As businesses come and go, it's actually quite hard to determine what you'll see on the arrival - it's always a nice catch to see us surprised saying "Oh, that wasn't here last week" :) Getting AroundPlenty of buses going toward city center. Train station covering Glasgow agglomeration and direct line to Edinburgh in 8 minutes walk. 25 minutes walk to strict center of Glasgow (George Square), if you fancy catching some fresh Scottish air ;) Other Things to NoteNo smoking allowed in the house, however there is a comfortable social space in the back garden downstairs provided for the comfort of our guests.

    I live in a modern 2 bedroom flat near Glasgow royal infirmary on the east side of Glasgow.My home is 5minutes walk to tourist attractions such as Glasgow cathedral,necropolis,st mungo's museum,Provands lodge; 10 minutes walk to high street Glasgow train station,20 minutes to Glasgow queen street train station and 25 minutes to Glasgow central train station. I have a self contained flat with a kitchen ,open plan living and dining room with all mod cons ,cutlery and crockery.

    The SpaceLocated in a safe area within 1 mile of the city centre (less than £4 in a taxi) and within very close proximity to all the Commonwealth Games Events and Venues. Our beautiful flat provides a great sized kitchen with large fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, washing machine, plentiful work top space and all the utensils you could require. The bedrooms contains a double bed each. There is a spare single bed that can be used for a 5th guest on the living room floor. Our flat is decorated to suit our style and we hope you will love it as much as we do. Your bedrooms have a large wardrobe as well as drawers and storage boxes to ensure you really will feel at home. We have a bathroom containing an electric shower (therefore always hot water available) as well as a bath. Our area is truly ideal to live in as we are located so close to the city, as well as being located only half a mile from the main motorway which leads you to anywhere. There is a Tesco Extra, Costco and an Aldi Store located across the road. In addition, a Macdonalds restaurant is located less than a mile away.     Our home is situated in the east end of Glasgow, less than5 miles from the City centre. You may use the kitchen and laundry as required. Help yourself to tea and coffee and soft drinks from the kitchen or small fridge in the shared sitting room. Tidy garden and BBQ area which you may use at any time. On the local bus routes 3-4 miles from city centre and venues starting from 1.5 miles. We supply a large fresh Scottish and Polish breakfast. Just let us know what times suit you for breakfast. Snacks and light refreshments are also included for short stay guests.

    My husband James and I live in a traditional sandstone terraced house in a quiet street, just north of Glasgow city center. It's just the two of us with our (rather spoiled but very cuddly) cat, Cally, and Cockatiel, called Onan as well as two finches named Mick and Keith. Our home is just a 5 minute walk to the local shopping center or 10 mins walk to a large 24 hours supermarket. We have lots and lots of public transport into Glasgow center (10/15 mins by bus, or 6 mins by train) or to the trendy West End. The house has a been ours for just a year and we have done extensive work to it, putting back a lot of traditional features and re-modelling the (well equipped) kitchen/dining room. I love to cook and bake, and I rarely have anyone that doesn't want seconds. You are welcome to eat with us or cook for yourselves. None of the rooms are large, nor small. Just right to be cosy. There are 2 bedrooms (one for us, one for you - yours also doubles as my sewing room so there are a few things in there but they are all tidied away). One large bathroom and a downstairs toilet. There is a lovely sunny living room, a kitchen diner, a separate pantry/utility room (with washing machine, and dishwasher). There is a sheltered terraced garden front and back which faces south, perfect for sitting out on sunny days.

There is excellent public transport, both buses and trains and it is close to the M8 and M74 motorways. The train to the city centre is 7 minutes and the line goes to Edinburgh. You can also visit the beautiful Loch Lomond by train with a range of stunning views, in less than an hour. There are many shops nearby to buy anything you need and there are also supermarkets. There is also a beautiful park nearby and the International Leisure Centre, where the recent Commonwealth Games were held. You will also be able to help yourself to breakfast, toast, cereal, tea, coffee etc Guest AccessAs well as a private double bedroom, you will have access to other amenities in the flat. Therefore, you can use the kitchen to cook and to wash laundry. However, since you share the kitchen with me we can chat about times we will be cooking dinner. If you want to use food items in the kitchen just ask. You will also have access to the lounge. The bathroom will be shared with myself. There is fast wi-fi and free, plentiful, private parking. Towels are provided and extra fresh linen is available if required. There is also a hairdryer and straighteners on request if you need them. Interaction with GuestsI use Air bnb when I travel and respect that sometimes people just want to relax and have some time out when they are on holiday. I should be around during your visit. So if you want any information or ideas about your visit to Glasgow, I am happy to chat about this. I am a friendly person and will interact with guests as they want to. The NeighborhoodThe neighbourhood is very central and a short train ride away from the city centre. Trains are very frequent and you can also go to Edinburgh or Loch Lomond from the station near my home. Its a very quiet, residential neighbourhood. There is a beautiful park where you can enjoy a walk, jog or relax. The Tollcross International Leisure Complex is fantastic and should be experienced if you like to swim or play other sports. It is also close to the famous Celtic football stadium if you fancy watching a game or just visiting the stadium. The famous Barra's market which is open at weekends is also nearby, it is fun to browse and is famous for its mussels and whelks. Overall, you would experience the "real Glasgow" in this area where people are very friendly and helpful and it will be a challenge to see if you can understand the local accent! Getting AroundThere are buses into the city centre every 10 minutes and the trip takes about 20 minutes. The trains are every 15 minutes and takes 7 minutes. The train also goes to the beautiful Loch Lomond area which is a lovely journey and you can also visit the West End of Glasgow which is popular with students and has quirky shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. A taxi from the city centre costs around £10. If you are travelling by car, there is free and plentiful parking outside the house. Directions are provided in the itinery section. Other Things to NoteSince I work Friday to Tuesday I would appreciate if guests can tell me their arrival time when requesting to book so I can make arrangements for your check in. Wednesday and Thursdays are more flexible as I'm off work. Also I don't usually take late arrivals, although in some cases I can leave a key in the lock box if people are happy with this.

The NeighborhoodThe apartment complex is a modern open space with several grassy lawns. Near to the flat there are good amenities including supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, bars and petrol station. Getting AroundThe centre of Glasgow is a 15/20 minute walk from the apartment and several transport hubs are nearby including 10 minute walk to High Street Train Station which has regular trains to Edinburgh. There are also regular bus services from the front of the Royal Infirmary 5 minutes from the flat.

Across the road is Celino's; an Italian restaurant which was recently awarded 'Best Deli / Bistro 2014'. Close by there are a number of enjoyable bars and restaurants which we will happily point you in the direction of. 2 minutes walk away is the beautiful Alexandra Park, built by the craftsmen and artisans of Glasgow. Close by there are several newsagents, supermarkets, banks and other amenities. Getting AroundThere are good transport links into town via train. A 10 minute journey into the city centre; 20 minute journey to the west end where you will find the famous Botanic Gardens, Kelvingrove Museum, the Hydro and SECC. Or you can easily switch trains in town and journey to the south side to access Hamden Stadium, Pollock Country Park and Burrell Collection. There is also a frequent, reliable and late running bus service which arrives every 10 minutes, you could buy a cost effective day ticket to travel to all areas of the city.       The SpaceThis 2nd floor flat has just recently become available as my tenant is moving on suddenly for a new job in Manchester on the 18th of July. Consequently it will be furnished with a brand new bed and and suite (including sofabed) in the living room on the 19th of July and will be available from the 20th of July. It seems a good time to rent it out on a short-term basis to people visiting for the Games and wanting to save money on hotel rates and a bit more space and facilities for their money. It is in an ideal location for the Commonwealth Games, as you will see from the map, and it usually has excellent on-street parking (I am always able to park within a few meters of the front door, there do not appear to be many car owners in the area). There is a fully equipped bathroom and kitchen, so you will save money by making some meals at home. Guest AccessYou will have sole access to the entire flat, comprising living room with sofa bed, bedroom, internal kitchen, bathroom and hallway. You will have my phone number so that you can be in contact with me at any time, but unless I hear from you I am obviously happy for you to get on with your holiday undisturbed! The NeighborhoodIn addition to being close to the Commonwealth Venues you will be 2 miles from the City Centre, which you can access easily using buses a 2 minute walk away on Cumbernauld Road. Explore Merchant City (this side of town), and all the events happening at Glasgow Green over this period (again, 2 miles from the flat). You are right next to the Forge Shopping Centre and Retail Park, and why not explore the famous 'Barras' Market at the weekend, or get tickets to see a gig there at the Barrowlands, the favourite venue of many bands. Getting AroundPublic transport is excellent with the number 38 bus leaving from Cumbernauld Road every 5 minutes during peak times, and taking approximately 12 minutes to get to the city centre.
