The SpaceCute & eclectic bench home. Mid-century country charm meets bohemian artsy. Super fun hosts who love Boise and love to show you around or give you all the necessary deets on where to go and what to see no matter what type of adventure you seek! We love to travel and meet new people and share our love of Boise with others just as we love learning from locals in other cities about their towns. The large back yard has a yard swing and hammock (the back yard is currently undergoing re-landscaping conversion to a permaculture yard, the front is lovely with a summer nosh garden). Both yards are private with abundant raspberries in summer and we are a stroll from blackberry picking. In the warm summer months the upstairs bedroom uses a water-cooled box fan for AC or a window AC unit while the basement bedroom stays pretty cool. We have additional fans & will do what we can to make your stay comfortable. Guest AccessKitchen, Bathroom, Laundry, TV, Front Yard, on and off-street parking Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as you like. Let me know what you'd like to know about town & I'm happy to fill you in. I've lived here most of my life & if I don't know the answer, I generally know who does. We do love to get to know you while you're staying here so if you require ultimate privacy please let us know ahead of time so we can both be comfortable. The NeighborhoodMinutes from greenbelt access, freeway and downtown. The Bench is Boise's up'n'coming cool spot with ethnically diverse markets and eateries. I love the diversity with all of the various ethnic markets and cafes. There are a lot of younger people moving in to this area. The greenbelt, downtown and freeway are all easy to access as well as the Garden City for a great show at the Visual Arts Collective ("the VAC") stage for local & touring Indie music, local art shows and home of Alley Repertoire Theater. Getting AroundIf you're familiar with Boise, you know the public transit system is close to non-existent. There are bus stops on either end of the street but bus service ends around 7pm on most days & is limited (if at all?) on Sundays. The Valley Ride website has more info on bus routes and I can help you find this if you are interested in giving the transit system a try. Uber is available and quickly becoming the ride of choice, depending on the season and availability I have bikes that you can borrow for short trips or rent for longer durations of use. Other Things to NoteThe back yard is currently undergoing some serious renovation (summ(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)..) the front yard is still pleasant & you're welcome to hang out in the back yard but please understand the current situation is mulch layer prepping for permaculture overhaul. The garage is unavailable & the vintage Dodge station wagon in the driveway is an old friend in long-term repair. We have 2 cats who call the house home: Bailee (all black) is more of an outdoor cat while Princess (tuxedo b&w) prefers the indoors. Their food, water & box are in the basement laundry room & when we are travelling we have a friend who tends to them, please don't be surprised when they knock on the door to take care of the girls. When we are home, our dog Lucy is a friendly & social Mountain View Cur but don't be scared off by her gruff greeting, it's how she lets everyone know she's the gatekeeper, she warms up right away & if you stay awhile she soon greets you with a smile and a wag. While we are gone she keeps our friends company at their house. If you have pets please understand animal nature is that ours will be territorial but will likely warm up after some transitional time if you happen to be staying for more than a week (all depending on the mix of personalities).

The SpaceI have 1 guest room and this is a great place for taking time out to reflect, work or get inspired. My space is clean, quiet and peaceful. Guest rooms are located at opposite ends of the same hallway so I ask that you be especially considerate of your “hallmate”. Guests share the main bathroom , which includes tub & shower. Also, my bedroom is right off the kitchen and I have to keep my door ajar for the cats, so I ask that you keep the lights and noise down in the kitchen after I’ve gone to bed, usually around 11:00pm. I practice my cello mornings 10am-12, or evenings between 5 & 9pm. During the summer the AC is set at 78 degrees during the day and once it cools off outside then we open the windows. During the winter the thermostat is set at 62-64 degrees. I do not adjust the thermostat to accommodate guests for various reasons, so please be prepared to live with these indoor temperatures. Guest AccessGuests have full access to the washer & dryer, kitchen, and living room. Internet is not provided. But there is a coffee shop 3 blocks away with Wi-Fi and, Boise State University library (a 10min. bike ride away on the bike path) has guest computer access and Wi-Fi, and is open 7am-midnight while school is in session. Interaction with GuestsI am an experienced traveler and I enjoy meeting new people, but I also work from home and my work is project driven so I have to stay focused. I am looking to host independent, responsible, considerate, like-minded people, and I especially look forward to hosting other artists. Since I started hosting in 2014 I have learned that I do best hosting people who have their own agenda, or who have a specific goal/assignment while they are here, for example: students doing internships, or research projects, musicians on tour, or people who have just relocated for a job. That being said, I do enjoy socializing with my guests when I have time, but if you are coming here on vacation and are in need of a tour guide or companionship this might not be the right fit. The NeighborhoodIn my opinion the bench area has more variety and has a more cosmopolitan feel compared to the north end. Fred Myers grocery store, ethnic restaurants/markets, and multiple thrift stores, are within 10 minutes walking distance. Spectacular Ann Morrison Park, Boise State University and downtown are 10-15 minutes by bike along the bike path. Getting AroundThere is also a bus stop two blocks down the street. I've never used the Valleyride bus system and I've heard that sometimes buses are late. There is a bus that travels between Boise and Nampa. Check the Valleyride site for bus info. Nearest bus stop is two blocks away. Personally I prefer walking or riding the bike: The Boise greenbelt is a paved bike path that follows the river; it is a very pleasant and efficient way to get around. From my house it is a 5-10 minute ride to the bike path. Other Things to NotePlease be prepared to observe house rules upon arrival!

The SpaceLess than 3 miles from downtown, this home is in an established neighborhood and has been almost totally redone inside. The guest room at the front of the house has a queen size bed and features a higher ceiling that gives it a cozy, bungalow feeling. Guest and master rooms are separated by two rooms so you will experience a lot of privacy. I am usually able to accommodate last minute travel arrangements. Excellent location for those passing through. And a perfect option for business travelers/executives who need a regular place to stay. Kitchen, living, and dining rooms are also available to you... as is the back yard (and hammock - at your own risk!) and front enclosed patio (with bistro table & chairs). The home is situated on a corner lot a few blocks from State Street but it is extremely quiet as there is no through traffic. Minutes to foot hills, downtown, Eagle, Freeway and more. Parking: there is ample residential street parking and a parking pad/driveway in front of my house that you may use. I offer fresh brewed coffee as well as bread (or muffins), jam, butter and a toaster. Filtered water and ice available. Fresh linens, towels, pillows, iron/ironing board, wifi, alarm clock, and bath soap are all provided for you. Hair dryer is available upon request. 42" flat screen with Netflix, Hulu, and DVD Blu Ray. Bathroom: for the most part the guest bathroom is all yours - definitely for one (possibly two) night guests! For longer reservations, there is a small chance I will use the shower during your stay but I do my best to do so while you are out. I will coordinate with you so as not to interrupt your plans. I use the half bath in my master for all other purposes so it is highly unlikely this will be an issue – there haven’t been any conflicts so far :) One VERY shy kitty lives here - I doubt you will ever see her. Guest AccessThis is a residential neighborhood so there is plenty of parking. Guests are welcome to park on the street or use the front parking pad. Guests enter through the front door. Interaction with GuestsI am very friendly and like to chat with new people for a bit. I've really enjoyed meeting guests from all over and learning about their lives and travels. I also totally respect your comfort zone and do not take it personally if you want to keep to yourself. I love Boise and can offer a lot of info about where to go, what to do and see! Just let me know your pleasure and I'm sure to have (or find) a great recommendation for you. I have also provided many local attractions and restaurants in my airbnb Guidebook which will be helpful to you. The NeighborhoodQuiet quiet quiet! Tree-lined, established older neighborhood minutes to just about everything. Located in NW Boise between Hill Rd. & State Street. Less than 3 miles to downtown. Easy access to greenbelt. Bike/walk to downtown to enjoy its many splendors! Getting AroundAbout $12 cab ride to downtown. Close proximity to the greenbelt which offers a lovely walking/biking path into the heart of Boise and beyond. Other Things to NoteEven though check in is 2:00 I can usually accommodate earlier arrivals - just let me know and we can work it out.

We also have an 8 year old Corgi dog, a 3 year old doppy Bassett Hound ans a 19 year old cat that are around in 5he backyard but are not allowed in the suite. As the suite is on a separate heating and a/c you can keep the unit ad hot or cold as you like and we have never had any complaints of allergy's. The NeighborhoodThis is a neighborhood of 1 acre lots and large older homes. It's very quiet with very low traffic and few younger kids around. Very nice for walks through the neighborhood yet very close to shopping, medical care and the airport. Getting AroundPublic transit in Boise is not easy. There is bus service accessible but is 1/2 mile from the suite. Taxi service is fast and affordable with trips to the airport costing about 10-15 dollars. The SpaceThe two main bedrooms side by side which share a bathroom across the hall. The master bedroom and bathroom, it is my room when I'm in town, thus the least organized for hosting. The master has a TV with DirecTV and DVD player. One of the rooms has a TV but is not hooked up to anything. Guest AccessLivingRoom: Make yourself comfortable, turn on some DirecTV or use the Bluetooth to crank the stereo. Kitchen: You are more than welcome to treat it as your own. Kitchenware is in cupboards/drawers to the left of the microwave and each side of the oven, 2 BBQs are available one in front one in back, don't know why I have two. Be mindful of the propane (not guaranteed to be full). Patio: Covered patio with table & chairs, surrounded by a large green lawn. Washer/Dryer: Feel free to use them, Tide is available for your use. Parking: Welcome to park on the street or on the left side of the driveway but please leave large space in front of garage. People may get things out of the garage but will stay out of the house. Garage: Please stay out of the garage, it's a wreck. Interaction with GuestsIf you have any questions about the house or Boise feel free to ask. I can recommend a lot of local restaurants and bars. People may grab things out of the gargage but will stay out of the house. Getting Around-Their are bus stops near by. -Uber is available, as wells as more traditional cabs. -Lots of shopping in walking distance.

The SpaceCool, shady spot - fenced backyard with dog door to garage so you can safely leave your dog while exploring the area. Front yard is larger and looks out toward park like school yard. A great spot to exercise your dog/kids. A city pool is also a half block walk, next to the school. All of the house common areas, garage, yard and street parking are available to you. There are 3 bedrooms. Two bedrooms have a queen sized bed, one has a full sized bed, and two large corner closets (almost a room) each have a twin bed. So 8 people total can have a bed if you put 2 in each queen/full. The 9th person could have the couch, and the 10th should bring a sleeping bag! We will be available by phone/text, and Miranda is available right next door if you need help. Close bike ride to downtown (20 or so blocks - pleasant flat ride through beautiful neighborhoods); Closer to Hyde Park and Camel's Back Park. A school across the street has a great set of play structures and lawn. Bikes are provided! One cruiser, four mountain bikes, and three tiny kid's bikes. At night we like to open windows to listen to the crickets and let in nice, cool fresh air. It's pretty quiet around here. Guest AccessMake yourself at home! Kitchen, living room, fireplace, front and back patio, bedrooms, garage, bathrooms and laundry are all there for you to use. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available by phone/text. We live out of town but have people next door if you need help. Sometimes we'll leave some food behind you're welcome to help yourself to, like a container of milk or box of cereal. We won't drink out of the carton and you won't either, right? The NeighborhoodClose bike ride to downtown (20 or so blocks - pleasant flat ride through beautiful neighborhoods); Even closer to Hyde Park, and Boise River Park is just on the other side of State Street - about 6 blocks walk. 2 blocks to a convenience store; cool school yard with huge lawn and play structures across the street. Half a block to a city pool. Getting AroundThere is one garage parking space and plenty of street parking. You can also walk, bike (bikes included!), taxi or bus around town if you don't have a car. Other Things to NoteThe living room is smaller and comfortably fits 4 people. Larger groups can spread out downstairs/upstairs/outside. About 10 people can fit around the dining table, snugly. If you are wanting 6+ people to watch TV all at once some people will be on the floor. There is no cable/satellite TV but you can tune in local channels, or login to your Netflix streaming account on the "smart" TV. Please give us feedback on what worked and didn't or was missing our would be nice to have. We're trying to make it a perfect place to crash.
