The SpaceYour ground-level apartment is self-contained, with a separate entrance from the family home. Opening onto a sunny terrace, the main room has a TV, heater, wardrobe, and a new queen bed with cotton sheets. The ensuite is supplied with a hairdryer, soap, shampoo and large towels . The kitchenette is set up with a table and 2 chairs, microwave, mini fridge, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker and coffee plunger. Muesli, milk, tea and freshly ground organic coffee are provided free of charge. There is no stove/cooker, but there are plenty of charming cafes and restaurants 2 minutes away. To explore the local area you are welcome to borrow our kayak or bikes and visit the beaches at the end of the street or bike to the CBD along the marina. Take a stroll up Ponsonby Road and explore its fashion boutiques, galleries, homeware shops, bars and thriving restaurant scene. Local shops include a pharmacy, three grocery stores with fruit and vegetables, and a French bakery. Getting AroundBuses for the CBD leave at the corner of the street. It's a 10-minute trip to the city, Auckland University, AUT and the harbour, where you can take a ferry to the seaside village of Devonport or Waiheke Island with its beaches, vineyards and art trails. Sky City, many superb restaurants, cafes, pubs and lively hip nightlife are all within walking distance along with hairdressing, beauty Spa and gyms. This is a very dynamic, changing part of Auckland city CBD. Many of the city's older commercial buildings are being converted or replaced with quality apartments, restaurants and cafes which is transforming and providing a new vitality and livability to this part of the city. This transformation brings construction to the area. With construction hours tightly controlled by the Auckland Council, thick walls and double glazing you are assured of minimal noise disturbance. Parking is just outside the Studio, in the Studio's private, dedicated off street parking space. TIP: If you start your NZ journey in Auckland, a car is not needed while you are at the Studio because it is so central. You can rent your car when you are ready to leave town. Major car rental companies and lesser known budget rental car companies are close by. Also if you end your journey in Auckland, return your car in the city and take public transport to the airport. I appreciate how every penny counts when you are traveling. Princes Wharf This complex was developed in the late 1990's on the original 1924 commercial wharf, the six shipping sheds have been redesigned and built to look like a liner. Shed 20 is on the eastern side with views across to Queens Wharf, the ferry terminal and out to the harbour, the North Shore and Rangitoto Island. The wharf is still a working wharf and although the overseas cruise terminal was relocated to Queens Wharf in 2013, occasionally a cruise liner still berths on the eastern side of Princes Wharf. The wharf is now home to the Hilton Hotel, the Princes Wharf Apartments, some commercial offices and a variety of cafes and restaurants. Princes Wharf This complex was developed in the late 1990's on the original 1924 commercial wharf, the six shipping sheds have been redesigned and built to look like a liner. Shed 19 is on the eastern side with views across to Queens Wharf, the ferry terminal and out to the harbour, the North Shore and Rangitoto Island. The wharf is still a working wharf and although the overseas cruise terminal was relocated to Queens Wharf in 2013, occasionally a cruise liner still berths on the eastern side of Princes Wharf. The wharf is now home to the Hilton Hotel, the Princes Wharf Apartments, some commercial offices and a variety of cafes and restaurants. Apartment 23 Shed 19 On the 5th floor of Shed 19 Princes Wharf with stunning views across the harbour to Devonport and beyond, this spacious 57 sqm one bedroom apartment has an open living area with a wide deck to sit out on and watch the ships, ferries, city and other maritime activity. When visiting Auckland I highly recommend staying in Freemans Bay. It really is the best place to get a real flavour of true Auckland life. I enjoy sports and music, gigs, festivals and will be more than happy to give you some tips to enjoy your trip in Freemans Bay. I have 1 Single available with Closet / Wardrobe and Desk and Lamp.
