Delectable Hill Country Retreat
Awapiko, Tiniroto, Gisborne
Even locals are amazed when they first visit Awapiko. Uniquely high in natural energy, with fantastic views over the surrounding hills, 200 hectares of native bush, native birds in profusion and a night sky like you've never seen before! Take a trek through the bush (or ask about our survival courses and guided hunting options). Try the famous trout fishing on the Hangaroa River just down our drive. Bask, picnic, swim or dive off the cliff at the Awapiko Falls. Ask about local attractions, activities and events. Or just hang out at the Lodge and relax.
The Lodge is a beautifully renovated Shearers Quarters with shining Matai wood floors. It has two generous, tastefully appointed queen bedrooms (extra beds can be arranged) and a bunk room sleeping up to four. It is fully equipped for short or long term stays. The kitchen/dining room provides a gas oven, large fridge and full complement of cooking and eating utensils. The verandah is a wonderful spot to have a barbie, enjoy the panoramic view and simply sit back and take it easy.
We provide complementary beverages. A wide variety of delicious gourmet meals, often featuring locally caught fish and game, can be prepared by arrangement, and we can also supply organic veggies, etc. in season straight from the farm.
We're sure you'll love your stay at Awapiko. Everyone else (but one) did!
We welcome enquiries about off season and long term visits.
