The SpaceOur hostel is located on a 2 acre sustainable farm in the historic Village of Gagetown. It is an old farmhouse that we're in the process of updating and modernizing but parts of the house are still very old. Everything is clean but much of the decor is still very dated (we'll call it "old-world charm"). The Village itself sits on the Saint John River which creates a plethora of outdoor activities. Check out the hostel website at (URL HIDDEN) Our property provides a laid back country atmosphere for those looking for a peaceful getaway. Guest AccessGuests have access to everything! Kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, living room, dining room, outdoor eating areas in the summer (screened in front porch), fire pit, BBQ, etc. We also have wireless internet and, most importantly, GOATS! Who could resist! Interaction with GuestsWe interact with guests as much or as little as they would like depending on our schedule. We are used to having people around and are generally good at gauging these types of things. The NeighborhoodOur Village is our neighbourhood! This community of 700 is small but (seasonally) vibrant. It boasts a pub on the river, 2 restaurants (one family restaurant and one "fine dining"), a small grocery/gas/liquor store, a boat launch/park/swimming area, and the largest sailboat docking port on the Saint John River! Some amenities are seasonal so if you're traveling here from October to early May, there may not be much that's happening. Getting AroundYour feet take you anywhere you want to go! Everything is within walking distance. Other Things to NoteWe do have a hypo-allergenic dog named "Beans" on the property. She's very friendly and loves other animals! Our property has an old hand dug well (for water) which is used for showering, cleaning, etc. Water for drinking is provide for you in your room, and also in the kitchen for tea, coffee, cooking, etc. Special Note: This is an operational farm all year round. We sometimes have projects on the go, and we do our best to keep them contained while we have guests. That said, they sometimes overflow into areas of the house/hostel and yard.
