The apartment is on the third floor, i.e., two floors above ground level. The courtyard in front of the building is shared with other residents, and the apartment is accessible from the front via the courtyard and also from the back via the parking area leading to a separate stairwell and back door into the kitchen. Interaction with GuestsWe are easily reachable by phone and email should our guests have any questions or special requests. We can be on site within a half hour in case of emergency. The NeighborhoodHighlights of the neighborhood include the trendsetting shops on Kloof, the Labia theatre on Orange, Bacini's pizzeria at the top of Kloof, the surprisingly comprehensive Gardens shopping centre, and the historic De Waal park, which hosts free outdoor concerts during the summer months. If you are not picnicking at De Waal park, then you could be enjoying the exquisite high tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel just around the corner. Or you can take a hike straight up through Gardens and Oranjezicht to Table Mountain National Park, and continue on to the top of Table Mountain or Lion's Head. Also just a few minutes away on foot is the Hiddingh campus of UCT, from which UCT affiliates can take the campus shuttle bus around the mountain to Rondebosch, Claremont, and Observatory. Getting AroundJust outside Cape Town's bustling central business district, the apartment is only a few minutes' walk from trendy Kloof Street, spirited Long Street, and the museums of Company Gardens. The MyCiti bus system operates throughout the City Bowl, with a bus stop right outside the apartment (web search "MyCiti bus" for more details). For those who will be renting cars, we have a locked garage that guests may use during their stay. If you arrive by air and don't plan to rent a car, you may take a metered taxi from the airport for around R300.
