The SpaceBuilt originally in the 1920's the cottage has undergone a major extension and renovation and provides comfortable, quiet accommodation with stunning views of Perth and the beautiful surrounding bush land. A swimming pool and a hammock (summer months) are just some of the little luxuries that come with it. It is available to solo travelers or couples only. Guest AccessThe principle bedroom is a very generous size with ample wardrobe space, spacious private sitting room, sliding doors onto the deck and north facing veranda. Bathroom is ensuite with shower, bath and toilet. The sitting room adjoins the bedroom and has a wood burning stove and access onto a large deck. There is also an additional separate toilet and shower in the laundry. A large family room (56+ sqm) with designer kitchen has stunning views of the city and a generous veranda with bbq. Garden and Swimming pool (summer only) Interaction with GuestsI live on the property and will be most probably staying in the adjoining self contained "Tiny House". I supply a continental style breakfast with local fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, honey, homemade jams, tea, coffee and milk. The NeighborhoodDarlington is a very sought after Hills location. Family friendly. There are a couple of cafes in the village, tennis courts, an excellent award winning winery within walking distance, and good shopping locally. Bush walks and nature abound. If you are interested in wildflowers, this is a real mecca! Getting AroundThere is a bus service from Darlington to Midland train station, however, it is a bit infrequent, and a car would be strongly recommended. I am happy to provide transport for a small cost to and from the airport if required. Other Things to NoteOther listings: It is also available as a private room with sitting room and ensuite and is listed under "Sunset Cottage - Perth Hills". Ideal for travelers who enjoy company or solo travelers wanting a fun and secure stay. The adjoining self contained "Perth Hills Tiny House" is listed separately.

The SpaceWe have an elegantly furnished guest room that has a King size bed (with minimal partner disturbance), walk-through shower and underfloor heating set in a beautiful location. From zero-VOC paint to the naturally sealed floor, the room has been built with as much care for the environment as possible. Your hot water is heated from the sun and power is largely supplied through our PV system. Summer nights in Hovea are rarely hot and the ceiling fan over the bed will keep you perfectly cool. There are modern conveniences such as wifi and a TV in your room, but your mobile phone will not work here :-) Guest AccessYou have access to the pool, the grounds of our property which includes Jane Brook, and the 26.78 km² of nearby John Forrest National Park. The guest room is detached from the main home but you are also welcome to enjoy the lounge area in our "big room" with wood fire. At the bottom of our property, you will find our bridge which will take you to the old Railway Reserve Heritage Trail. The trail is popular for walks and bike riding. Interaction with GuestsWe are both travellers and we love to meet people from all over the world. We are always keen to chat over a chai tea or coffee to share suggestions for places to see nearby :-) The NeighborhoodHovea is actually the largest locality in the Perth metro area but it's made up mostly of John Forrest National Park. The old railway reserve will take you directly into the park. The natural environment is mostly Jarrah forest which is unique to SW Australia. The area is very historic as much of the early development of Perth headed out East. Getting AroundThe Perth Hills are best explored by car. Drive to us and drive yourself around the hills, as there is little public transport, but plenty of parking and stunning scenery to enjoy. Other Things to NoteWe have a cat who lives indoors in the main house. Bring your walking shoes as there are so many wonderful walks near to us. We will supply insect repellent and sun screen if you need it. In terms of us, Jeremy works in IT and is a former school teacher. Claire is a Registered Nurse and qualified Naturopath. We are happy to cater your breakfast to suit your dietary needs!

The SpaceThis space is only available to a single person or a couple by nature of its unique size and layout. On the ground floor there is a comfortable sitting area with a dining table and chairs for working or eating at; a compact kitchenette with fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave plus a bathroom with shower, toilet and vanity. Upstairs accessed by stairs is a vaulted mezzanine area with a queen size bed. Guest AccessGuests can access the main house for food preparation and laundry by arrangement. In the summer time, there will be use of the swimming pool too. Interaction with GuestsI tend to try and give all my guests the maximum amount of space and privacy so that they can share in my personal enjoyment of the house. However, I am nearly always on hand to help or answer questions should they arise. The NeighborhoodSee the listing "Kangaroos in the Garden" for details.
