighborhoodWe have a tree lines lot that adds for privacy and makes you feel far out from town. In reality we live in a beautiful neighborhood, not far from several towns Getting AroundOur address is Royse City but we are actually 15 min south of Royse City. We live in a rural neighborhood, conveniently located 15 minutes each from several surrounding towns: Rockwall, Heath, Terrell, Forney and Royse City. We are also 45 minutes from First Monday in Canton and 45 min from downtown Dallas (without traffic). Other Things to NoteWe have a small dog similar to a bichon that stays inside of our main house. We do not have any televisions. We gave up cable awhile back and use Netflix on our tablets. The log info for the wifi is in the guest house. Since we live in the country our wifi is slow. It functions fine for recreational use but can be inadequate if you need to get business done over the Internet in a timely manner. If you would like to add an additional 1-3 bedrooms in the main house let me know and I can send you a link to the listing for these bedrooms . There are three bedrooms upstairs and two full bathrooms. Each room rents for $35/night

Our fully-furnished 1 bdrm cabin nestled among the trees on our private 70 acre ranch is a great place for individuals, couples and small families to get away from the city noise and relax! Enjoy fishing, horseback riding, the outdoor fire-pit, charcoal grill, porch swing and children's playground all on the same property! There is a king-sized bed in the bedroom, and a twin trundle bed in the living area. We also have a twin and queen sized air mattress with air pump if needed. In the bathroom there are 2 sinks, a walk-in shower and a nice garden-sized bathtub! Amenities: Refrigerator with ice maker, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, outside grill, fishing poles & (if in service) paddle-boat. All linens/towels, TV/DVD/CD player, Satelitte Cable. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT OFFER WIFI Two options for horseback riding are available just steps away from the cabin: 1. John Clayton with CHU Stables offers basic riding lessons for a very reasonable price of $35 per 45 minute lesson. Lessons should be arranged upon or before arrival. 2. International Cowboy Cultural Academy (ICCA) is a non-profit who offers therapeutic riding lessons for those looking for a little more "balance" in their lives. Specializing in youth dealing with emotional hurdles and veterans diagnosed with PTSD. Riding instruction comes from well known natural horsemanship trainer Harry Nakoa (Google him!) We also have a stocked fishing pond literally off the cabin's back porch. Catfish, crappie, small and large mouth bass! Child and bamboo fishing poles and a few pieces of tackle are available in the cabin, but if you are an avid fisherman, you will probably want to bring your own equipment! Fishing is catch & release unless agreed with the property manager. We have a playground on the property for children who would like to swing, slide or play in a big sand box! You are completely secluded away from the city. There are a few local restaurants around, and 2 within walking distance if you're up for a trek. It is very quiet and peaceful except for the occasional horse gallop, sheep bleat, rooster crow or donkey call! The closest grocery store is about 10 minutes away by car in Royse City (walmart) or in Quinlan (Walmart & Brookshires). Quinlan and Royse city both have cute little town squares with some local shopping/antiquing. The town of Rockwall is only a 20 minute drive and has every restaurant/retail therapy you could need on your stay! Other Things to Note: Fishing is catch & release only unless permission given. When during a burn-ban, no fires in the pits allowed. Please be respectful to all furnishings, animals and land!

The Space**If there is anything you need please don't hesitate to ask! Call, text, email, message & let us know how we can make sure you give us 5 stars! Remember, you are rating the room, not the entire house.** Tish can't wait to share her 3200 square-foot house with several extra bedrooms!! The house is a humble, log home built by Tish's late husband, Gary Sorensen, with his own 2 hands in the 1980's. Although it is not so modern on the inside, we have all comforts you need for a pleasant stay. All areas except private rooms are common. You can watch TV, cook in the kitchen, hang out with the goats, chickens, donkey, dogs, & cats! Although this is called Air B&B, we do not cook your breakfast. Their names are Sydney (blue great dane - 14 years old), Tyler (black & white great dane - 8 yrs old), and Sugarbear (white mix - 5 years old). ~Tish & Valerie Guest AccessYou're welcome to use the kitchen, the living room, & the porch… You will have a fireplace, kitchen, washer dryer, iron, super fast wifi, peace & quiet!! Call, text, email, message & let us know how we can make sure you give us 5 stars!
