The SpaceLess than 5 minutes to the North entrance to Yellowstone, a 1 minute walk to our local grocery store and other shopping. Lovely hot tub on the river. 2 living rooms, 2 bedrooms, plus a queen sized pull out couch. Car port and sun room! Soapstone wood stove for the chilly months (wood provided). There are 2 bedrooms: 1 queen bed in the large master bedroom, 2 twin beds in the smaller room, 1 queen pull out couch in 1 of the living rooms. (It would be easy to accommodate children in sleeping bags in the master bedroom) there is a garden tub in the master and a shower in the 2nd bathroom. Sometimes we will be on site to greet you, if not, we will be available by phone/text. It's a small, quiet neighborhood...Gardiner is a real hodge podge of homes, we hope you enjoy its eccentricities as much as we do! There is not any public transportation in Gardiner but there are many private companies that can be hired out. Montana and Gardiner travel taxes are included. $100 cleaning fee $300 deposit (refundable after unit is cleaned and all is well, including hot tub) Interaction with GuestsPlease call or email to make your reservation. Sometimes we will be on site to greet you, if not, our manager will be available if needed. Here's our favorite 1 day itinerary ( considering the current road closures) A nice drive thru Yellowstone so that you get to see most of the park in one day. There is a road closed between mammoth and Norris, so the route I am giving you, accounts for that. From our house head up to -Mammoth Hot Springs (while there, take the short -about 2 miles-scenic "terrace drive" which is about 2 miles up the road from the hotel.) -head back down to Mammoth and turn toward Hayden Valley -Take Dunraven Pass all the way to Canyon Village: -go to the visitors center -drive to 'Artists Point', this is a short walk for a spectacular view-be sure to hold kid's hands here -head toward Lake Yellowstone, drive by the beautiful grand hotel -head toward Old Faithful: -park the car here and go to the visitors center to find out when the next Old Faithful eruption is predicted, then walk around the back side of the geyser so you can watch it away from the crowd :) -we love to get root beer floats at the General Store (or a drink on the 2nd story porch of the Old Faithful Inn) - if you walk around a bit, be sure to ask a ranger where 'anemone' geyser is, that is our son Rowan's favorite because it sounds like a toilet flushing! From here, you'll need to turn around and drive all the way back...due to the road closure, or you can continue toward Madison/Norris but you will still have to go back over Dunraven pass. Be sure to bring your warm clothes, it gets very cold in Yellowstone! Getting AroundThere is NO public transportation in Gardiner. Other Things to NoteWe do have a tv, but we DO NOT have satellite or cable tv. There is a DVD player and lots of movies. There is also an Apple TV, however, we cannot guarantee that the Apple TV will be working as the internet in Gardiner is a bit slow and sometimes does not connect well to the Apple TV. If you do sign in to Hulu or Netflix or any other Apple TV option, we ask that you "sign out" and DO NOT "reset" the Apple TV. If you "reset" the Apple TV, we have to call our tech person and we will charge $25 to your deposit. Thank you! Montana and Gardiner travel taxes are included. (That's right, we include all the taxes and fees -except cleaning fee-in our nightly price) Extra guests on approval and $30/night after 4 guests $100 cleaning fee $300 deposit (refundable after unit is cleaned and all is well, including hot tub)
