Whitetail Lodge is located on the west side of scenic Glen Lake in a heavily wooded, very secluded and private area. Large windows face Glen Lake giving a spectacular view of the lake and opposite shore. Included in this view are mountains that rise up from the east shore of Glen Lake. These rugged mountains are part of the Rockies and are contained within the Kootenai National Forest with nearby majestic 6,000 to 9,000 foot mountain peaks. Part of your view also includes Therriault Pass. Located at the top of this mountain range, it is a large glacially formed U-shaped pass. Years ago a glacier swept through this pass and down into the valley below where it scoured out the lake bed of Glen Lake. As the glacier receded the waters filled this basin and formed Glen Lake. Glen Lake is a picture perfect mountain lake. It is about 1 mile across and 2 miles long. It warms up nicely in the summer for swimming, is large enough for boating and water skiing and is full of trout and salmon if you like to fish. Periodically you may spot an Osprey or Bald Eagle doing some fishing of their own. Frequently, Whitetail Deer will be seen in the front yard feeding in the morning. We have also seen elk and moose on occasion, but deer are very common. Whitetail Lodge is situated on a 1 acre wooded lot located about 100 yards up a slope from Glen Lake. The lodge construction is called post and beam. The frame of the house was built using huge Engelmann Spruce logs (26 inches to 38 inches in diameter) from Prince George, Canada. All the ceilings are constructed from tongue-and-groove pine planking. The walls between the logs are sheetrock. The massive logs give the Lodge a majestic look and feel and the sheetrock adds a clean and finished appearance. This is truly a very unique and beautiful structure. Construction of Whitetail Lodge was completed in the fall of 2002. The main floor contains one bedroom, one bathroom and the kitchen. These rooms have tall 10 foot ceilings with log beams running throughout. The main floor also has a great room (combination living room and dining area) with enormous logs, a very tall 22 foot high vaulted ceiling and numerous picture windows looking out over the lake. Stairs lead up to a loft which includes a cozy and quaint reading room and a very nice master bedroom suite including a private bathroom. Stairs also lead down into a daylight basement which contains a spacious family room, a large bedroom, and a fully equipped laundry room. Outside, Whitetail Lodge is finished with cedar siding, blending it in nicely with it’s heavily wooded surroundings. A spacious deck spans the front of the Lodge overlooking Glen Lake and the mountains on the opposite shore. There is a convenient circle driveway leading into the lodge with a nicely developed gathering area for children to play in the center of the drive and one RV site (with full hook ups) tucked into the trees on the outside radius of the drive. Whitetail Lodge does not have direct lake access but the lake does offer a public boat launch and public beach area. This area is located around the opposite side of the lake. DIrections to the public beach area are posted in Whitetail Lodge. Additional charges may apply for parties larger than 8. Whitetail Lodge is located 6 miles south of Eureka, MT (45 miles north of Whitefish, Montana) at 2,800 feet elevation, situated between the Canadian border and Northwest Montana's Flathead Valley. Air transportation is provided year round to Kalispell's Glacier International Airport. The lodge is approximately 55 minutes north of the airport. Spokane Airport is serviced by all major carriers and is approximately 4 hours away. Specific Directions If you travel to Montana by train (Amtrak) to Whitefish or fly into Glacier International Airport in Kalispell (click here for flights into Glacier International Airport), take U.S. Hwy 93 north from Whitefish for 50 miles. Turn east (right) onto Whitetail Drive. Continue to stop sign and turn right on Glen Lake Road. Follow the directions below. If you are traveling south on U.S. Hwy 93 from Eureka, go 5 miles and turn west (left) onto Glen Lake Road. Follow the directions below. Once on Glen Lake Road continue for 2 miles to Glen Lake Drive. Turn left and continue 1/4 mile until you come to a gray house with an unattached garage. Turn left directly after this house onto a gravel road and continue 200 yards up the hill. Near the top you will turn right into the drive of Whitetail Lodge (look for the Casazza sign).

The Space1/4 mile from an award winning brewery with pizza. Close to hiking trails and beautiful lakes and streams with amazing fishing. Eureka is 8 miles north, a small friendly town with everything (almost) that one could want. Good restaurants and fun shopping. Whitefish is 45 minutes south. A beautiful drive and the way to Glacier National Park. Guest AccessWe have a small acreage. There is a garden, apothecary with courtyard, and barn with a few farm pets. Just now two cute little sheep, black Scottie and Popeye. A friendly black pony named Raven and a lovely "herd" of chickens which provide us with wonderful eggs. Guests are free to wander about the barn and garden. Interaction with GuestsIf there is anything you might need or want that I am able to provide I will be pleased to do so. You will be left to your privacy unless you wish to interact. The NeighborhoodJust off Grave Creek Road is a wonderful place to call home. We are a close community. Our local brewery offers a unique experience with music many nights. The Gift Emporium and Rare Bears both have unique gifts and collectables. Even winter is a beautiful time of the year. Cross country skiing and snowmobiling are nearby. Getting AroundWe are far from public transportation. Although Bernice does ride her horse to visit neighbors, you will want your own transportation. Other Things to NoteWe live at nearly 3,000 feet. The nights can be chilly, days sometimes hot. If you wish to hike bring appropriate shoes and bear spray. There are wonderful spots to take a dip, although chilly, so bring a suit.
