The SpaceThis little cabin has lovely views that overlook the pasture and the redwoods. It is located within 5 -30 minutes of everything you might need from groceries to the ocean, rivers, redwood paths of the Pacific Northwest. Avenue of the Giants is only 10 minutes away, it is a good base for the Tour of the Unknown bike race, or visiting the Kinetic sculpture race. Good dining, great beer, wine etc. Humboldt is famous for many culinary delights. Guest AccessGuests have access to a sweet little orchard and picnic area. They have outdoor soaking bathtubs (if we are not experiencing a drought). Wifi can be made available at main house when owner is in. The bathroom facilities are not attached. Shower is outside on breezeway and toilet facilites are in separate building 20 feet from the cabin. Interaction with GuestsMy interaction with the guests is as needed. I assume that my guests come to the redwoods for peace and quiet. I am available to answer questions and help with directions and restaurant bookings etc. when I am here. Sometimes we all meet at my brick patio for an evening around the fire pit. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is very quiet and rarely do you hear much more than a barking dog. The orchard is home to deer and other wildlife and there are great hikes nearby. Getting AroundA car is needed as the only public transportation is 2 miles down the hill.

The SpaceThe spacious library with side guest bedroom looks out onto extensive woodland and fruit trees. This is the Pacific Northwest and it is gorgeous and quiet. This home is just 5 minutes from the old mill town of Scotia. It lies minutes of great hikes at the beach, redwood forests, or the ridges that look down onto the Eel River Valley. Lovely Victorian towns are within 20 minutes drive offering fine restaurants and more. Farm animals are 3 outdoor cats and plenty of wild animals, deer, fox etc Languages spoken are: English, French, Spanish (not brilliantly) and of course I am interesting in learning any other language (-: Wifi is available. No smoking indoors, no pets and no television. Continental breakfast available upon request and for a small fee. Guest AccessGuests have access to walking through the 5 acres of redwoods and apple orchard. They have a 'kitchen' area that includes coffee maker and hot plate. If they need more such as a small refrigerator or microwave I can make that available. Interaction with GuestsI interact with guests as they wish. I am usually in town and working somewhere on the property or at my gallery in Eureka. If in the evenings I make a fire in the fire pit for guests I might sit and share in a glass of wine. But really it is up to the guests to decide what their privacy needs are. My own are to not be awakened with questions too early or too late... :-) Guests have a private entry. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is very rural. It is quiet and most homes are on more than 5 acres. You will hear the barking of a dog in the distance and an occasional logging truck or rancher transporting his cattle up the road. I love the green ferns, trees and native flora. And I enjoy a quiet walk in the evenings overlooking the Eel River Valley from just smile up my road. Getting AroundA car is a must... Other Things to NoteL'appartement est un bas de le maison. Il y a plusieurs fenêtres sur le jardin etc. Il se garde frais and tranquil.
