This vintage home built in 1901 was transformed in 2008 to a modern home with top end quality finishes. The charm of an older home is captured in the angles and high ceilings of an older home. The first floor contains the living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry, and bathroom. The living room and dining room are available to guests for games, relaxing, TV, etc. Guests are invited to enjoy the outdoor patio under a shade pavilion. When the weather warms breakfast on the patio is especially nice! The bedrooms, lounging room, bathroom and office are located upstairs. The bedrooms offer small refrigerators, flatscreen TV's, and blueray DVD players. We provide bathrobes and beach towels for guests who want to relax in the eight person spa. Mary has a passion for competitive tennis. On most days a gourmet breakfast will be served in the dining room. However, since tennis has to come first, Mary will not guarantee a daily breakfast anymore. Everyone raves about the comfort of the beds. The sitting room also has a beverage center and microwave oven. WIFI is free. Need something to read? We have a community book exchange, too. We are located only 1.5 blocks to Gig Harbor Bay and downtown central where there are lots of quaint shops, restaurants, a museum, art galleries, wine bars, walking trails, and boat and paddle board and kayak rentals. The community offers free use of life jackets, too. Within an hour's drive, you will find a classic car museum, wildlife up close and personal, theme park and water slides, Olympia-Washington's capital city, Seattle and Pike's Place Market, tennis, ice skating, harbor tours, Chihuly's famous glass art, Pt. Defiance Park and Zoo, golf courses too numerous to count, and much more! Come visit! With lots of room to move about, The Parsonage will be your home, away from home! The summer group rate for both rooms is $234 per night , $1475 per week, and $4500 per month. Whew! No banging doors, no car doors slamming, no freeway noise! The Parsonage is located in a residential neighborhood. With Mt. Rainier looming majestic as a backdrop to Gig Harbor Bay, this is one of the most lovely places on earth! Gig Harbor is very centrally located to seeing many of the famous sites of Washington. Of course, everyone should spend some time in Seattle. The Seattle Center is only the starting point, from the Pacific Science Center, Space Needle, Dale Chihuly glass art and garden museum to a variety of children's activities. A visit to Poulsbo, a Scandinavian village, is only 50 minutes from The Parsonage. Take a ferry ride to Seattle, drive through Northwest Trek to see a wide range of animals in protected habitat, or drive to LaConnor, a Dutch village. Your days will be filled with more than one vacation can squeeze in. What we have described here is only the tip of the iceberg. The Parsonage is 45 minutes to Seattle Tacoma International Airport. You can rent a car there or take a shuttle to Gig Harbor, and rent a car locally. We have plenty of off-street parking. The Parsonage Bed and Breakfast is located downtown only 1.5 blocks from Gig Harbor Bay. The Harbor is lined with restaurants, shops, art galleries, marinas, a great local museum, parks, picnic areas, boat-kayak, and stand up board rentals. There are both paved trails and dirt paths through the woods for walking or jogging. We are 1.5 hours from Snoqualmie ski areas and Mt. Rainier.

The SpaceThere are two bathrooms, one upstairs without a shower , and a full bathroom w/ tub/shower downstairs. Full kitchen that you are welcome to use. The house has one main "master" bedroom facing the sound with King size bed, and another bedroom with a Queen size bed. The house has two loft spaces that are accessed via ladders, one loft has a single futon and the other a queen size futon. There is also a large couch and two smaller ones. This house is a bit dated as it is a fixer upper that we purchased and are in the process of a DIY remodel, a slow go and this airbnb thing helps out! Do not expect a four star hotel here, or a high end "vacation rental", this is a house that is lived in, with pictures of us on the wall, and a few stains on the older carpet... but regardless of that pretty sweet place in a great location. We own three lots here so about 250 feel of waterfront. Beyond that to the North, there is about 2-3 miles of beach without homes, so great area to hang out. There is one neighbor, a quiet lady who keeps to herself. We have a nice hot tub, and laundry, dishwasher, that you are also free to use. Property has a very Steep drive so it is not very good for rear wheel drive or motorcycle access, however there is a large landing that those sorts of vehicles can park. It's about 5 min outside of downtown (old town) Gig Harbor WA. KIDS LOVE THIS HOUSE, and we have fishing rods for you and them to use! ** If you plan to stay with small children please consider the potential of them getting hurt , as the bulkhead is a potential fall hazard as is the ladders going to the lofts, not to mention the wood stoves or hot tub. We do require a signed liability release if you plan on having children under the age of 18 years old. Good luck in your search and we are hear to answer any questions you might have. Larry & Camilla PS: There are 4 kayaks and life-jackets here for your use. Kayaking can be dangerous, so we do require a release of liability to use them. Guest AccessYou can use entire house, aside from two storage rooms and the office in the house that have the doors shut. Key will be provide as well as a detailed document explaining how to get to property. Interaction with GuestsWe are not home during stays, however we are within an hour if need be. We have a house in Seattle that we stay at when this house is rented out. The NeighborhoodIt is very quiet, about a half mile drive from the road to get to property. Getting AroundEasy access to old town Gig Harbor. The house is about 45 min to Seattle in good traffic, and about 25 min to downtown Tacoma in good traffic. There is a bridge that is a toll bridge that costs $5 to cross. Other Things to Note**We require a signed liability release from ALL guests who will be visiting our home. ** As mentioned. If you plan to stay with small children please consider the potential of them getting hurt , as the bulkhead is a potential fall hazard as is the ladders going to the lofts, not to mention the wood stoves or hot tub. One loft access if from a bedroom, some might consider this an issue.

The SpaceThe quiet setting with deer, eagles, water views and a real Northwest feel but close to town, 10 mins to downtown Gig Harbor and the bridge, 20 mins to Tacoma, 45 mins to Seattle make this unique. Guest AccessGuest access is a large bedroom, private full bath, huge family room, a small bar fridge and microwave for drinks and snacks. Interaction with GuestsIn terms of our interaction with guests that will be strictly their call. If a quiet retreat is what they are looking for that's what they will have. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood feels very rural, only 4 houses on our hill overlooking Puget Sound. Our property is 1/2 acre and completely private. Getting AroundOnce you are in Gig Harbor there is now a trolley that will take you from one part of town to another. Other Things to NoteMany of our friends and family who have stayed with us tell us they feel like the are in their own little private B&B set off from the rest of the house.

A rowboat (life vests provided) is available for your use. Interaction with GuestsTHE CROW'S NEST at Anderson Landing is on the second floor of a separate building from the main house giving you both autonomy and comfort. We value your privacy (and ours), but will be available to answer any questions or help you in any way that we can. The NeighborhoodThe sea air is both peaceful and healing. Living on a body of saltwater with its tides and sea life is very different from living on a lake. Though, like a lake our bay seems intimate and protected, it can be more closely compared to living on a cul-de-sac...only this is a cul-de-sac of salt water. Beyond Wollochet Bay is Puget Sound. Beyond Puget Sound is the Ocean. And that's the wonder of it: our little bay eventually leads to the ends of the earth. Make The Crow's Nest your base camp! We have made up a binder with suggested outings, restaurants, entertainment and parks. (i.e. Our favorite day trip is catching a ferry to spend a day in Seattle. We have everything you need...from the ferry schedule to fun activities and sights to the best eateries...depending upon your preferences.) Getting AroundFree parking with room for a boat trailer or RV. You will need a vehicle, but everything in Gig Harbor is about 5 minutes away. There is public transportation within a 20 min. walk. Rental cars and shuttles are available at the airport if you are flying in to SeaTac. A binder with suggested outings and events from local to all-day trips is available in The Crow's Nest. Other Things to NoteIf you prefer a faster pace bring your own boat or jet ski and enjoy water skiing, inner tubing and other water sports. Whatever kind of watercraft you have, tie it up to the buoy, available for your use. There is ample room on the property for your boat trailer and a public boat launch just 3 doors down the street. You are also welcome to bring your own kayak(s) or canoe(s) or whatever boats you float.

Rainier tall and majestic with the Cascade Mountains at its feet. To the west are the Olympic Mountains as a beautiful backdrop to the villages a short drive from Gig Harbor. Eagles soar in our skies, a large variety of birds visit the yard, and deer may wander from the woods to munch the apple tree. The Parsonage is located only one and half blocks from Gig Harbor Bay. Shops, restaurants, a great museum, art galleries, boat-kayak-and stand up board rentals, parks, and picnic areas line the waterfront. There are dirt trails through the woods and paved trails for both pedestrians and bicyclists. A new YMCA is only one mile away. Gig Harbor is a quaint village that has big name stores and smaller shops. There is not as much rain as we like the non-Washingtonian's to think! When it does rain, it is generally droplets rather than mist. We are centrally located to many top visitor sites in the greater Puget Sound region and as the gateway to the Olympic Peninsula. Getting AroundGig Harbor is an original fishing village only 10 minutes from Tacoma. However, most of Gig Harbor has been built in the past 30 years. One should rent a car for best access to exploring the area. We have had guests that did not rent a car when visiting others in the area and they were completely happy. There is plenty of off street parking. Other Things to NoteWe offer a DISCOUNTED GROUP RATE WHEN THE KING AND QUEEN ROOMS ARE RESERVED TOGETHER. THE RATE IS $214.00 PER NIGHT, tax included. We also love serving guests healthy meals with consciousness about high cholesterol, lactose and glutten-free issues, and other health concerns. We use our garden produce, herbs, and flowers for the breakfast meal.

Due to difficulties with this website, bookings thru airbnb.com must be at least 3 nights & must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance. For BETTER RATES/ SHORTER STAYS/ less notice, please contact me thru my listing on Vacation Rentals By Owner - (usa>washington state> puget sound > gig harbor > the gig harbor guest house- best downtown on the water) We are able to accept Visa, Mastercard & Discovery Card. Thanks- Marlene Please note: Gig Harbor is across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge from Tacoma. Lots of great things to see and do in both Gig Harbor & Tacoma (I've got a long list of recommendations). It takes about 45 minutes to drive from Tacoma to Seattle, you can also take the ferry from the peninsula to Seattle. If the main focus of your trip is taking in the sights in Seattle, unless you LOVE driving, the Guest House is probably not ideal. The listing, for some unknown reason, lists the neighborhood as "Ruston" - Ruston is actually across the bridge from Gig Harbor. Neighborhood should read "Gig Harbor". Guest AccessThe entire house! Interaction with GuestsI am available if needed but door is on a code lock so they don't even have to meet me to check in and out if they don't want to. The NeighborhoodWalk out onto Harborview! Enjoy stores, restaurants, parks and the scenic views! Getting AroundThe bus route is along Harborview. Very walkable as well.

Harbor Home Vacation Rentals Exclusive: We have finished a full remodel/renovation of this historic home within walking distance of everything Gig Harbor has to offer. It used to be a bus depot in the 20's and a fire station in the 60's! Our home is located right in the center of it all. Looking directly at Gig Harbor Bay and Mt. Rainier. The view is picturesque! This home's central location makes it a perfect rental for your next stay in Gig Harbor. It is located right on Gig Harbor's main walking path and next to several restaurants; Anthony's, award winning JW's restaurant, Morso Wine Bar, Devoted Kiss breakfast and lunch, Marketplace Grille, and Finholms Deli. Within a quarter mile are kayak, paddle board and boat rentals, Donkey Creek park, the city park and boat launch, and the Gig Harbor History Museum. There is also a small marketplace a few doors down. The location is perfect and you could easily walk to everything. The house is within one mile is the local Gig Harbor public dock and park where summer concerts and events are held. Also, the world famous Tides Tavern and Green Turtle waterfront fine dining. The house has been fully renovated. Everything is brand new inside with high quality linens and beds and free WiFi. The decor has a retro vibe and embraces the home's age and unique architecture. The house was a bus barn in the 1920-30's. The main living area has a huge kitchen with a retro kitchen table for four. It is fully equipped and if you find something you need please let us know and we will provide it! There is a glass dining room with six chairs that looks right at the amazing view. An adjacent living room has lots of seating and above the fireplace is a new 50' TV with cable and a DVD player. There is a full bath on the main and three bedrooms. The largest has a California King and is adjacent to the bathroom. The vintage bathroom has been refurbished including the pink fixtures and existing chandelier to embrace the homes roots. The other bedroom includes a queen bed and ample storage. The third bedroom on the main level has a lofted double bed with a twin bed underneath. On the bottom floor we have a King bed and another TV/family room area and table and chairs. There is another full bathroom downstairs. The view at the house is senstational but it also means the majority of the living space is on the 2nd level. The entry is through the outside stairs and there are interior (steep) stairs as well. For more questions email me! There are some parking limitations for this property so please contact the owner with the number and size of vehicles for your stay. There is a small grassy yard behind the house and a patio right off the kitchen. All facing the incredible view this home has to offer. Center of it all. Across from Anthony's facing all of Gig Harbor Bay, Mt. Rainier, and the local commercial fishing boats.
